Ripper 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 If you really look at it, every character from Giles, to Wesley, to Angel and Spike, all have had parts of thier life they were essentially "bad" so it really isn't just on the women. I think its the fact that they are women is what makes them stick in your mide more than Ripper, Angelus, and William the Bloody. Xander has never been "bad;" unless you count "The Wish," but I don't count that. Xander's moment of "evil" was leaving Anya at the alter. Xander was always the normal guy, real world guy and his evil was one that would happen in the real world. And I don't care how many women you talk to, you can't get more evil to them than leaving them standing at the alter in their dress with their family there. But it always seemed like Xander was still portrayed as very sympathetic about the whole leaving-Anya-at-the-altar thing. I remember an ep where she was bitching about what happened and Xander told her off. You didn't see something similar happen with Willow after her evil incident. You also didn't see a whole ton of remorse from Xander either, when compared to Willow and Faith etc. And really, what's worse: flaying a misongynistic murderer, or breaking your fiance's heart? I say this because I always saw Anya as much more sympathetic than Xander about the whole thing, but the show seemed to have this pro-Xander bias going on. Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Rudo, this season is good, but it's no season 4 of Angel or season 5 of Buffy. So far this sason we've had Karate action Harmony, U-666, the Muppets from Hell (although those are starting to grow on me) and Robo-ninjas. There have been excellent episodes as we,, but this season is lacking in quality, and I blame the WB for imposing those dumb-ass rules on Joss.

Robo Ninjas and Puppets from Hell kicked all types of ass... ... Well the "robo Ninjas" and "puppets from hell" themselves didn't but those episodes were pretty damn good. Especially the robo ninja ep where Wes goes all O-Dawg on his robo dad. Now "Hi-Ya!! Harmony" and Sub-O-Doom, I could've done without.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 One thing I've noticed- Some random character and Lorne are in a room. Character starts to sing, Lorne see's their bad intentions. Ho many times can they repeat this spot? And the robo-ninjas episode WAS good, I'll admit.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Bad news Angel fans: from the SpoilerSlayer.com: ATS: Various News And Comments I've got a fair bit of 'Angel' information that is too small for a single post, and with no linkage to throw in the News Section. So I'm going to stuff it all into this one post. According to various reports, it appears that the final run of episodes will be written by the following writers. - Episode 18: Drew Goddard - Episode 19: Ben Edlund - Episode 20: Steven DeKnight - Episode 21: David Fury - Episode 22: Jeff Bell For the five weeks following 'Shells', the show will be pulled from The WB's schedule. In its place, they will be running repeats of 'Smallville', chosen by the viewers. You can read about it at The WB. I know that there has been a lot of speculation about a possible return of Sarah Michelle Gellar or another star from the Buffyverse for the finale. At this time, I have heard nothing to indicate this will happen. There are a lot of roadblocks to this occurring, not the least of which is that the two strongest candidates are both overseas at the moment. However, with the twists and secretly filmed scenes that we've seen so far this season, I'm not going to put it past Joss and company to try to pull off a really big surprise to end the show. While I have not heard specifics about any one person or event, I am hearing enough to know that something is going on behind the scenes. The problem is, they know how to keep these things under wraps. The only thing that's caught them out twice this season were reviewer copies, otherwise the endings to 'Destiny' and 'You're Welcome' would have stayed secret until the wildfeed aired. Somehow, I don't expect them to make this mistake a third time. Finally, what about the future of the show? There have been many comments from the 'Wolfram and Hart Annual Revue', all of which indicate that the writers aren't hopeful that the show will be picked up elsewhere. I've received some email from people I've known over the years, which seem to back this up. I have even heard concerns that fans are spending their hard-earned money to try and save the show. Essentially, there's nothing wrong with showing your support, it does serve a purpose. But doing more than sending a few postcards or signing an online petition is perhaps too much, especially since the outcome will likely not change in any event. If I had to sum up the vibe that I'm getting, it's acceptance that the end is nigh. Which is a shame, because in my opinion, this is the finest season of the show to date, and may even be the best season of either 'Buffy' or 'Angel'. and from TheWB.com: It's YOUR turn to program The WB! Beginning March 10, we'll air fans' favorite Smallville episodes for five Wednesdays at 9/8c. The producers have chosen their favorites from seasons 1 and 2. Watch the clips, then click to vote. (Vote as often as you like, but you can only vote for one episode at a time.) so, first they piss off the fans by canceling it, then they pissus off some more by airing repeats of Smallville for over a month. BRILLIANT! Fuck the WB.

Ho many times can they repeat this spot? And the robo-ninjas episode WAS good, I'll admit. Well...thats Lornes THING. Thats like saying "How many times are they gonna have a problem and Wes goes and does research on it?" or "How many times is Angel going to Vamp out...its getting old." Angel is the Vamp...Wes is Research Guy and Lorne is "reads you when you sing guy". You have to admit though, the look he had on his face when they did it wednsday owned all of the other times. He moved slower when he knew Holtz was about to blow up the bar than he did turning around to catch Fred.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Rudo, this season is good, but it's no season 4 of Angel or season 5 of Buffy. I am a _big_ fan of both those seasons, and probably in the top 3 on this board as a fan of these 2 seasons. I've written endlessly about how brilliant Buffy Season 5 was, Angel Season 4 was like nothing the Whedonverse ever saw, I looooove these 2 seasons, so believe me when I say what happens in the rest of this Season is mind blowing. You have no idea. Hell, I thought I had an idea when I read the spoilers and then I saw Hole in the World and I still was blown away. This thing goes deep. It goes deeper than season 4 Angel and season 5 buffy. If you love continuity, this has it in spades. Looking back, there is _no_ meaningless episode this season; even if it appears as a throw-away it still has value for the entire arc.
Mole 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 WOAH, deeper than season 4 of Angel? How is that possible?

Guest EQ Report post Posted February 28, 2004 Wait... how did Angel and Spike get into Eve's apartment without being invited in?
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 If it was Lindsey's apartment...and he doesn't live there anymore...they shouldn't have a problem. Eve had to have her own place for Wolfram and Hart purposes. As long as Lindsey has officially moved on from there the next time he pops up...they'll be OK.
Guest EQ Report post Posted February 28, 2004 That's another thing I didn't quite understand. Didn't the senior partners kill Lindsey a few episodes ago?
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 They sucked him through a portal to "deal with him". No one ever said they would kill him...in fact...they may even like him for all we know. It really depends on how the senior partners really feel about Angel.
Guest EQ Report post Posted February 28, 2004 Yeah, I guess that's true.
Guest JMA Report post Posted February 28, 2004 My guess is that they're "saving" Lindsey for some unknown purpose. Perhaps they'll turn him into their NEW Angel fail-safe device.
Guest Brian Report post Posted February 28, 2004 Jeez, they have a least two more big storylines set up as well as the overall prophesy. Angel and the gang vs. the Senior partners and Angel vs. Spike. I'm still in disbelief this show is getting cancelled. Plus more with Lindsay.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 I read in a David Fury interview that they made it so Angel/Spike was the true "love story" of the season, and they're so right. I LOVE how their relationship has grown this season. It's been excellent writing all around.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 Angel is the kind of show that I would pitch to Showtime. Showtime has original programming...and with how many devout Angel fans there are in the country...if a premium channel picked it up they would surely get some new subscribers. Plus...Angel on a premium channel means you could take it in some much darker directions. The only reason I mention it...is that I think Showtime should pick up Firefly as a series after the movie comes out. Angel has a much bigger following than Firefly...and it needs a home STAT. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 Goddammit, I wish you all could just shut up cause you're tempting me to give the spoilers. AND EVEN THAT IS A SPOILER! BECAUSE I AM SAYING THERE WILL BE SOMETHING RELATING TO LINDSAY IN FUTURE EPISODES! YOU SEE HOW HARD IT IS FOR ME!!!!!!!!!? Jeez, dontcha all know? You have to think of me and the effect whatever you write will have on me, before you post.

Mole 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 I have come to the conclusion that Angel won't be picked up, and I am finally okay with that. I have full faith in Joss and Tim to end the season great; they know what they are doing. And RRR, since I won't post in HD anymore, thanks for stickin up for me. I have full faith in Joss and Tim to end the season great; they know what they are doing. Tim Minear, you mean? I didn't think he was working on Angel anymore (hence him not writing any episodes this season). After he heard that Angel was ending he wanted to direct a later episode, but couldn't because of his schedule. I think Jeff Bell or David Fury ended up taking his place as executive producer. Weren't they supposed to be "true" demons? Some demons didn't leave our world or die before man came. Some stayed and "evolved" (or de-evolved, however you look at it) into more humanoid forms.
