LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2003 I looked over your team, and Satan would be the guy I would want. But like I said before, gotta wait until he settles his contract dispute.

MrRant 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 Everybody still active in the league? I hope for it to be relatively competitive. I haven't done much with my team just because I want to see how the first 5-10 games of the season go. And I still haven't found a way to make the Shizzle someone else's team. If I can't I will play it like a normal team as much as possible and will not be allowed to trade inbetween the Shizzle and the NO MA'AM.

HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2003 Not sure where to post this but it's a team of mine in another league. I was wondering what you all thought of it(I'm not that big a hockey fan as I mainly follow the Bruins). B - Denotes Bench C: Alexie Yashin C: Vincent Lecavalier LW: Keith Tkachuk LW: Jeff Friesen RW: Milan Hejduk RW: Pavel Bure D: Sergei Zubov D: Roman Hamrlik D: Dan Boyle D: Nick Boynton G: Olaf Kolzig G: Dwayne Roloson RW(B): Martin Lapointe LW(B): Sergei Samsonov C(B): Ron Francis D(B): Alexei Zhitnik
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2003 Yashin is a perennial underachiever. Last season he was actually put on the third line to punish him. He's too talented to waive, but you might want to try for a trade. Vinnie Lecavalier kicks much ass. He's a keeper. Tkachuk should play well this year, no clue about Friesen. Hejduk is great, but Bure has messed up knees. Look to trade or even waive the guy and pick up a better winger. Kolzig is ok, but Roloson won't give you more than half of the starts from the Wild. Try and get Manny Fernandez if he's on waivers. If he isn't, maybe try trading him to whoever has him. In the meantime, check to see if a guy like Hackett or Aesbischer is available on waivers. the max 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2003 You have a fair amount of talent in the forwards, but let me say this: YOUR DEFENSE SUCKS Get rid of Roman Hamrlik, and Alex Zhitnik. Try and get Filip Kuba or Robyn Regehr to solid you up on defense. Dan Boyle is a good offensive guy, but isn't going to be stellar on defense. Sergei Zubov is in the same boat as Boyle. And try to get a sleeper in your net like Mike Dunham or Tommy Salo.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2003 With the recent events of Dany Heatly... I think I might release him... As he'll probably not be playing at all this season.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 Just a reminder... Get your lineups done today or tomorrow as the season starts on Wednesday! Or if you are smart (like me), you'll plan your lineups four weeks ahead of time.
treble 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 You should have kept Heatley.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 You should have kept Heatley. Dude, he's out indefinitely. His MCL and ACL in his knee is destroyed. He's done for the season. Regardless of if he manages to have no jail time.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 From Yahoo's Own Notes of Heatley (as well as every newspaper covering the tragic event): Oct 4 Adding to Atlanta Thrashers star Dany Heatley's woes comes the news that an MRI on Friday shows he has completely torn his right ACL and MCL and also has a torn lateral meniscus. Still facing charges from last week's car accident that left teammate Dan Snyder critically injured, Heatley will undergo surgery on his knee sometime in the next seven to 10 days and was scheduled to have surgery on his broken jaw on Saturday. Advice: Heatley, the Thrashers' leading scorer last season, will be sidelined indefinitely.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 *Looks at schedule* Yeah, you should have kept him. And keep him sidelined on the bench? When you've only got ONE bench? Seriously, hell no. I may regret it later, but no.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 If this was a keeper league, you might want to keep the guy. But he most likely won't be back for a while, so why keep him? Just a waste of space when every other team has an extra player putting up extra points.
treble 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 He should at least keep him on his team for 1 week, though. Just to be safe.

LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2003 Ok, so my opponent gets a tie. Having more ties counts as a point? That is bizarre. Games started seems like a weird stat to keep as well. Could we change it to stick with just Wins, maybe? Or Wins/Losses? That seems better.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2003 Ok, so my opponent gets a tie. Having more ties counts as a point? That is bizarre. Games started seems like a weird stat to keep as well. Could we change it to stick with just Wins, maybe? Or Wins/Losses? That seems better. It's a statistical category that IS important. How many teams have won a playoff position by a single point from a tie? A lot. Besides, they worked hard for that tie, and deservedly so. Thus it should be classified. And it's the person who has the most totals for that category that gets a point. Which is why I'm currently up 11-1 against the Leafs.
