Everyone Unite: Lets put an end to that rap music

Or maybe he felt that the "Sing with me/Sing for the years" went along with the message he wanted to get across with the song.

So write your own song with your own lyrics saying the same thing.

Whatever it is he's trying to say in this song would be just as effective without a clip of a 30 year old rock song in it.

Even as much as I hate rap, I can tell that Eminem isn't as blatantly useless and lazy as Puff Daddy who actually needs the 30 year old rock songs.

Wonder how AS feels about the rock n' roll artists who copied the blues?

I'm sure he'll think of a dandy reasoning as to why that's totally different and ok.

'Cause E1vis and Eric Clapton were white and white is right.

I believe the Phil Collins & Bone Thugs song was better myself. Because the orginal artist (Phil Collins) was only singing the hooks.

Metal is for 13-20 year old boys who are angry at the world.

Rap is for crackheads that will steal your shit.

Truer words have never been spoken.

Actually, more IGNORANT words have never been spoken.

And the first comment isn't? Tit for tat, dipshit.

'Cause E1vis and Eric Clapton were white and white is right.

Or how about that one?

Raz, I hate to quote something a poster said in regards to friggin' Mario, but, "Have you ever listened to music?"

I think that Raz may have been being sarcastic about Elvis and Clapton. Maybe.

Sarcasm is the glue that holds this place together.

Oh, and metal/alternative/whatever=rap.

Pop would have to be the worst, most wishy washy genre of all.

I think techno is the most wishy washy, just repeat a 15 second loop for 5 minutes and you have a song. Also call yourself a DJ and remix other peoples material by making it faster or turning up the bass.

Very much true, and most of the songs tend to sound the same, IMO.

when done properly it does not sound like the song it was originally recorded from.

What about Stan? The sample is a direct rip of the Dido song, but the context its placed in completely alters the feel of the chorus and lyrics to good effect. And yet the sample still sounds exactly the same as its original source on a technical level. And surely its a bit cruel to compare the Sing for the Moment sampling with the hellishness of Diddy?

Unless you listen to some of the stuff the Warp label has put out.

Aphex Twin and the like are way more innovative than most right now.

Once Again, You missed the intention...

Eminem was playing homage to one of the Pioneers of rap...RUN DMC.

Do You have any Proof of this?

Also, Did You attend the Johnson school Of Grammar?

No offense meant, but there's a difference between poor spelling (which may not be related to much else in the brain) and poor grammar (which you should have learned in grade school).

Furthermore, the message of the song, based solely on the lyrics, would seemingly be that musicians should sing to tell a story and convey emotion, rather than any sort of grand homage. At least, that's MY take.

"Right before I turn to leave she says,

You don't know what you mean to me

No matter what I do, all I think about is you

Even when I'm with my boo,

Boy you know I'm crazy over you...

No matter what I do, all I think about is you,

Even when I'm with my boo,

You know I'm crazy over you..."

^Hates this song with a passion.

I hate any song where "boo" is used as a noun.
