Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2004 I'm going to miss Drew Goddard, Steven S. DeKnight, and David Fury, for starters. Yeah, Drew's going to Alias, but supposedly that show starts midseason (?). I just really hope the actors and actresses can find good work after this. Sure, David Boreanaz probably has enough to live comfortably and just do the occasional movie, but I really want to see these guys flourish like I know they can. I'm going to miss the way this show can seemlessly combine comedy, drama, action, and romance. I mean, I've watched other TV shows (outside the Jossverse, I mean), and they don't even come CLOSE to the way Angel combines these elements. I hope, if they do a "Previously On..." tonight, it's just for this season. I always thought "The Gift" montage was stupid, because everything past season 2 went way too fast to even notice. If they spent, say, 2 minutes recapping this season, I'll be happy. And finally, Willow's magic addiction = laaaaame. I like season 6, but that storyline just wasn't very good. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2004 James Marsters will probably just spend more time on his Band and maybe do some stage acting and a few appearances in movies here and there. David Boreanaz will probably just do occasional work. Charisma Carpenter already has a TV show lined up. Alexis Denisof I could see doing some TV Drama down the line or something. Maybe join one of the Law and Order shows. I don't know why, but I could see him doing that. Kind of like Kate did. J. August Richards, Amy Acker, and Andy Hallet (sp?) might get other work, but who knows.
Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2004 ...and David Fury just posted at the Bronze Beta! Take care, all. It's been fun. Enjoy ALIAS next year with Bell and Goddard, SMALLVILLE with DeKnight and THE SHIELD with Craft and Fein. Ben Edlund and I will be opening a little ladies apparel boutique in Carmel next year. Hope you'll all patronize our little shop.
Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2004 I don't even care if it's a Buffy/Angelverse show. At some point I'd like to see this group of writers get back together and work on something, because damn, can they go. Pretty cool that all of the people going to shows are going to pretty big ones. Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 At this point, I don't even care about the movie. With that episode, they went out on TOP. I'm kinda sorry I read the spoilers, but actually watching the episode was 10000000x more enjoyable than reading it. I loved every second of it. Thank you, Mutant Enemy. Guest JMA Report post Posted May 20, 2004 PLEASE. SOMEONE. ANYONE. Tell me I'm not alone in hating the drunk-with-MaJiK Willow storyline. For the love of everything that is good and pure, please restore my faith in humanity here. I didn't like the drunk-with-magick-Willow storyline. I DID dig Evil Willow, though. Guest JMA Report post Posted May 20, 2004 Joss could always do a Connor based spin-off. The WB might be interested in that since it would bring in the teen audience.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 I heard that Marsters wants to do a Spike-based spinoff Oh, and the scene with Wes and Fred/Illyra, that was great. And how she killed the wizzard, GOLD~
Guest JMA Report post Posted May 20, 2004 I heard that Marsters wants to do a Spike-based spinoff That would be cool. I wonder if the WB would pick it up, though. Oh, and the scene with Wes and Fred/Illyra, that was great. And how she killed the wizzard, GOLD~ Oh my God, that was fucking AWESOME. The body change in mid strike, the skull shattering, just great. Hank Kingsley 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 Uhm, guys, I'm guessing a lot of people haven't seen the finale yet, so, I don't know, maybe we should keep it on the down-low for a little bit? (Granted, anyone crazy~ enough to come into this thread right after the finale without seeing the episode may deserve to be spoiled)

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 Oh maaaaaaan I read the spoilers but this is the kind of episode that fucking goes waaaaaaaaaaaay beyond that shit! God DAMN that was what I call television! Right there, RIGHT THERE is the best Angel of all time, and fuck it, it's the best motherfucking Buffyverse episode of all time, and I'll come over to your house with a motherfucking sword and "work"! if you don't agree!!! One last time baby! 1! That final moment fucking owned everything. "Let's work" (or "lets get to work" or whatever~!) is so my new fucking thing to say whenever anything happens. I was so fucking pumped after that, I think it was the perfect ending. I was jumping around my house kicking shit and yelling "YES YES YES YES YES!" What am I saying yes to? I DON'T KNOW! If the question is "Did you fucking love every (EVERY) second of that episode" then there's your fucking motherfucking answer motherfucker! 2! Wesleys death. Tears in my eyes. I was watering up. I watered up when I first read the description, and I was on the verge of crying like a little girl. God DAMN, I was worried that they wouldn't give it enough time with time left in the show, but it was perfect. You'll hear me say that word a lot in this... perfect... that is. I just loved the fact that he wanted the lie and that Illyria was crying for him. Jesus Christ, that was beautiful. BEAUTIFUL. How in gods name can people create such things, how can they make me feel this way? I love it. I feel all warm inside. It's a fabulous feeling. Fred saying "we'll finally be together" fucking did me in. God damn that's manipulative writing and I... LOVE... IT. 3! Fuck it. I'm pimpin it. HAMILTON IS A PLAYER! Jesus God Damn that was a fine addition to the show. His deadpan delivery and the subdued cockiness - oooooh I'm all about that shit. GREAT fight scene! "Now, tell me the one word you shouldn't have said there" - BLOOD MOTHERFUCKER! YOU SAID BLOOD! YOU GOT KNOCKED THE FUCK OUT~!!!!!! 4! The comedy. THE COMEDY! This had EVERYTHING in it - it made me tear up, it made me get right the fuck into it, and it had be LAFFING hysterically. Two things in particular: - Spike at the Poetry Battle. Spike raising his hand. Spike saying "at least it's not you" - Harmony asking for a reference and Angel having it on the table. 5! Lorne shooting Lindsay. That was COLD BLOODED. Man, they just made Lorne one of the darkest characters in that one moment. "He's not coming for you. Go." "Where would I go?" That's a sad moment that'll probably get lost in the shuffle. Very nice stuff. But MAN was that cold blooded. The silencer was a nice touch. "I was killed by a flunky". 6! When I first read how they were going to kill Sybassis, I loved it. When I saw it, I loved it. A nice twist, a very nice twist. 7! GUNN! Capping off his ALL STAR season proper~! First with Annie and her perfect response, then by fucking NAILING the senator in the head with a hatchet, and then -finally- making those 10 minutes count!! ALL STAR PLAYER!!!!! 8! Harmony in a bra. DAMN! Have I mentioned how happy I am she was included in this season?! 9! Illyrias head tilt when the lights came on - it was exactly how I envisioned it. I would have liked to have seen her wreck house, but I guess I'll settle her MORPHING FROM FRED AND PUNCHING CYRUS' HEAD OFF! JEEEEEEEEESUS!!!!!!!! 10! Great resolutions here, IMO. Angel signing the Shan Shu, Connor FINALLY being grateful for all his father has done (great save there too!), Wes and Fred "being together forever"... all it was missing was LILAH~, and I can easily forgive them for that, because this episode was flawless. 10 Spot OUT~! The Dames 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 One of the best resolutions in there that I really appreciated was Spike's. He performed his "bloody awful poetry", the same one he read and was laughed at the night he was turned...but was cheered on at a Poetry Club, finally appreciated for his art. I loved that. RRR said everything else that needed to be said. Dames
