dubq 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Back to Angel, I finally saw the ep where he becomes human for 24 hours. One of the more depressing Whedonverse eps, especially when Angel and Buffy have a minute left and their stupid song comes on and Buffy is so upset...sigh. I need to go watch Smile Time or something. Depressing, yes, but you have to admit that it's hilarious when he re-discovers food!

Depressing, yes, but you have to admit that it's hilarious when he re-discovers food! That was such a great scene, because it's so rare that you actually see him happy. Of course, that happiness gets snatched away, but what can ya do. Mole- That's funny that you watch the depressing eps to make yourself feel better. If anything, they make me feel worse. I suppose watching "Hero" last night didn't help. Whoops. Jesus, this thread is going to be like this until May.
dubq 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 I'm currently in the midst of going through all of my Buffy sets in preparation for Season 6 coming out in May. I'm on disc four of Season 3 right now... - Helpless (1/19/1999) - Zeppo, The (1/26/1999) - Bad Girls (2/9/1999) - Consequences (2/16/1999) Such a great series of episodes. Especially consequences. Faith's full "heel turn" at the end is awesome. FAITH: You sent your boy to kill me. MAYOR: That's right, I did. FAITH: He's dust. MAYOR: I thought he might be. What with you standing here and all. FAITH: I guess that means you have a job opening.
Guest Vitamin EC Report post Posted March 10, 2004 To go back to the Spike thing, he would have been in the proposed Faith spin-off, following her around in ghostly form. That was actually confirmed before Angel S5, so they technically gave away that Spike would be a ghost way in advance.
Mole 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 You know since Tru Calling will probably get canceled, maybe the Faith spin-off could still happen. It could.
dubq 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 You know since Tru Calling will probably get canceled, maybe the Faith spin-off could still happen. It could. I thought it already was getting the axe? I heard that Fox only bought a few episodes anyways..
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 I heard it got picked up for a second season somewhere. Of course, now that you mention it, the same source went on to say how Fox stood buy it's shows... Yeah, I don't buy it either.
Mole 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 It shouldn't be picked up. The show is getting KILLED in the ratings. Plus, the show sucks.
Guest Vitamin EC Report post Posted March 10, 2004 Apparently they might be moving the show to Wednesdays, which means chances are it would go head-to-head with Angel. If that's true then I would guess that the ratings in that slot would determine it being picked up or not.
chaosrage 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2004 I'm glad the Faith spinoff didn't happen. She was the only character on Buffy I couldn't stand besides Riley. Give a spinoff to Giles, Xander, Willow, Andrew, Dawn, Spike, anybody else plz...

brokentusk16 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 How could it mess up the house and hurt Dawn? It never did anything like that before or after. In the one episode (First Date, IIRC), the demon Xander went out with brought him down to the seal to bleed him to make another Uber Vamp, so it would seem that there are some regular demons who are helping the First. Maybe the First got something to be there and be all poltergeisty, but then leave so it would seem like Dawn won so then the First could pose as her mom. That's what I thought at least Yeah, too bad they didn't try to, like, EXPLAIN what the hell was going on all seventh season!
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 I never had a problem with it
Guest Vitamin EC Report post Posted March 11, 2004 Petrie is just a pivotal writer of Faith, if you look at all the important Faith episodes in S3/S4, I think with the exception of Consequences, they're all written by either him or Joss. He might have had a hand in creating or turning her but I can't comment on that. He did have a hand in Riley though, I've seen him singled out as someone who pushed for that character and I think that's pretty much confirmed by how he talks about him in commentaries, he's a "bad ass" apparently. Mole 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 Yeah, I think you're right about that one. I can't remember at the time, but he was trying to push him hard even though the fans hated him.

I meant I never had a problem understanding what was going on. So...does anyone know what song they played at the beggining and end of Conversations with Dead People? Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2004 Ravenbomb: According to tvtome.com - Joss Whedon and Angie Hart together wrote the song 'Blue' which Angie sings in the teaser. The video clip for the song begins almost exactly as this episode does, with the band setting up their instruments.

Mole 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 I'm rather indifferent to Season 7. What I find I ironic is that season 7 is good, not great, but it is the same year that season 4 of Angel happened and that FUCKIN OWNS. One thing I liked that I thought about the other day is how each season started. Season 7 of Buffy started with only 3 scoobies; Buffy, Xander and Dawn. Season 4 of Angel started witl only 3 Team Angels'; Fred, Gunn and Connor. I am sure Joss did that on purpose.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 That's ironic? As mentioned previously, Season 7 had too much "stuff" in it, and a lot of that "stuff" they really didn't need. They really rushed it, IMO. That doesn't mean that I hate the season, it had its moments, but it moved by too quickly to really grab ahold of you.

Mole 0 Report post Posted March 12, 2004 I am just posting in here right now because it is my 7000th post and since I post in here the most I want it to be in here. This thread is what I always come to first and I always love the discussions we have about Angel/Buffy. It will be a really sad day when Angel is gone, that is all I have to say. Which frightens me given the crappy quality of most British shows.. ie: visually - the film stock or videotape, not the actual shows.
