The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Recommended Posts

Ho-lee SHIT.

What a fucking "Occurence at Owl Creek" ending, Batman.

But with Lindsay gone now, who's this season's REAL big bad?

He'll probably be back before the end, otherwise...what a waste.

As for Cordy, I teared up a little. I admitd it. IT's sucks that they couldn't find anything for her anymore, I REALLY liked her in Angel.

Does anyone know why she left the show? Were those rumors about a fight between her and Joss Whedon true?

Oh yeah, do you think the rest of the group will remember Cordy for that period of time or will it be like Connor again?

Wow, that was an amazing episode. Not only was that the best of the season, but it was it is in my top ten list of all time.

1. Angel wanting to quit at the beginning was a great way to start off the episode.

2. Cordy, well what can I say, she was great. It was a mix between the old Cordy and new Cordy, which I loved so much.

3. Angel and Wes going to see Cordy first made perfect sense. They were the first three, after Doyle, to be in Angel Inc. Cordy asking about Connor, classic.

4. When Cordy got into Eve's face, and Cordy shot her down was awesome. You DON'T MESS with the real bitch.

5. I almost shed a tear when they showed Doyle. "First solider down"

6. I thought Spike was possesed or something when he bit Cordy, but it made sense in what he said.

7. Angel: I don't want anyone I care about to go.

Spike: I'll go.

Angel: Alright. NOW THAT IS CLASSIC.

8. Harmony attacking Eve was great, because she is evil and wouldn't feel bad about it.

9. The whole fight with Angel/Lindsay was awesome. I wish they could have kept Lindsay around longer, but it seems he isn't the big bad.

10. And the ending was sooo bittersweet. Angel gets to kiss Cordy, but she ends up being dead. It makes perfect sense in Angelverse though. Angel just can't be kept happy, he always has to be sad. That is one thing I love about the show, the fact that Angel can never be fully happy. And when he is happy, it makes it that much better.

All around, this was an excellant episode. There was nothing about it I didn't like and it was a true 100th episode.

I'm so glad I went into that episode unspoiled. Some of the dialog felt forced(especially the stuff referencing earlier episodes) but damnit, they got me with all the emotional stuff.

I especially loved the big grin on Angel's face when he saw Cordy. He's never happy, so it always feels good when he is.

But....what the hell was with the preview for next week? It looks very....not good.

No, I have a feeling it will be good.

I can't remember ONE Angel/Buffy episode that had flashbacks that wasn't any good. Plus, Spike as a Nazi? Gold.

Eh, I don't like most of the flashback episodes.

Plus I get a feeling that this is gonna be more of a "weird vision/alternate universe/something that's not a real flashback" episode.

I loved, loved, loved, loved, LOOOOOOOVED this episode. Just a right mix of comedy, drama, character development, storyline progression, action... EVERYTHING... near-perfect episode.

1. There was one whole scene in the office w/ Eve which HAS TO be a top 5 scene in Angel OR Buffy's history. Cordy telling Angel to torture Eve, Angel refusing, Harmony asking if she can do it, Angel accepting - just written and worked to perfection.

2. They can't just end Lindsay like that, can they??! I mean, fuck, his re-debut on the show had me going nuts and he's there for HOW many episodes? I know they're leading up to something big, but shit, can't leave a playa out of the game for that long just to have him come back for shits and giggles. This reeks of THE BEAST and not in the cool, ass kicking way.

3. Shit, Lindsay reeked of THE BEAST in the cool, ass kicking way! That was so awesome it was Boston, and by that I mean Bossome, which is a boss and awesome hybrid. Wicked Bossome. The leaping and the hitting and the SMACK talking - just a great fight scene.

4. Is it me, or was Cordy HOT? ;) Not only that, but I actually liked her on my TV as opposed to wishing death on her everytime she appeared on screen for the last 2 seasons. Boobies~! Bitch Cordy was so fanfuckingtastic that it made me sad that she died.

5. How they killed her off was GREAT. And by that I mean GREAT and SHITTY - cause Evil Cordy's rise meant the end of THE BEAST as #1 baddy, and Good Cordy's rise meant the end of Lindsay. BEAST GOOD! Cordy bad! But the actual kill-off was really well done with the "she never left the bed" thing and the goodbye kiss and it actually made sense (Powers that Be decide to turn around Angel through Cordy, the cost of which is Cordy's life. "I'll be seeing you" was heartbreaking yet uplifting. It actually hurt more knowing that she was going to die when she was saying all that stuff to Angel.

6. Spike attacking Cordy and Angel taking him to SCHOOL was great - cause it shows that Angel can still own Spike! YEAH THAT'S RIGHT SPIKEMARKS! ANGEL PWNZ HIM! CAUSE HE'S ANGEL MOTHERFUCKAZ! TIALI! TIALI! TIALI! TAKE IT AND LIKE IT~!!!!

7. The references to the past were all fucking wonderful. Lindsay talking about Angel kicking the client out the window, Cordy talking to Wes about ~the research~, the hand, Lorne telling Cordy about acting and Cordy NOT KNOWING WHO COLIN FARRELL IS~! THAT ROKXEORED etc. etc. It gave me the warm fuzzies to hear it represented. Truly a landmark episode.

8. Anyone else notice the eyes Fred was makin at Wes...

9. WHERE THE FUCK WAS DOYLE!?!? I completely missed that. FUCKING FUCK!~

10. Spike playing on an Xbox = Gold. SpikeBOX!

I've missed a lot of this season...did they ever explain how Spike came back, or is it just "supernatural"?

1. Lindsey sent Spike a magic box that made him solid back before the winter break

2. Charisma Carpenter left the show do to a combination of Joss needing to cut the show's budget in order to appease the WB corporate heads and Charisma simply being tired of playing the same character for over seven years....

3. The show's got a brand new big bad coming up

After two upcoming filler episodes, they are launching into a brand new arc where Fred gets possessed by an evil parasite demon who claims her body and soul with the unwitting help of Knox and Gunn. The current rumor is that this is to set up the return of Willow, as Alexis Denisof (AKA Wesley) has been pushing for his wife Alyson Hannigan to make an appearance on the show in the wake of SMG telling Joss that she won't follow through with her promise to appear in this season's season finale episode...

The demon that posseses her is in fact one of the pure demons who first existed on the planet, the ones who first created vampires. Kinda cool they're bringing them back, since I don't think either show has mentioned them up since the Buffy Pilot.

Dead Cordy makes me sad, but I did kinda mark out when she turned around and kissed Angel.

And RRR, I noticed the eyes Fred was making at Wesley--it was blatantly obvious.

One thing I forgot about.

When Cordy tells Angel "And you made a deal with the Devil"

Then Angel shakes the hand of a demon who looks JUST like the Devil. That was great.

"Raquetball Thursday?"

Yeah, I must agree with everyone, awesome ep. I totally fell for the false finish, which was dumb because Joss books more false finishes than Russo and McMahon combined. Really sad to see Cordy go, especially since she got "the hot" and partially returned to bitchy/bossome Cordy. Bah. Ah well, I'll be happy with the cleavage we got this ep.

It was nice to see Cordy's story get resolved, though...her growth from rich bitch to champion was interesting, to say the least.

Harmony was great, as usual. Her eager volunteer work was excellent. Like Rude said, that whole scene was gold. And it was *really* nice to see Eve get belted in the face a few times.

And how great was Wes' "kicking it old school" line? Wes rules.

It was kinda weird that Spike was playing Donkey Kong on XBOX. He could of at least played Halo or something. Or either of the Buffy games on Xbox.

Lindsey was really great this ep too...here's hoping we see him again sometime this season. Him kicking the crap out of Angel was great.

Isn't it great how a dead man can appear in Angel's 100th episode, but SMG can't get off her primadonna ass and make an appearance?

Hey, she has... uh... Scooby Doo sequels to make! I suppose! Blah. Glenn Quinn > SMG.

Are we ever going to find out who sent the Robo-Ninjas out? I thought it was something related to Lindsey, and that Lindsey was working for the good guys...but it looks like he was out for revenge.

Doubt it's the Scoobies...Robo-Ninjas just aren't their style. So some other third party? Remnants of the Watcher's Council?

That's a pretty lame reason to call her a primadonna. Maybe it was just me, but that episode was over-cast as it was. An apperance from Buffy would've "killed Cordy's heat" to put it in wrestling terms.

Agree with all of the above. Awesome episode. Cordy calling Eve "Lilah Junior" was priceless. :)

I'm not really sad to see her character go, though. If only because this is the "Angelverse" and pretty much anyone can be brought back to life if needed. They've done it tons of times, and if it needs to be done with Cordy in the future - for storyline purposes - it can be. I doubt it will be, but hey, a guy can hope can't he?

My only problem with this season is that Spike, even though he's getting second billing in the intro reel, is a bit player so far. Sure, we've had a few eps with him as the main focal point.. but, I dunno.. I just feel that he has no real purpose on this show. I mean, they ended his pseudo "helping the helpless" gig with Lindsay. Angel has his drive back thanks to Cordy. Now what's Spike back to? Antagonizing Angel and playing "pesky little grandson?"

I'm still clamouring for a permanently EVIL Spike.. no more of this two vampires with a soul shit. That, and this show is SERIOUSLY over-cast. A main character needs to be killed off, and by the looks of those spoilers above, I have an idea of whom it might be - but I could be wrong. ;)

I'm starting to think that they brought back Lindsay just so he could be in the 100th ep. I mean, look at all the history they brought up- the first bad guy Angel killed, Lindsay's hand, the Doyle commercial. But I hope Linds comes back before the end of the season.

Cordy has a window to come back- she was corporeal, even while her "body" was still in the bed. That means that she can come back as a sort of spirit guide, hopefully.

I have a feeling that Wes will be sticking with Fred for the rest fo the season, no matter what happens. ;)

Best episode of th4e season after a couple of bad ones coughHarmsWaycough.
