AnonymousBroccoli 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 Not much to speak of in 5B5, but there's always the classic Becoming scene. http://www.geocities.com/deviousbroccoli/t...hecleavage.html On a much less perverted note, I will say that Julie Benz has a really sweet, soothing voice. I'd say the same about Mary Steenburgen.

Mole 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2004 Since Mole has blatently stole my gimmick and Anyaka has raised the bar for obsession, I shall now have to find a new character to love.. Any suggestions? I'm thinking Darlas Cleavage - which really should have been credited cast members on their own. And stolen with Pride.
Guest Brian Report post Posted August 31, 2004 Episode 11, "Life During Wartime": Previously: Buffy gets in between Riley, in full commando suit, and Angel fighting in “The Yoko Factor”. Angel, v.o.: You actually sleep with this guy. Angel, Spike, and Illyria are facing a legion of demons. Angel: Let’s get to work. Cut to Connor getting pulled back into the Hyperion. Kent: This is his fight, not yours. Rudy, v.o.: Our time will come, boy. Then we’ll see what you’re made of. Cut to a member of the Order of Soraska pulling out the books out of the Hyperion ruins. Lone, v.o.: As for right now, you’re searching for the Order of Soraska. Powerful group of guys. Cut to Connor slashing Rudy under his eye with the stake, with Rudy already bruised and battered, then Rudy falling out the window. Connor, v.o.: Is it over? Cut to the Order of Soraska killing Rudy and proceeding with their ceremony. Flash to show the three members dead along their symbol. Cut to Kent translating the symbols, writing “DEATH WILL RISE”. Scene 1: <Kent is buried in his books on the desk, head on his hands. He skims down the page, then closes it and throws the book against the wall, obviously very frustrated. He buries his head in his hands and sighs. A knock comes against the door.> Kent: Come in. <Connor peaks his head in the door.> Connor: Everything alright in here? Kent: Yes, Connor, I’m fine. I was just swatting at a bee. <Connor picks up the book from the floor, walks over and hands it to Kent. He inspects it.> Connor: You must have missed. Kent: It’s been feeling like that lately. <Connor peeks at the sheet of paper.> Connor: Prophesy? Kent: More like a warning. Connor: Well isn’t someone a little full of themselves. I mean, DEATH. C’mon now. Why not the predator or the destroyer? Something a little more classy than just death. Don’t these guys have anything better to do than just come up with the cheesiest nicknames possible? Kent: I doubt that’s what they were aiming for. Connor: Still, I mean considering that this guy has some kind of an advertising machine behind him and some hype, you’d think they would have done better. Were all the good names taken? Kent: No, I think that they really meant it. There’s no hype to it. Connor: Oh… <Cut to a green demon, a frog-like creature with horns, crouching in a corner as a shadowy figure approaches it. Camera cuts away as green blood is splattered across the wall.> Scene 2: <Connor is warming up with the punching bag just outside the door. He delivers a series of blows against the bag. He begins warming up kicks against the bag. The door opens and out walks Kent with two fencing blades. He throws one to Connor, then falls into form.> Kent: Warm-ups are done. Time to start training. <Connor moves the blade along his hand.> Connor: Where have you been keeping these? Kent: They’ve been staying warm. <Kent charges with an overhead swing. Connor blocks, and he loops around and heads low. Connor blocks again, then swings but Kent blocks and bring the two blades to the ground.> Connor: What’s happening? Kent: You need to be stronger and faster. You need to be ready. <Kent breaks and slides back. He pokes but Connor blocks. Kent drops his sword but kicks away Connor’s. Kent spins and they match forearms twice up high and once down low.> Connor: Have you been holding back? <Eliana enters the scene, watching from the doorway.> Eliana: You guys are having a little too much fun out here. Why wasn’t I invited? Kent: Fun left the building a long time. This is all serious, and I’m not sure you’re ready for this. Eliana: I’ve been out there fighting. Tell him Connor. Connor: We’ve been working together a lot lately. She’s definitely ready. Kent: You didn’t hear me out. But the thing is, none of us are ready. We have no idea what is happening, what’s going on. We definitely aren’t prepared. That said, we’re going to need to get ready. It’s “Life During Wartime” out there. Connor: What was that? Kent: Nothing, just a little wisdom from the Talking Heads. Remembering some of my prime at CBGB. Connor: You sound like you’re older than my dad. Kent: And we’re only getting older standing around here. <Kent uses the point of the blade to edge along a block in the upper area of the tunnel. Kent yanks down a cinder block, and then pulls out a suitcase from the gap. He turns the combo and pops the latches, then opens it up. Inside are a small axe and a gun. He pulls out the handgun.> Kent: That means all weapons. Connor: What about the axe? Kent: Special occasion. Don’t worry about it. <Kent extends his arm towards a targets. He shoots a bullet into the target, hitting the bullseye.> Kent: Worry about the gun. <Cut to three large, red, armor clad demons squatting in an alley.> Demon #1: I don’t know if we’re going to be able to lose this guy. Demon #2: I can’t believe how strong he is. Demon #1: We can’t wait here for him to kill us. We have to get moving before he shows up. <Demon #3 raises his head and sees over his shoulder.> Demon #3: It’s too late. <Cut to Connor walking the streets at night with Eliana.> Connor: He said I wasn’t ready. Can you believe that? Eliana: And he had a gun. Connor: He wants me to get back into training. The basics. Like I’ve never killed anything before. Eliana: And he had a gun. Connor: That axe in the suitcase; what was that all about? What was he doing carrying around a gun anyways? Eliana: That’s what I’ve been saying Connor: He doesn’t trust me at all does he? He thinks this is some kind of glorified babysitting job that his Power That Be forced him into. And what are these Powers anyways? Eliana: Don’t worry about it. I’ve seen you fight, I’ve seen you save people, and that’s what’s important. <Eliana pauses and looks around> Isn’t it too dangerous out here at night? Connor: It hasn’t been that bad in a while. Ever since that night, it’s been pretty calm out here. I haven’t had much time to just look up at the stars, admiring the way things are. Eliana: That’s probably because the smog out here is blocking the way. You’d think without the factories and such open and running, this place would clear up a little. Connor: No. It’s peaceful up there. There’s nothing like it out here, nothing to compare it to anymore. Just chaos. <Connor stops and put his arm in front of Eliana. He pushes her into a doorway, then readies his sword for a strike. A demon flies around the corner, and Connor swings the sword, taking off its head. Connor turns the corner, but gets shot at with a blast, causing him to fly back. Two people in army fatigues and full gear approach the fallen Connor slowly, both with their guns aimed at him. Cut to black.> Scene 3: <The two soldiers approach Connor on his back with their guns raised. Suddenly, Connor spins his legs up and kicks one of the guns out, landing in a kneeling position. He grabs the gun of the other, dragging him in and hitting him in the neck. He staggers back as Connor aims. The other man goes to his holster but he’s stopped by the other man.> Soldier #1: Stop, he’s human. Soldier #2: Are you sure? Connor: Of course I’m human. Now who are you? Soldier #1: Special Operative Riley Finn, Major, United States Army. This is Sam. And you are? Connor: Connor. And Eliana, you can come out now. It’s about time you guys showed up, we could use the help. Are there more of you? Riley: No just us. Connor: You’re a little understocked for the situation then. Riley: We’re her on reconnaissance only. Connor: You look like you can hold your own. You must feel a little restricted working with those conditions. Sam: We’re just making sure we don’t get killed. We’re getting a feel for the city, and what we can do. Connor: There’s not much too feel for. Demons, broken down buildings, and dead bodies. Riley: We’re just hoping to figure out why this is happening. How did you survive out here anyway? Connor: Long story. Riley: Good. Maybe you have something that can help us. <Cut to Kent, walking up the sidewalk. He pushes open a door, with a bell ringing as it opens. He walks into a clean shop.> Shopkeeper: Welcome to my small shop. Feel free to browse, but you know that we’ll be closing soon. Kent: I see on the sign. Shopkeeper: Feel free to look around. But no loitering. <Kent looks around. He picks up some things off the shelf, looks at the back label, and then puts it back in its place. He walks the length of the aisle, and then heads back to where the shopkeeper is. Kent picks up a bottle of olive oil and holds it up to the light.> Kent: I don’t get it. Shopkeeper: First cold press. Kent: No, I don’t get this. You’re in the middle of an apocalypse, and you’re the only shop still around. What are the odds? <Shopkeeper spins around in his chair and begins to do something with his hands on an adjacent table. He shouts over his shoulder.> Shopkeeper: 31,752,950,723 to one. Kent: How did you? Shopkeeper: Are you going to buy anything? Because… <The shopkeeper points to a “No loitering” sign.> Shopkeeper: It’s just about time for me to close up for the night anyways. I will open again tomorrow at nine A.M.. You can continue shopping again then. <The Shopkeeper ushers Kent out the door. Kent turns around outside the door as the Shopkeeper turns the sign over to show the shop is closed.> Scene 4: <Kent leaves the shop, obviously dissatisfied.> <Cut to inside the shop. The Shopkeeper sweeps up around the shop. He puts the broom away in the closet. He peeks outside the window and sighs.> Shopkeeper: It’s really too bad what they’ve done with this place. Hopefully, Connor is what they’re looking for. <The Shopkeeper heads to a door marked “Employees Only”. He takes one look around at the store, then opens the door. A white glow emits from behind the door. The Shopkeeper turns the light switch and enters into the light.> Riley: So, your Angel’s son. Connor: I take it you know him. Riley: Vampire with a soul, brooding, perfect happiness turns him evil. I got the cliff notes going out with his ex. We had a little run in. <Riley makes a face while talking about Angel, which Connor picks up on.> Connor: He beat you up. Go dad. Riley: It wasn’t an even fight. I hit him, he hit me. Rinse, lather, wash, repeat. <Connor put his hand over his mouth but can’t conceal his laughter.> Riley: I got some shots in on him too. Sam: Agent Finn. Riley: Anyways… Eliana: Why hasn’t anyone else come over here? Where’s the cavalry? Riley: I don’t know if there will be a cavalry. Government wants no part in this, really. They sent us here to see if something could be salvaged, if there was anything to be saved. They’ve quarantined the area, put up barricades and fences, called it in as a terrorist attacks. They’ve dealt with large scale operations before concerning demons, and the results weren’t quite so good. Sam: They want to wash their hands from this stuff, keep it low key, low profile, barely in their jurisdiction. They want to keep people on the floor but they don’t want to push things. Connor: So they’re ditching us. They’re gonna chicken out just when they’re needed. What’s the use? Sam: We’re not saying that. We’re here to observe and they’re going to evaluate. Eliana: But they don’t want to come in. Connor: What about this spree of killings? Is it your handywork? Riley: We’ve been doing a little work around here, but nothing on the scale of what I’ve seen. Some of these things are to strong. Sam: Do you have a safehouse? Connor: We’re just about to head back. <Cut to Kent working out with the punching bag using his bare knuckles. He’s dressed in shorts and ragged tee shirt. He’s punching his heart out, dancing around, and drenched in sweat. In walks Ronin.> Ronin: Where’s the boy? <Kent grabs the punching bag to keep it from swinging.> Kent: What’s it to you? Ronin: Something big is on the rise. Kent: Like DEATH? Ronin: From what I’ve seen. Kent: Don’t worry. We have it handled Ronin: Is that what you tell yourself at night? <Kent walks up to Ronin, away from the bag.> Kent: Do you have something you want to say to my face? <Eliana, Connor, Sam, and Riley enter into the scene through the tunnel.> Eliana: Welcome to our humble abode! Our very, very humble abode. Scene 5: <Kent and Riley are in the kitchen. Kent is preparing a little food.> Riley: So you’re living down here. Kent: It’s not really safe living above ground. Riley: No, I’m not saying it is. But this is really nice down here. Trust me, I’ve seen worse. Kent: There’s not much in the way of choices around here. Riley: Running things by a generator. Kent: Only power source in the city. Riley: It looks like a bomb blew up out there. I haven’t seen anything comparable to it in terms of demon activity. Kent: There’s nothing to compare it to. And no hope in sight at times. Riley: I talked to Buffy… Kent: The Slayer. Riley: Well I guess she’s one of many right now, but she said that she doesn’t want a part of this place. She says it is Angel’s mess, his fault, his problem. She wouldn’t say much more. Kent: It’s too bad. She could really help out here. A lot of people could. <Cut to the living room, where Eliana and Sam are talking separately.> Sam: This is pretty much how I got involved. Not really intentional, just a big mess I happened to survive. Eliana: And the whole thing, do you ever get used to it? Sam: I think you just adjust. Eliana: How can you adjust? This is just so different, so foreign, and the stench of death is all over. I live in a sewer. Sam: I guess it just grows on you. <She looks out the door and sees Riley.> Eliana: Don’t get me wrong, there are parts of it I like. But on a whole, I’ve lost so much and things are so different. Sam: It’s hard sometimes. But you know you’re doing the right thing, when it comes down to it. And that’s what’s important. <Something starts beeping. Sam looks at a cellphone-like device.> <Cut to a bedroom where Connor and Ronin are each talking, sitting on a cot.> Connor: Do you know what’s going on outside. Ronin: Something big. Connor: Hopefully it’ll put up a fight against us. <Riley walks in.> Riley: Do you guys want some action? <Pauses, looking at the two on the cot.> Forget I said that last part. Do you want to kill something? <Cut to the six walking down a sewer tunnel. Riley and Sam are leading, Kent is in the back.> Sam: We’ve tentatively named it a Kruglor demon. New breed. <Riley turns, walking backwards.> Riley: I wanted to call it a Rileysaur. Sam: Not very big. They’re all breeds we haven’t seen before, and they’re all either bigger or stronger. We’ve been tracking a half dozen demons over the last day, but this seems to be the only one that hasn’t died. Observing, watching their actions, and keeping tabs. Now we are going to see how they fight. Riley: All are other homing devices have died out. Know explanation, but I’ve seen enough corpses to realize what’s going on. Connor: So we’re going to kill it? Sam: Right about now. <A small, four foot tall demon is standing in front of them with grayish skin and scabs all over, looking very frail and limp.> Scene 6: Connor: That’s the demon. I could fit this guy in my back pocket. Sam: Riley, arms. <Riley and Sam raise their guns. The demon looks frightened, then suddenly morphs into a much bigger demon, with a set of two rows of spikes running up each side of its back, bulging biceps and legs, and a mouth of sharp, jagged teeth.> Sam: Fire. <Sam gets hit across the face. Riley fires but the shock fails to flinch the demon. He pulls a stick from his belt and presses a button, causing it to triple in length. He swing but his hand gets caught. Riley throws a backhand across the face, but the demon just smiles back. He grips Riley’s wrist even tighter and Riley reels. Connor shoots a stake at his upper arm, causing the demon to drop Riley. Riley falls back to a knee. Kent swing his sword but the demon grabs his arm. He uses Kent’s sword to block the samurai and sidekicks him away. He holds Kent’s arm and neck, and hip tosses him into the wall. He comes straight at Riley and but Connor emerges in his way. The demon punches Connor in the face and Connor returns fire. Another punch sends Connor reeling to his feet, but he leg sweeps the demon causing it to fall on its back. The demon tries to get up but Connor throws a hard punch on his knees, bringing the demon back to the ground. It shrinks back down to four feet in height. Connor lands a stake in the side of its head, then gets up and helps Kent to his feet. Riley is lending his legs to help Sam walk off.> <Back in the lair, Connor and Eliana are dueling with the two fencing blades. Kent, Sam, and Riley are sitting down at the table.> Kent: Do you want my opinion, my advice? Well, either way, I’m telling you right now you should leave. Get out of here. I understand you’ve been trained to fight demons, and I can tell you’ve had some field work. But out here, you’re training is bollocks. I’ve found out mine is too. There’s only one person capable and has the ability to withstand the fires of this hell. Connor may be naïve and he may be a little short sighted in terms of judgment, but he’s the strongest one here and the only one who’s survived this type of ordeal. Me, her, we’re just tagging along and I’m helping where possible. But you guys have nothing on that. You’re outmatched out here. Riley: After that fight, I agree. I’ve seen enough of these monsters to know they’re tougher than anything I’ve had to deal with, and they’re also in control. There is nothing for us here. Sam: It’s unfortunate we’re going to have to concede an entire city. Kent: You’re not. You’re going to trust us in this endeavor. Riley: Well, then we’re going to catch our flight out. Good luck. <Riley and Sam shake hands with Kent and get up from the table. Sam walks over to Eliana and Connor. Riley brings his wrist to his mouth, clicking a button.> Riley: Mission complete, ready for departure at 04:00 hours. <Cut to Eliana and Sam talking.> Sam: Do you want to get out of here with us? We have room on the chopper, plus you get to repel down at the end of the ride. Eliana: I think it’s more important that I stay here. Sam: I can’t persuade you otherwise? Eliana: I think it’s the right thing Sam: No problem. <Riley walks over.> Riley: We’re ready to go. Sam: Connor, can you walk us out. Connor: Yeah. <The sun is just breaking out, but it is still dark on the streets. Riley and Sam are standing next to each other across from Connor.> Connor: I guess I got to see today how my dad beat you up. Riley: Hey. Sam: Take care of this place Connor. We’re going to recommend the government keeps up its current programs. This is too much for us out here. Connor: I guess it’s just me now. Sam: It’s not just you; you’ve got Kent and Eliana. Don’t give up out here. It’ long and hard, but you’ll eventually overcome it. Riley: Take care of Eliana. <A search light focuses on them, and then goes out. A line falls, and which Riley and Sam couple themselves onto. They slowly lift off. Camera cuts to Connor looking on. Ronin reaches Connor.> Ronin: We have more work to do. <Camera cuts to a view from an empty building, three hundred yards away, looking at Connor and the samurai.> v.o.: Yes, you do. <Fade to black.>
Guest Brian Report post Posted August 31, 2004 Here's a great line from "Slouching Towards Bethlehem": ANGEL We didn't find her, she just showed up. With no memory, no idea who she is or where she's been. WESLEY Fresh start. Doesn't sound so bad.

Anya 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2004 I watched Dopplegangland today on FX, even though I had just recently watched it on DVD. I think D'Hoffryn changes colors. He is more blueish later on than he is in that ep. I don't know, maybe it's the lighting. He is like brown in it and then blue in Something Blue. Maybe it's a vengeance demon thing, like how Anya's hair changes all the time.
