Anya 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 I didn't get the Angelus thing. Like why was he crucial to her plans? What was the point of blotting out the sun and the rain of fire? 75% of the season doesn't seem to match the last part, as far as evil schemes go.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 24, 2004 Mostly to distract from what was really going on. Until Jasmine shows up it's all misdirection.
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 24, 2004 Jasmine's omniscient. She knew Angel was going to ruin her plans, she just didn't know how. She was trying to get Connor to kill him. That's my take.
Anya 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 Mostly to distract from what was really going on. Until Jasmine shows up it's all misdirection. That's a lot of work for a "distraction". This is the same fan explination we get for FE's nonsensical plans. Jasmine's omniscient. She knew Angel was going to ruin her plans, she just didn't know how. She was trying to get Connor to kill him. That's my take. If she's omniscient shouldn't she know Connor would fail at killing him? It really seemed like she wanted Angelus as a cronie, not just to kill him.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 24, 2004 It makes sense that most of what happened was to keep Team Angel busy though. Jasmine was her most vulnerable before she was born and it would make sense that she would need to stay under the radar. It also made it easier for Cordy to hide away upstairs and keep the pregnancy a secret from everyone until it was too late. It also allowed for her to gain control of Conner. And to some degree I think she never expected Angel to stay as Angelus. Again by having Angel turn again she's diverted everyone's attention to getting Angel's soul back and ignoring Cordy. Think about the spell she had said would fix things and I think you'll see how much Jasmine was about misdirection.
Anya 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 Ok, but like, why not just have Cordy take a vacation or show up from Heaven in Ohio or something instead of the hotel? It's like both in Buffy S7 and Angel S4 the first half of the season is spent hyping and hyping and hyping these huge, eleborate schemes that are like the biggest thing ever and it ends up being......a distraction. Even if you can fit it together it's still really underwhelming.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 24, 2004 Well she still had to bag Conner so that was one of the reasons why she had to come back to L.A. and then she was kind of just stuck. I don't think anyone was going to let her go on vacation and with Angel out of the way Conner was more than enough protection against everyone else.
Anya 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 No one would have stopped her from leaving right after Apoc Now. In fact Angel seems so pissed he would have prefered her to get out of there. She should have never revealed she was evil. Or even been evil at all. Had she just come forward and said omg I'm mystically pregnant again everything would have worked out. The whole thing is really convoluted(and wasting a great villain and plot) for something that doesn't really end up meaning a whole lot in the end.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 24, 2004 Well I think part of the problem is Charisma Carpenter could've pull off the villian role very well. I think the really stupid part in the early was her trying to control Angelus. That was just a weak idea and watered down Angelus as a result.
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 24, 2004 She wouldn't have gone anywhere without Connor. Maybe it wasn't her being omniscient, maybe she doesn't get the wholep icture. I still think she brough forth Angellus to get Angel out of the picture, just like she sent Connor to kill Angel in Orpheus.
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 24, 2004 Since I'm totally heartbroken about the way the tournament has gone, what are you're top eight Buffyverse episodes ever? I know the tourney's gone totally unexpected for everyone, so I thought this would be a good idea. Here we go, in no real order: To Shanshu in LA Reprise Home A Hole in the World Shells Not Fade Away Becoming Part 2 The Gift
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 One thing to ponder, what was Jasmine's ultimate plan? To take over the whole world right? Then what? I mean what was her motivation? Besides eating people, it seemed like all she wanted was for people to obey her and be peaceful. That's the only thing that has bothered me
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2004 She wanted to be worshipped. I recall her asking "only" for a temple to be built for her.
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 24, 2004 She didn't want to sit back and serve man. She wanted man to serve her. The eating people, IMO, was mainly to keep up that glamour. Everytime she ate, she reverted back to the old form than to the glamour again. I'm assuming that she needed to devour to keep up her powers.

Guest Brian Report post Posted September 24, 2004 I'm sporting the Wyndam-Pryce look today. I went into the Men's warehouse today to get a new jacket and I saw a brown suede overshirt, decided I liked it, and picked it up. Didn't realize it was the same until I watched Apocalypse Nowish today. What's happening to me... As long as I don't start getting obsessed with syphillus jokes, I should be fine. Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 Ravenbomb, you've GOT to use "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZtop. well, I wanted to do a "The Wall" video using the whole thing, and this fits better than anything else I've got. So I might still do that, but I want to try this first.

Mole 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 What's with the top 8? That is an odd number to choose. All of your picks are predictable. 1. Apacolypse Nowish 2. The Wish 3. Spin the Bottle 4. Passion 5. Becoming Pt 2 6. Smashed 7. Calvary 8. Grave
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2004 while I was watching Angel (picked up season 4 Thursday) I got to thinking...what if the two big bads for that season were the other way around? Like, what if the First was the big bad for Angel, and Beast n' Jasmine were on Buffy?
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 25, 2004 Jasmine challenged themes that were specific to Angel, so I doubt it even work. You'd probably have to do it like Glory.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 well, you'd have to tweak it a bit, but they might've worked on the opposite shows
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 26, 2004 I'm doubting it, because you'd have to totally change Jasmine around. She wanted be a PTB, her take over plan would have been different because LA is a media center, and the whole thing surrounding her probably wouldn't have been as interesting since I doubt we'd get the free will storyline and you'd never have Connor as the guy who always sees her for what she is, a lie. Plus, I doubt they would have had that cutesy "Chosen" ending. Besides, I think Buffy had as close when they got Glory. And they did well with it. Interesting how in both Season finales, it is the main character taking charge and "saving" the others.
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2004 yeah, Jasmine wouldn't fit Buffy so much, I guess. First might've fit Angel easier than Jasmine would fit Buffy. *shrug* Just a thought And I'm probably going to use of Tomorrow in the Wall video for When The Tigers Broke Free, so I guess it's 3 seasons instead of just the
Guest Brian Report post Posted September 26, 2004 I'd love to tackle the idea of the First in Angel. I think the First in Amends knew that the vampire with a soul was going stop its apocalypse, and it tried to turn Angel to take it out of the picture, and would have settled with Angel killing himself.
