treble 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 I want to see Colorado wear the Nordiques uni against Montreal. The Avs and Habs had an exhibition game at the Colisée last year, and they were toying with the idea of having Colorado wear Nordiques uniforms, but they decided against it. starvenger 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 I want to see Colorado wear the Nordiques uni against Montreal. The Avs and Habs had an exhibition game at the Colisée last year, and they were toying with the idea of having Colorado wear Nordiques uniforms, but they decided against it. Smart move. While I could see 50% of the crowd loving it, the 50% that hated it could cause some serious damage...
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 one thing I would like to see is the old purple Kings Uniforms, and the old Capital uniforms. Those were uber cool
the max 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 If the Penguins brought back the light blue sweaters, I'd mark out.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 It's too long of an article to post, so I'll avoid doing that, but this article explains the whole story ... http://www2.nhl.com/onthefly/news/2003/08/146548.html Not all teams are doing it, so Max might be SOL about seeing the oldschool Penguins unis. Personally, I'm praying that the Canucks go with the Cooperalls for their retro uniform.
the max 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 I guess the Canucks are going with the 'Flying V' logo for the throwback. That rink logo kicks some maximum ass, I'm hoping they'll go with it. That disappoints me about the Penguins.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 I guess the Canucks are going with the 'Flying V' logo for the throwback. That's what I was thinking, seeing as that's one of CCM's more recent "heritage jerseys" As for who will don the retro jerseys (from the article that nl5xsk1 posted previously): As part of a special marketing plan next year, the St. Louis Blues, Montreal Canadiens, Los Angeles Kings, Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers and Boston Bruins will don throwback sweaters in games in an effort to take the fans on a journey back in time. I suppose that, in theory, the Blues could wear the Scouts sweaters, but I think that they'll probably just go with their expansion look. The Canadiens... I dunno - the Maroons, maybe? Whatever it is, I think they'll be wearing them on Nov 22 at Commonwealth Stadium.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 I think the Devils should wear not the Scouts nor Rockies sweaters, but the Christmas ones from the 80s. That way they could share some holiday spirit...God knows their gameplay needs all the spirit it can get.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2003 the Habs throw backs would be from teh 40's with the blue stripe in the middle of the jersey
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Could the Rangers wear this gem from the 70's (not Phil Esposito, the jersey):
Brush with Greatness 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2003 The Canucks are actually using the hockey stick inside a rink logo as a shoulder patch on their regular jerseys.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2003 The Canucks are actually using the hockey stick inside a rink logo as a shoulder patch on their regular jerseys. Bah. I liked the skate logo that the Canucks had when they were Cup contenders.
