dubq 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 How does looking like a more pussified Joey Lawrence NOT make you look ghey or even gay for that matter. That's what I was wondering...
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 Here's one to piss off the Star Wars fans. Star Wars is nothing but a serial western like Monogram used to pump out in the thirties starring John Wayne before he got famous. Isn't that common knowledge? Seven Samurai, Westerns, 50's car culture are all big influences on Star Wars.

pochorenella 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 His hair looks ghey. As in stupid. To me. You know? Would you like an essay on the topic of why I think his hair looks stupid? You're entitled to your opinion, but you don't have to answer like you think you're better than me, you punk. If you just don't like Star Wars just say so, don't be a wise ass. Go read your initial reply and tell me who was being a punk. His hair has nothing to do with not liking Star Wars... I don't think I ever mentioned not liking Star Wars, to be honest. *checks* Nope. I didn't.

BorneAgain 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2003 (edited) I was disappointed with Ep 1 and 2 but I am still looking forward to the last one just to see Anakin’s transformation into Vader. BTW, does he kill Portman in this? I don't know, in ROTJ they seem do indicate that she died a year or two after the twins were born, but they never specify how. WrestlingDeacon 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2003 Hey poch, I think a better question to you would be to explain how he doesn't look ghey. Seriously, Anakin is pretty like a bitch in that picture. Actually, there a shit load of parallels between Star Wars and the Man Who Shot Liberty Valence. Reluctant hero out of his element steals the thunder from the rogue with a heart of gold in defeating an enemy who seems to be more bluster than anything else. Both men fall for the same girl. The rogue hero has a big silent sidekick. The relunctant hero rekindles the fire of a washed up older man. The villain is the enforcer of a nebulous threat oppressing the last hold outs in a small community. There's a lot of High Noon in there too. But mostly, it's like the old cliffhanger westerns where you have black and white characters jumping from one narrow escape to the next.
pochorenella 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2003 Well, the picture looks fine to me. The Jedi are supposed to be (at this point, at least) all clean-cut looking people, that with their nice hairdos and stuff. Here Anakin looks kinda scrubby and like he didn't wash his hair or something and has a mean-type look in his eyes. I just think it fits with his expected downfall. But I guess we'll have to see more pictures or footage to really tell.

And I don't think anyone answered this, but is that picture of the same actor who played him in E2:AOTC?

bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2003 i introduced one of my friends to SW last month, who'd never seen any of the movies, and knew very little except some vague stuff about Vader. ANH: he loved it, thought Threepio was hilarious, favorite out of all 5 ESB: he liked it, but was annoyed at the cliffhanger and that the bad guys sorta won (even though he was gonna watch ROTJ the next day!) still loved threepio and totaly dug Han in here (he bust a gut laughing when he heard the 'I love you' 'i know' exchange for the first time) ROTJ: Liked it also, but towards the end only cared about Luke/Vader/Emperor and not the other stuff EP1: "Okay, but not as good as the originals." "I didn't like that Joo Joo thing, he was annoying." "Man the whole thing was Qui gon's fault" EP2: Liked it better than Ep1, keeps insiting for some reason that Anakin should go evil by raping Padme (i think he was joking...), not as good as the originals. I thought it was pretty interseting to see someone unaffected by the hype, avoided scifi like the plague, thought of all star wars as 'geek fare', (you know those type of people, of course i got my revenge because now he's a big fan), come to these same conclusions. It was obvious even to him the newer ones lacked something, heart, a spark, a zip (though EpII was better in that regards).
