Cavi 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2003 So, yeah...anyone know which episode I'm talking about? That is the episode "Billy" from Season Three.
Guest stardust Report post Posted November 3, 2003 Speaking of Season 2...I'm watching the tail end of what probably has to be one of my favorite episodes ever, but I don't know the name of it (I've never been good with episode titles). It's the ep where the guy, Billy, touches other guys and it brings out all of their hatred and anger and stuff. Lilah gets the shit beat out of her, then shoots him out on the tarmac at the air port. Wesley tries to kill Fred and she rigs up the device with the fire extinguisher and knocks Wesley through the floor. The day after this episode premiered, I remember going to my lit class and like three or four of us having a good fifteen minute discussion with our prof. about this episode. So, yeah...anyone know which episode I'm talking about? Sorry...but that's probably Season 3 or 4. The end of Season 2 is where you meet Fred in Pylia. Dames My bad. I was trying to count back and relate it to what year I was in in college. That class seems so long ago... And apparently along with being no good with episode names, I'm also no good with seasons. Oh, well. *shrug* I like that episode, though. *walks out of thread sheepishly*
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2003 Don't worry, I suck at eps. titles too. http://www.tvtome.com/Angel/ I tend to reference this site for help.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2003 I wasn't a big fan of "Billy". I thought the character was fascinating and had a really ominous look that juxtaposed well with Angels and they built him up really well in the eps. where Angel had to fight Skip and the prison of fire and whatnot (see, not good with eps names) ... and then he's in it for a single eps? Dats bullshit. Though it did have a "serious issue" involved, I just didn't think it just wasnt satisfying.
Guest stardust Report post Posted November 3, 2003 The reason why I think that episode just stuck with me is because of the issue at hand. The next morning in class, we were all talking (meaning like the five of us who were Buffy/Angel fans, including the prof) about how it was dealing with violence in that matter, and how it seemed to fit in perfectly with the fact that it aired in September, which is Domestic Abuse Awareness Month, and the episode dealth with men's violence against women. Very fitting considering that.
Mole 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2003 When TNT gets around to showing season 3, I'll be caught up in all of it.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 I'm at the part where Angel gets back with the gang after having gone "bad" for a while. It's really fun to watch because Kate and Lindsay leave the show round this time and you see the foundation of what the show will be based around for the next 3 seasons. Mole 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 We need Lindsay to come back!
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 YES! And KATE~! (man was Kate hot... Kate was very, very, very, very, very, very hot) Lindsay is fucking annoying me right now in this Darla love-triangle. He was a good character, though. I don't think I appreciated him enough the first time-round. They better bring him back since he was the first employee of WR&H (show wise) and now that Angel is in charge he should come up in some way.
Mole 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Lindsay got on my good side right away, especially with the whole deal with turning on Angel in season 1. Those two just HATED each other, and some how figured it out to free those people. I especially liked what Angel put on the back of his truck, something to do with cops, though it leaves my mind right now.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 YEAH! That eps. will be on tomorrow! It's called "Dead End"... Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Lindsey, doing his best James Dean, packs up his truck so he can leave L.A. Angel is there, apparently to see him off and tell him not to come back. Lindsey tells Angel that the key to Wolfram & Hart is to not let them make you play their game, but to make them play yours. Angel thanks him and warns him not to drive too fast because there are a lot of cops in the area. Lindsey drives off to reveal that Angel has attached a sign that says “Cops Suck” on the back of his truck. (I think you mean this)
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 Cool the episode where Fred and Gunn kill that professor guy is on TNT right now.

Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 Ahaha... Wes: How did you get to sit in front? Spike: I called shotgun. Wes: *pulls out shotgun* Oh, I thought we were doing a weapons check.
Mole 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 1. Tonight's episode was phat. 2. We don't get enough Lorne. I could of sworn I didn't see him in the opening credits, but I am not sure. 3. Spike needs to get out of this ghost form though. We need Spike to be kicking ass again, we just need it. 4. The whole luchadore story was so so for me, but I like how they brought the whole hero thing into it. The wrestling they did was pretty bad, it doesn't show how luchas really wrestle at all. 5. If this is the last season of Angel, he will turn human again. They are talking about it more than ever, so it must be coming. I liked how Spike wanted to know more about the Shanshu, since he wants to be human again also. 6. Angel is truely a champion though, nuff said. 7. "You want to kill him, not pin him" had me rolling one the floor. 8. I called shotgun thing was awesome also. 9. "The Father will kill the Son." Wes was like, what the heck are you talking about? Well you know what, IT WAS TRUE. Angel did kill Connor, thus, the prophecy was true. Soooo, the Shanshu is true also. But is it for Spike or Angel.....? More thoughts later, but Matrix awaits me!!!!! RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 1. Yeah, I liked the eps. but I didn't dig it. It was more a play on El Santo rather than Lucha Libre. 2. Lorne's "smackdown" comment was a nifty wink to the wrestling audience.... which means someone on Angel is a wrestling fan... which means there's actually a writer out there in hollywood worth picking up by the WWE... 3. I loved the bit where Spike told Fred Angel beat up the mailboy, and she's like "Not Number 5!" - it reminded me of the Simpsons eps where Homer tells Marge Lenny got hurt so he could go bowling "Not Lenny... NOT LENNY... Kids, I have some bad news, Lenny is Hurt" "NOT LENNY!" - a fucking horrible eps. but a funny line. 4. The Shotgun comment was classic. Wes was on tonight - but still not badass enough. He could have whipped that shotgun out a lot better... 5. Gunn is SOOOOOO much better now... 6. This eps. needed a lil bit of Harm and a touch of Eve. You know, just to raise the foxxxy to appropriate levels... gotta meet the quota. A 0.4 Lilah would have been fine... 7. The Wrestling sucked. But wrestling really has never been portrayed very well on screen... 8. The eps. basically was to further Angels character and the SharonLoisandBramshu Prophecy, just in case this is their last season and they need an "out". 9. They SOOOOOOO need Kate to come back and sex it up one time. Fuck she's hot... it's a fuckin shame she's gone from the reruns on SPACE... but you...YOU TNTites can still appreciate the divine beauty and spank-o-rifficness of Lt. Kate Foxly. Don't be like me, take what you got and keep it close and keep it tight and never let go! 10. "There was no smacking" - Angel 11. I loved how they worked the Connor thing in, that was fucking brilliant cause I legit forgot that they all forgot and I was like "oooooh dat's rite! dat's rite!" 12. I liked how they used the text's again, referencing back to the Season Finale (again).
Mole 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 RRR, can't you see Angel becoming human though? They are talking about prophecies SO much, so it must happen. When Angel asked Wes about "Father will kill his son" I was like, OHHH, he did do that, the Shanshu prophecy is true!
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 I liked it when Angel mentioned the old prophecy about Connor. Thing is, didn't that timetravelling demon make up the whole thing? Kinda hurts it's validity. Though it was true. I liked the "Not Number 5!" line as well. Had to laugh at Angel getting thrown through the window at the beginning, and the assorted one-liners that followed. I liked how Angel beating up an old man was magically available online, and then Lorne says it's a good thing. I liked how the ep wasn't throwaway, developing the whole hero thing with Angel and Spike. Nice little ep. And Gunn seriously kicks ass. I wasn't sure about the lawyer thing at first, but it rules. Cavi 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 I enjoyed the episode. Fun stuff, yet still developed the larger arc, as already mentioned. I could see it go either way with Angel turning human if this is indeed the last season. Building it up like he no longer believes in the prophecy could lead one to think that they would make it so it really was legit, but then again, having him stay as a vamp is something I could see Joss do. Some other tidbits: Angel: "Did you know the devil built a robot?" Wes: "El Diablo Robotico." I got a kick out of that. Anybody else notice that the man that visited Number 5 in the flashback was Holland? Nice touch there.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 The wrestling was a little bit like lucha libre. It wasn't as good, but you could see spots that are used a lot in lucha libre.
Mole 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 I sort of noticed it was Holland, but not really.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 Well it only said Holland on the buisness card. They didn't show his face...I don't think.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 Next week's episode looks like we're gonna get some good action and a more serious episode.
Mole 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 Well it only said Holland on the buisness card. They didn't show his face...I don't think. No face, but there was a card. Wes' father comes back next week, and the Watcher's Council is up and running again. Too bad the preview didn't say that, but whatever.
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 I didn't see the business card but I had guessed it was Holland. I love how even the comedy and monster of the week episdoes aren't throwaway crap this season. Oh, and the "El Diablo Robotico" line had me laughing.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 Just the way the brothers reacted in the flashback had me laughing. "The Devil has built a robot!!!! Yaaaah!!"

Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted November 6, 2003 I liked the episode. the wrestling was bad, but then again, it was supposed to be lucha libre 50 years ago. I read the poilers for next weeks ep on another message board, you can get to it through this site: SpoilerSlayer And while it does seem like a good episode, man those people on that board just rip it apart. Makes most of you guys look like freakin' optimists And for those who wanted Spike solid again: Spoiler (Highlight to Read): I believe it is in two weeks when a mysterious package arrives at Wolfram and Hart for Spike. Upon opening it, he becomes solid again. the downside is that the computers go crazy, as do most of the employees at Wolfram and Hart. More details can be found threw the above link. Enjoy!
