I think I'll watch some Dawson's Creek. The drama in the show is so damn funny and that Joey Potter, she's a character.

Region 4, mate. All Angel and Buffy DVDs were selling for $35 at Kmart, including S7 of Buffy. Quite an excellent deal. Here's a better one for all you Aussies though...

No, it's true. The scoobies are so much cooler than Angel's crew. Buffy is so much funnier. Buffy has better villains. Buffy is more watchable. I can watch Buffy eps like 30 times. Can't do that with Angel, it gets boring.

We'll never agree on this.

 

Angel is more of an adult show and had more of an overall series storyline than Buffy. The whole series was one big storyarc, while Buffy was more of the each season arc.

 

That is why I like Angel better.

And just a side show? How so?

When I think of the Whedonverse I think of Buffy. I think of the scoobies and I think of Buffy eps. It is #1. It is my main focus. Angel is a spinoff. It's like a side story. It's something I watch in addition to Buffy, not with it like it's the same. It's like Heat compared to RAW. I don't care about it nearly as much.

 

 

And that's not really saying anything against Angel. It's more putting over Buffy. Angel is my second favorite show and I am obsessed with it...just not as much.

Heh. I was actually insinuating that your opinion is held in such low regard amongst fellow Smarks members that what you say holds little to no weight in any argument or discussion. I'll stop trying to be subtle with my digs from now on, just for legibility, I promise.

 

Regardless, staying on topic, I disgree with your statement that Warren was a better villian because, and I quote, "Warren is hilarious. That makes him better." Ok... since when does comedy make a better villain? Sure, Warren is a more enjoyable screen presence because of the hilarity, but a villain by definition, is a wicked or evil person. How wicked can an evil person be if they make you laugh and laugh often? I think the ideal villain is menacing, dark, violent and most of all, ruthless. The Trio, on the other hand, were not menacing, nor dark or ruthless... they were funny and borderline huggable (Come on! Who doesn't wanna hug Jonathan!? Poor guy). This is why I disagree and believe The Beast was a much stronger and intimidating villain, I mean really, did anyone ever once want to hug The Beast?

Heh, she did, didn't she? But then, it really wasn't Cordelia, was it? Silly higher power. I guess you're right, the Mayor was amusing and ruthless, but the evilness always shined heavily through with that guy... not so much with the Trio.
