dubq 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2004 one quick query for you guys, what's up with all this love for Beast? What's so cool about him, he was a lame puppydog puppet for Cordy/Jasmine and got beat by a piece of himself, pretty lame for the all powerful one. I guess you guys think hes a better villian than evil cordelia(probably right there) or even jasmine or somethin right? Hey, dipshit, use the fucking SPOILER tags, m'kay? Guest Brian Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Got something new after watching "Salvage": 1727- Liam is born in Galway, Ireland. 1753 - Sired in Ireland. Massacres the entire village, including his family. 1764 - (York, England) Holtz is already on the hunt for Angellus and Darla, where they slay his family. 1765 - Followed by Holtz, Darla and Angel take refuge in a barn in France before their cover is blown. Darla ditches Angellus. 1765-6 - Angellus catches up with Darla in Vienna. 1767 - (Marseilles, France) In transit to Morocco while fleeing Holtz. Traveling with James, Darla, and Elizabeth. 1771 - (Rome) The monsignor assists Holtz in his capture and torture of Angellus before Darla arrives with reinforcements to bail him out. I'm pretty sure this is the last confrontation between the two. 1789 - (Prussia) Angel is on route to Vienna when he meets the Beast. Angel is beat to near death before the Beast is banished. 1799 - Angel sires Penn. 1818 - (Dublin, Ireland) Kills Daniel on Christmas. 1838 - Romania 1845 - Tuscany, Italy 1860 - (London, England) Angel sires Dru, who once had the visions. 1880 - (London) Dru turns Spike. Darla has left Angelus for the master. The three massacre a wedding. Spike finds Angel messing with Dru after telling him she was his "destiny". And the two fight, with Angel prevailing and giving the young'un a lesson. 1880 - (Yorkshire, England) On the run from London, the four take refuge in a coal mine during the day. 1890 - Angellus is watching Jezel (ballet) by the Valiznikov troupe. I'm assumingthis is in St. Petersburg. 1894 - (Rome, Italy) - Being tied up with Spike so the Immortal can have a three-way. 1898 - (Borsa, Romania) Ensouled after murdering a gypsy girl that Darla brought Angel. 1900 - (China) - Angel tries to reunite with Darla during the Boxer Rebellion. Spike defeats a slayer. 1902 - (New York, New York) Angel arrives in the US. 1920s - (Chicago, IL) Angel saves a puppy 1920s - (Juarez, Mexico) Angel fights Boone over a senorita for three and a half days before the sun comes up and Boone lets up. 1930s - (Las Vegas, NV) Hanging with Bugsy Segal. 1930s - (Missoula, Montana) Reasons unknown, passed through during the Depression. 1943 - (Atlantic Ocean) Angel is being used by the US government to help recover a captured sub. 1952 - (Los Angeles, CA) - Angel is at the Hyperion where a poltergeist is in control of the hotel. Angel is hung and leaves before he can slay the ghost. AnonymousBroccoli 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 I'm wondering what everyone's favourite and least-favourite Joss-written episodes are. Here's a list of every one where he's credited for writing and/or story. Buffy Welcome to the Hellmouth (1x01) The Harvest (1x02) Nightmares (1x10) Out of Mind, Out of Sight (1x11) Prophecy Girl (1x12) When She Was Bad (2x01) School Hard (2x03) Lie To Me (2x07) Ted (2x11) Innocence (2x14) Becoming, Pt. 1 (2x21) Becoming, Pt. 2 (2x22) Anne (3x01) Amends (3x10) Doppelgangland (3x16) Graduation Day, Pt. 1 (3x21) Graduation Day, Pt. 2 (3x22) The Freshman (4x01) Hush (4x10) Who Are You? (4x16) Restless (4x22) Family (5x06) The Body (5x16) The Gift (5x22) Once More, With Feeling (6x07) Lessons (7x01) Chosen (7x22) Angel City Of (1x01) I Fall to Pieces (1x04) Sanctuary (1x19) Judgment (2x01) Happy Anniversary (2x13) Waiting in the Wings (3x13) Spin the Bottle (4x06) Conviction (5x01) Smile Time (5x14) A Hole in the World (5x15) Not Fade Away (5x22) I'm sure there's no shortage of favourites for anyone. I'd go with Becoming (both), The Gift and A Hole In The World. For least favourites, I Fall To Pieces, Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight and Happy Anniversary (he only did the story for those), and unlike Rudo, I wasn't especially fond of Family. Anya 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 The Gift is my favorite ep ever, from any writer. Most season openers are boring, but Anne is especially lame. I always thought Nightmares was very boring. It drags on so much. Even Joss seems to agree that it was weak in the Restless commentary.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 too many DVD's out now... Alias season 3, Punisher, Res Evil deluxe edition... already got Angel season 4... now I can't wait for Buffy 7 so I can watch the crossovers completely.

Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 That's what you get for the bunny hell stuff. It's karma. Awakening is awesome. I like the Indiana jones vibe. Although I might be getting it today. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Here's the basis for the theory, I'll expand as needed: Jasmine was a senior partner 1. Jasmine stripped away free will, essentially destroying humanity (Tro-Clan prophesy). Expand on TCP. You're being pretty liberal with the word "destory". 2. Jasmine's face was almost exactly like Voca's (from to Shanshu in LA), who was from the underworld, after the glamour was stripped away. I'd blame lazy effects guys for this. 3. Skip was a freelance, mentioning that he was a merc in "Inside Out". Dunno what this has to do with anything. Skip was the guy who imprisoned Billy, why would WR&H imprison their own guy? 4. Jasmine used evil to do her work. Yes. She was a former power that turned bad. Bad people tend to do evil things. However, she had some good intentions... or said she did. The Road to hell is paved with em... 5. Beast severed her connection to the other Senior Partner's relatively quickly after gaining her memory, by destroying Wolfram and Hart. The Beast wanted what was in the conduit to block out the sun. 6. The prophesy said that Wolfram and Hart would sever angel's connection to the PTB, and did so through Jasmine taking out Cordy You are forgetting that Skip was the one who helped Cordy in maintaining the visions by turning her into part demon. Guest Brian Report post Posted September 10, 2004 Expand on TCP. You're being pretty liberal with the word "destory". From Offspring: Wes: "It's not clear on that. It predicts the arrival or arising of the Tro-clan, the person or being that brings about the ruination of mankind." Gunn: "So it's a two for one. Isn't that nice." Wes: "And I'm not sure on the translation. Ruination may in fact mean purification." Gunn: "Purification? So this Tro-clan is a good thing?" Wes: "I doubt that. But it's purification in Aramaic, ruination in ancient Greek and in the lost Ga-shundi language it means both." Now, compound what happened with Jasmine. She did both. By taking away the hate, she purified humans. But she also stripped away their free will, destroying the essence of humanity, what makes them different from animals. Dunno what this has to do with anything. Skip was the guy who imprisoned Billy, why would WR&H imprison their own guy? It means he could work for both the Powers and, after he was betrayed by them through Angel, a member of the opposing party. It would explain why he maneuvered Cordy, as payback at Angel. The Beast wanted what was in the conduit to block out the sun. In Cavalry, Lilah says that the Beast took out all of Wolfram and Hart, including field ops and people on leave. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 Now, compound what happened with Jasmine. She did both. By taking away the hate, she purified humans. But she also stripped away their free will, destroying the essence of humanity, what makes them different from animals. You are, again, being pretty liberal with your interpretation. This is a stretch. Meanwhile, you have the characters on the show as well as the writers on the show saying that Jasmine was a former powers. It means he could work for both the Powers and, after he was betrayed by them through Angel, a member of the opposing party. It would explain why he maneuvered Cordy, as payback at Angel. Or he could have been working for Jasmine -former PTB- all along and that he was part of an elaborate plan which included Cordy getting and keeping the visions. Which was the explanation given on the show, I believe. In Cavalry, Lilah says that the Beast took out all of Wolfram and Hart, including field ops and people on leave. WR&H was also competition to Jasmine as they had the resources availible to prevent Jasmine from spreading her message. This still falls in line with the "former power that be" stuff.
Anya 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 Jasmine refers to herself as a power that be. What more do you want? I could watch the Angel opening credits all day. The theme is like the best ever. What does the J in J. August Richards stand for?
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 Got up to 'Apocalypse, Nowish'. And while it did have the debut of The Beast, it also had something else that was even more memorable: "Keep them on."
Anya 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 She's an evil bitch. Wes should be with Fred.
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 10, 2004 Actually, I don't think Skip ever said that Jasmine was a PTB. Just something they couldn't conceive. He did say, however, that he was merc and went wherever the money was. I'm going to have to sort through some episodes to figure out the Wolfram and Hart stuff. And what was the official word on how they all became zombies? Was that just a massive contract clause? God, there's a lot of stuff I love about Inside Out but Evil Cordy is not going over well. But Connor/Darla, Angel making his choice, and Skip makes me all gooey inside.
Anya 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 Why would Jasmine lie about being a power?
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 10, 2004 If she was a senior partner, then there be a lot of reason. And there had been a lot of questioning of the PTB from Angel inc. at that point, so they needed some validation.
Tawren 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 I'm 8 episodes in on Angel season 4. A kick ass start to a kick ass season. Although am I the only one who doesn't like the Wes has his own gang? Just doesn't seem to fit well. Just a minor thing, though.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 Yes, she would've lied due to the same reason why any bad guys does. To throw the good guys off the trail and fuck with them, not to mention that Jasmine's ultimate plan and her illusion might've been shattered if she revealed she was a Senior Partner, not a benevolent and perfect PTB. The biggest problem I have with this theory is that Angel had to completely buy into her being a rogue PTB in order to sign on with W&H. Part of him signing, in addition to helping Connor, was the thought that he no longer had the PTB's confidence, so he had to take things into his own hands by taking the fight to W&H. Then again, perhaps this is why Jasmine lied, and was able to get away with it; another part of the ultimate plan which Angel stupidly bought into due to his state of mind at the time. Personally, however, I'm still split on the "was she a PTB or wasn't she" issue. There's good points for either side.
Anya 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 She calls herself a PTB even AFTER her plan is crushed. She calls herself one even after her true face is revealed and she has lost everyone's attention.

dubq 0 Report post Posted September 10, 2004 She's an evil bitch. Wes should be with Fred. Do you understand anything about these shows? Everything isn't supposed to be 100% peachy keen all of the time. In fact, the best thing about it, is that nothing is ever stable. Anyone is game to be killed off. Relationships never last. Everything is desperate, dry and cruel as life often is. If you want the opposite, then go watch crap like the Gilmore Girls.
