syxx2001 Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 Apparently, the NWA-TNA tried to buy a national ad on Spike TV during Raw to help advertise their promotion. However, they were caught doing it and weren't allowed to place the ad. Credit: WObserver
Guest Choken One Posted September 6, 2003 Report Posted September 6, 2003 Smart.... Just one up them and buy a MNF timeslot but that would bankrupt the company though
Astro101 Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 How does it work? Does Raw get to veto the commercials if they want or what?
Guest Choken One Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 wwe can say what is advertised during Raw's timeslot...or anyother WWE programing timeslots...They don't mind indy feds advertising...Here in Cincy, HWA is constantly advertised throughout the night.
syxx2001 Posted September 7, 2003 Author Report Posted September 7, 2003 Since they couldn't buy a national ad, they are gonna buy small ads like Houston, Seattle, Chicago, etc.
Guest Choken One Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 Raw would still veto that...
Steviekick Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 I've actually seen TNA PPV ads during Raw. The cable company pops them in.
iliketurtles Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 They should do it on USA Network to really stick it in WWE. Too bad now that WWF left USA, no one watches USA anymor
Steviekick Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 USA network has DEFINITELY suffered from low ratings since WWE left town.
Guest Boo_Bradley Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 I thought EWeekly said that USA has 3 of the highest rated basic cable shows... Monk and some others...I'll go look....
Astro101 Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 The only show I watch on USA is The Dead Zone.
shlidgn90 Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 usa suffers from lower ratings, but they make up the wwf loss in higher quality ad revenue.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 MONK RULES THE EARTH!!!! +1
Guest Choken One Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Huh? USA was third behind TNT and Nick a couple months ago...SPIKE/TNN wasn't even in the top 15.
Styles Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Just to clarify WWE can veto the national ads (which is what TNA tried to sneak in by listing their company as whatever the public relations company that runs Panda is called) but WWE has no control over local ads bought out through various cable companies.
