The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

I've wondered this about the people in this thread. Who still watches wrestling?

 

The more I got into Buffy/Angel, the less I could stand WWE. I found it hard to care about wrestling when shows like Angel really delivered. I used to religiously watch Raw, and now even if it's on and I'm at home with nothing to do, I still would rather do something else. Weird, since I've been watching wrestling forever.

 

Anyways, thoughts?

I haven't watched it in like a year and the last two years or so I was into it it was mostly just being really bitter and hateful about it.

 

I think it has more to do with WWE just being terrible than Buffy. Though I guess the fact that I had Buffy to watch as well made it easier for me to quit watching wrestling.

 

 

 

I'm so obsessed with Buffy now. I can't imagine life without it. I am really worried the whole Buffyverse is going to die and there will be nothing to watch or talk about and I'll go crazy. I hate how WWE just goes on forever even when it's awful.

I just watched Fool for Love with the commentary. OMG what a great ep. I love the "beneath you" thing. Not enough other scoobies though. It has to be one of the best non-Xanya centric eps.

 

 

God the later years are so much better than the highschool years. The Cordy/Xander ship is like the worst ever. Of course Xander cheating on her lead to the best thing to happen to Sunnydale EVER, but that's like it. Oz is the saving grace of the high school years now.

Angelus is really good, but it's like 9 eps out of 3 seasons. Passion and Becoming 2 are two of the best moments in Buffy though. Still, for every one of those there's like 3 Inca Mummy Girls.

 

 

The best thing about season 3 is Wish, Dopplegang Land, Prom and Grad Day.

The only good thing about "The Prom" was the award Buffy got and Angel coming to the Prom to dance with her. Other than that, the episode sucked big balls.

There's also Buffy being drained by Angel, which I now realize is totally landmark, because it was really the only way they could really have flat-out sex and consumate their love without Angel going all bad. I'm starting to favor season three more than five, and at the moment my list would be:

Yea, but the Willow/Xander relationship was the best ever and it was retarded how they killed it off after Season 3.

 

Plus I think seasons 1-3 are better because of how the characters were more together, they seemed like really good friends. After HS, they drifted away from each other a little bit more each year.... to the point where they were kicking Buffy out of her house at the end. It made sense too because she had turned into an annoying super bitch, and the only one she was still real close with was Dawn.

 

Another thing is in the HS years, the show was dark but it was light hearted and funny at the same time, which made it fun to watch. There were lots of bad things happening but they still managed to get past it and not go livejournal on us like they did in the later seasons. I mean Buffy was being stalked by her lover who was killing and torturing her friends just to get at her. How can running out of money and having sex with another vampire and fighting a bunch of nerds compare to that?

 

The only great seasons were Seasons 2, 3, and 5. 4 and 6 were good. 1 was okay. 7 never happened.

Willow and Xander together is weird. It's like a brother and a sister getting together.

 

Scoobies in misery is good tv. Unless it's Xanya, they need to be happy while the others are in pain.

 

 

 

Season 4 under season 7 is a tragedy. The Xanya goodness alone makes it better. Plus you've got a coherent theme and arc, a competent big bad, more sets than just Buffy's house, no Rona, and how about that Xanya? The origin of break up sex, the hand signal in Hush, "orgasm friend", Xander living in a basement, romantic syphilis, bunny suit, stand up about ducks and more! Season 7 just has bitterness, eye injuries, a little break up sex and death. You can't compare them. Did I mention Rona isn't in season 4?
