RavishingRickRudo Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Dude, I've been watching it. Jeez, miss one show (but still catch the rerun a few days later!) and all-of-a-sudden I've given up on the show... SORRY! We all can't be perfect like ME!
Mole Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 It seemed like you gave up on the show. I forget you have the option of catching the rerun a few days later.
RavishingRickRudo Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Just because I proclaimed Firefly as my new-god and Angel as a lesser-god doesn't stop Angel from being godly. - RRR's lesson of the day.
Mole Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 HOWEVER...... From the spoilers you read, could Angel become the bigger GoD again?
Hank Kingsley Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 God, RRR's posts are tempting me to read the spoilers something fierce. But I WON'T, because I know everything will be THAT MUCH BETTER when I don't expect it~
Mole Posted February 2, 2004 Report Posted February 2, 2004 Yes, hold back from temptations. Just think if you read that Lindsay was coming back; it wouldn't have been anywhere as cool.
Jingus Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 Okay, I gotta ask something. I've seen countless markout references to THE BEAST~!, but I only started watching Angel recently, and have never actually seen the damn beast. Just what is so cool about it? (And don't give me the "wait and see it yourself" crap, nobody's playing season 4 reruns, just tell me.)
Hank Kingsley Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 THANK YOU, Jingus. I've been wondering that myself. It's not like he looks THAT intimidating, and the only things I've seen him do are brief clips of the rain of fire and blotting out the sun (from the "Previously on..." in Orpheus)
Mole Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 THE BEAST, was just so gansta. He was so fuckin huge, nothing could defeat him and he was just so damn cool. But I'll let RRR do this....
RavishingRickRudo Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 YOU FUCKING FOOOOOOOOOOOOLS!!!!!!! YOU DARE NOT QUESTION THE SANCTITY OF THE BEAST~!!!! 1. THE BEAST came out of the ground in quite the epic fashion and then beat the shit out of Connor (*thumbs up*!) 2. THE BEAST is fucking HYOOOOOOGE! Biggest Big Bad (at least, in non CGI form) that anyone in the Whedonverse has had to deal with. 3. He was made out of ROCK! Therefore you couldn't really hurt him. 4. He talked really slowly and calmly in an Eastern European accent but not in a really cheezy Dracula kinda way. 5. He PWN3D Team Angel on the rooftop even no selling BAD ASS WES's advances with the GUNS~!!! 6. Even though he was big, he could MOVE~! LIKE A CAT~! 7. He couldn't be destroyed ... at least, until they killed him off in the LAMEST fashion just to put Angelus over (which was BULLSHIT - as with his fucking Master being CORDY! FUCK THAT BULLSHIT!!!) 8. He lit the fucking sky on FIRE! He made a RING OF FIRE WITH THE BODIES OF A BUNCH OF DEAD YUPPIES! That's so fucking cool. [ 9. He was MYSTERIOUS~! as in no one knew who he was, what he wanted, what he was doing, why he came out of the ground. He had everyone wondering and guessing and questioning his purpose! 10. He wasn't funny. At all. Which is a change from the norm in the Joshiverse. He was like Glory, without the minions or the humour - just 100% ass WHOOPIN. You look at him, and you say "I ain't gonna fuck wit that guy", you see him WHOOP ass and you say "I ain't gonna fuck wit dat guy" - he's just someone you don't fuck wit. So basically, "He was so fuckin huge, nothing could defeat him and he was just so damn cool."
RavishingRickRudo Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 And IIII wiill remember yoooouuuu.... (Doobie do bu do be dah) Wiiiil yooou remember mee?
Cavi Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 The Beast really did have a badass voice, I thought.
fazzle Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 Eh, I don't get the big deal with the Beast. I mean, he was tough, but I don't know really how bad ass he was. Plus his feet looked really goofy. And all he ever did was throw people into walls. That's it. You charge him, and he'll either A) backhand you into a wall, or B) grab you and throw you into a wall. Or over a ledge, if there's no wall available. But he just needed some variety in his fighting style.

Just watch "Apcolypse Nowish" and see what he does.
areacode212 Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 OK, for those of you who are like me and are going insane counting down the minutes before WB shows the 100th episode, everyone's favorite episode downloading site has the "You're Welcome" teaser up right now. I can see them uploading Act 1 as I type this, but it looks like it's being uploaded on a 56k modem because it's progressing REALLY SLOOOWWWLY. By the time it finishes, 9 p.m. won't be far off anyway. Anyway, I was really, really hoping for a "The Gift"-style previously, but the version I downloaded didn't have one.
Mole Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 Yes I am basically counting down the mins. I doubt WB will do "the Gift" previously on, but that would BE THE GREATEST THING EVER. And I read the previews for the next 4 weeks, which isn't really spoilers but sort of is, and wow, shit's lit. I can't wait for that one episode which features: Fred almost dieing and Gunn going bad...? Yes, I cheated a little bit, but not really.
Hank Kingsley Posted February 4, 2004 Report Posted February 4, 2004 Mole, was that the TV Guide listing thing on buffy.nu? I wasn't really reading anything, but at the bottom I saw "The End of Fred" and FREAKED THE FUCK OUT! I didn't read anymore but I'm hoping that's not what I think it is.
Mole Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Yup it was. I was VERY VERY tempted to read the real spoilers, but I didn't do it. Thank GoD....
Anakin Flair Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 CORDY! anybody else waiting for The Rock after that airial shot? Anybody else not like this season's opening credits? The Spike stuff seems forced, and the Group shot at the end looks terrible. At least on Buffy they took a shot that was used in an episode.
Hank Kingsley Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Bah, no "Previously on..." That would've been a nice touch.
Hank Kingsley Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Eve mentioned "Life of the Party"...gold~
Anakin Flair Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Spike playing X-Box, Lindsay mentioning his hand...gold~
Hank Kingsley Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 Holy jesus, the Doyle commercial
chaosrage Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 lmao at spike shaking the TV YOU STUPID PLUMBER!
Hank Kingsley Posted February 5, 2004 Report Posted February 5, 2004 This episode is just so amazingly awesome ALREADY. The references to past episodes are great, and Lindsay is just rocking it.
