Damaramu Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 Ok this is why the booking doesn't make sense. Here's Kane...with Shane cuffed to the post and trapped...and what does he do? Pulls out a battery and attaches it to Shane's dick!? Why didn't he just beat Shane within an inch of his life? I mean he was helpless and couldn't have done anything about it...he could've left him there bloody...but instead he chose to shock his cock??? This is why the WWE sucks...they overbook the simplest thing...
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 I honestly thought Kane was going to beat him with the steps, or use a chair after trapping his legs.

Because Kane can't beat a McMahon up again and keep looking like a monster since the McMahons are supposed to be invincible and mightier than actual WRESTLERS like RVD .
Guest Dillon Likes Bossman Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 HAHAHA! You said "Shock his cock." It rhymes, oh the hilarity...sorry. Yes I agree, completely overbooked.
Guest Goodear Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 Because people beat the crap out of each other all the time on a wrestling show. When was the last time you saw one attach a battery to another man's testicles? When was the last time one fell into a pit o' fire? They overbook the Kane angle because its always been played as an over the top deal where Kane does crazy shit no one expects.
Just call me Dan Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 I would guess that they could have had shane take some manly chairshots or a pretty nice beating, but he didn't agree to it.
Jobber of the Week Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 As comedian and candidate for California governor Gallagher says, "It's about style!"
Damaramu Posted September 2, 2003 Author Report Posted September 2, 2003 But there was no style here...and if you wanted to overbook it why didn't he set him on fire? I mean he's been trying to do it...this was the perfect opportunity... What was sadder than the angle was JR and King speculating that b/c he was going to shock him MIGHT JUST BE THE REASON he poured water on him....thank you geniuses.
Guest God Junior Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 I love Vince's logic. Â Recently we've seen: Â Kane set an announcer on fire. Kane placed on house arrest, yet still be permitted to travel around the country. Kane thrown into a flaming dumpster, which he then seemingly teleported out of. Kane tie up and attempt to set fire to RVD. Kane shock Shane McMahon's penis. Â Yet Ultimo Dragon's work is too unrealistic.
Guest JMA Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 ::waits for the obvious Shockmaster joke::
Guest Super Pissed Smark Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 What exactly was Kane so upset about anyway? It's not like Shane did anything really serious to him last week when he kicked him into the fire, all he got was a bit of a sunburn from it. Could be we weren't supposed to take the fire literally anyway, might've been metaphorical flames, the flames of love, perhaps? Maybe this is just Kane's own shy way of asking Shane out? Testicular shocks this week, flowers and chocolate next, and after that who knows? We could be witnessing Steph-HHH II here. Ah, young love... Â

Guest Coffey Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 I guess the WWE were going for something original, but it turned out poorly. Had Kane just decimated Shane McMahon with a steel chair or the steps it would've made a lot more sense.
AndrewTS Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 I'm all for WWE using creative ways for some one to get attacked rather than just a generic beatdown all the time. Â However, if said method would obviously kill a person and leave them in a way that would not allow for an open-casket funeral, then please don't bother. Â For example: Â Austin's "Pilmanizing" an ankle = good. Shocking balls with high voltage = bad. Â Con-chair-to = good. Hitting an ambulance with a semi = bad. Â Powerbomb through a flaming table = good as long as all involved know what the hell they are doing. Â Anything involving flames and "gasoline" = bad.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 to kinda quote Kane. He's not doing what we want him to do anymore. He's doing what HE Wants, and he wants everyone to feel his pain...in bed.
Guest Coffey Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 I always thought that flaming tables were ignorant. Stuff like that is why the pedistool as to what is hardcore has been raised too high. When people like New Jack get over on wrestling programs without doing a single wrestling move, something is wrong. Â I loved ECW, but having to watch garbage matches with garbage wrestlers is ultimately what did them in. If you keep pushing the level of hardcore, eventually you'll get to a level that you can't even top. Â Hardcore is bad for the business. Â A steel chair attack to get someone over as a heel isfine. Throwing someone off of a scaffold through thirty tables isn't. Â ECW, XPW & even the WWE Hell in a Cell between Foley & Undertaker are the reason why kids are killing themselves in their parents backyard. It's why backyard wrestling has a bad name, and ultimately it's what is holding down professional wrestling as a whole as far as legitimacy is concerned. Think about it. All major sports consider professional wrestling to be a joke. It's not just because wrestling was kayfabe for so long either...
CanadianChick Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 So next week, will Kane do something weird like this too? You know, after he beats RVD.
AndrewTS Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 Jag0: I agree, I was just using an example. Done once, in a controlled environment and with the proper precautions, that would be alright. Â I'm not suggesting or advocating flaming tables matches in WWE. It's just that it's not far removed from some of the stuff Kane does now, and would actually be believable. Â You could buy it a lot easier if Kane had set a table on fire during that interview and put JR through it. Â Dumping "gasoline" on JR and then setting "him" ablaze is different, though. You could believe that the former would keep JR out for several weeks. In the latter case, JR showing up after being set on fire and apparently suffering no ill effects whatever is idiotic. Â And call me callous, but kids stupid enough to imitate stuff like that are the kinds who don't deserve the chance to breed.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 Shane will pull a HHH and use a flame thrower on Kane...on his crotch. Â Â HIS BALLS AREON FIRE! HIS BALLS ARE ON FIRE~!
NoCalMike Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 Saddest part of this whole thing is when RVD saved Shane, Shane kept repeating, "I OWE YOU ONE" which means UGH, if RVD ever beats Kane, it will be all because of Shane the helper. Which is probably just gonna be used to setup Shane/Kane....
CanadianChick Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 Maybe next week, RVD will actually beat Kane after Shane interferes. That would probably be the worst possible finish ever though. Neither RVD or Kane look good.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 I know I'm late with this for why Kane did what he did...but I think it's simple...he wanted to do more permanent damage to Shane than just beating him up. Â Being attacked...there...like he planned...would be more permanent of an attack than just beating someone up. Â That's my theory.

But breaking bones with a chair would probably do some permanent damage...maybe he could permanetly damage Shane's arm or his neck....I mean as of now he's just making sure there can't be anymore McMahon's....GO KANE!
Just call me Dan Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 Shane's selling/acting was superb in the spot though, I must admit. It was stupid, but Shane did his best.
Guest Deviant Posted September 3, 2003 Report Posted September 3, 2003 Uh, wouldn't Shane screaming his lungs out and passing out once he got shocked be the appropriate selling? Attach those jumper cable clamps to a finger and judge your "sell", then amplify it by quite a few hundred thousand times. Â With JR doing his usual hyperactive oversell, Kane beating the crap out of Shane with a chair in that position would have been great TV imo.

Guest Deviant Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 Bondage that isn't illegal doesn't usually contain the shredding of a guy's balls though. So brush up on 8mm with Nicholas Cage and get a feel for where we're going.

Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Shane will save RVD's life by slicing Kane up with a machette, RVD and the rest of the roster freak out, and pull Shane off of Kane. Shane is put in an institution, during that time Brain Lee (or Nathan Jones) shows up to play a Kane copycat, who does pretty much the same thing; Shane slays him too. Sahne goes to look for Kane's body with a jobber; Kane comes back and murders the jobber, and beigns a new riegn of terror. Shane challenges Kane to an inferno match at a very special place, the old funeral home where he was first burnt (this will occur at a RAW PPV, so Shane does not overshadow Steph). Shane burns Kane, and the funeral home down also, Kane will resuface from time to time as some sort of wrestling urban legend.
