Mole 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2004 So what is going on right now with the Angel episodes? I've been pretty busy, so I haven't been around much.
Mole 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2004 Has anyone noticed that Buffy.nu isn't working right now? It says that the domain is available to buy, even though I was there earlier today.
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 28, 2004 We're on "Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been There" (How many people know what song that's from, bonus points). It airs tomorrow morning at 8 for those who don't have the DVDs. I concur on the stuff where Angel turns his back on people, and pretty much everything that's being said. The one thing I wanted to point out was how the demon harnessed the worse in people, the evil, just like what Wolfram and Hart did. And like when Angel has his revelation later on, he just gives up on people.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2004 Why aren't you watching LOST, Brian
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 28, 2004 Baseball season is keeping me from watching any new TV. I caught some of it, liked it, but I might wait to watch it until I can get a bigger feel for it.
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 28, 2004 Wesley stuff was begging to be posted: Wesley: "I've been accused of a great many things in my time, but *paranoid* has never been one of them." Gunn shakes his head and looks over at Cordelia. Wesley: "Unless people been saying it behind my back." Wesley: "Angel - you don't - find me - especially paranoid, do you?" Angel: "Not especially." Wesley: "Oh, thank god! - I was worried."

Mole 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2004 I am watching The Late Late Show right now, only because Jason Alexander is the host. Well, Rachel Bilson from the OC is on right now. He said that she was on Buffy at one point and I don't remember her at all. I looked it up at IMDB.com and it said she was Colleen from "Dirty Girls." Anyone know which one that is? Anya 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2004 She's one of the SITs in Xander's dream. That scene is weird. It's like the only time you see or hear of Xander's place in late S7. I didn't even know he still lived there. There's a scene in an early ep where he's sleeping over at Buffy's. I always wondered why he didn't have more Scoobs and SITs live there. Like there's no reason for Anya and Giles to live at Buffy's. Anyway, Dirty Girls really sucks.
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 29, 2004 First Impressions today. Sucked. Cordy/Gunn centered episodes, especially without developing Gunn's character at first, are not good. I ddi, however like the Darla/Angel stuff.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2004 "First Impressions" is a stumbling block for me. I can't remember a lick about it, and the first two episodes were good and I don't want this one to suck and ruin my Season 2 high.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2004 First Impressions today. Sucked. Cordy/Gunn centered episodes, especially without developing Gunn's character at first, are not good. I ddi, however like the Darla/Angel stuff. YOU ARE HIGH "First Impressions" was great. That whole disc is great. Season 2, thus far, is fucking great. "Who doesn't love Denzel" (~!) That whole 'beat up' scene was fantastic. Like, Fantastic Awesome. Fantawsome. It was fun to see how Gunn rolled before becoming part of AI. The only really bad part about it was Cordy preaching to him that he's on a suicide mission, but that foreshadows Angels plight so it's all good. David Hermans character I miss. I miss a lot. Cordy getting hot over his financial advice was sweet. I would have killed for a "What, there are no black people from where you come from" from Gunn to Cordy at the Party. Angel and the Motorcycle. "Oh, don't be such a wanker" HOW COULD YOU SAY THIS EPISODE SUCKED??! And finally, Darla. Oh Sweet Sweet Darla. Darla in a sundress? I swear, I almost toasted a load right there. When she has David mounted and the way that dress comforms to her ass.. Oh sweet sweet can... that's like the hottest moment in Angel history. Shit, they're building that up so wonderfully. ---------------------------------------- "Untouched" was another fucking swank episode. When she opened the door and her father was there (BOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I *freaked out*. Lilah in a POWERSUIT~! was pretty hot. Holland was great, so calm and so fucking smarmy. "Lindsey thinks about the big picture and won't stop until he accomplishes his goals" (Holland) is so fucking amazingly accurate (Season 5) Cordy saying Angel can't fire her or Wes (~!) Angel entering the crime scene and acting like a detective... HIGHLARIOUS. -------------------------- THUS FAR!~ Judgement - 81% Are You Now or Have Ever Been - 90% First Impressions - 83% Untouched - 85%
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 29, 2004 The plot was not that good though. Sure there are individual moments that were great, and so was the foreshadowing, but focusing the plot was weak. The foreshadowing is awesome in a ton of episodes, so we have to evaluate this on the story. Cordy preaching to Gunn was so weak. Deevak was weak. They needed to more with Gunn's character prior to this episode, especially when they paired him with Cordy.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2004 I'm not looking at this as individual stories, because it isn't. In every episode so far the Monster Of The Week played second fiddle to character development and the overall arc. Infact, one could say, the villain in every episode here is the one inside. Like what Cordy said to Gunn in "First Impressions", her vision was Gunn hurting Gunn. In "Have you now..." the villain was the insecurities people carry with them. In "Untouched" it was our past and letting it get the best of us. In "Judgement" it was getting ahead of yourself and putting the wagon before the horse. The demons were just a device to let all this develop. That Angel is being manipuated through his dreams is no concidence. That Lorne can "see inside" when people sing is no coincidence. That when Angel goes bad, he doesn't turn into Angelus, is no coincidence. Personal Demons are the ones that matter, not the ones with horns and scales. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2004 I found this over the news wires: Stephanie Romanov, who gained fame as the foxy attorney Lilah Morgan on the hit WB show "Angel", announced her pregnancy to a group of people at an evening event. It is not known at the moment whether or not the father is famed message board uberposter and superhunk RavishingRickRudo.

Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2004 A better question: are any of these pregnancies mystical? and how many of them are evil? for real though, I'd say if the trend continues SMG is next. or Alyson

Angel - The Complete 5th Season, which Fox is announcing this Halloween weekend (how appropriate!) for an in-store date of February 15, 2005. Fox's information shows that this will be released in 16x9 Anamorphic Widescreen, which is what we would expect (please read the "Video" section of our 4th Season review, as well as Creator Joss Whedon's statement for more details). Sound is in Dolby Digital Surround 2.0 for each of the English, French, and Spanish soundtracks provided. Also found are English and Spanish subtitles. List price is $59.98 (CAN$89.98 in Canada), for 990 minutes that cover 22 episodes. Among those, look for a special re-appearance by Charisma Carpenter as Cordelia. Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2004 For those that are interested, I just found out that Charisma Carpenter will be on NBC's LAX this season, playing Heather Locklears cousin, or sister or something like that. MAn, i can't wait for that DVD set. And only a few more weeks till Buffy season 7 (and I'm hoping they put all of the deleted scenes back into Chosen).
