Gert T 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2003 I know you guys have been in the NFC for the second year now, but you still had the games against the AFC West last year. How did you Seahawks fans feel about realignment? I know the argument was all the other teams had been around longer, but still hadn't the Seahawks been in the AFC West for 25 years? Maybe it isn't a big deal at all, but it just seems weird going from playing the Raiders/Broncos/Chiefs/Chargers every year to Niners/Rams/Cards. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

MrRant 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2003 The rivaleries are gone with Oakland and KC so that hurts. It feels odd playing the Rams and 49ers twice a season and it also makes you feel like an expansion team. Last season was difficult because there is still no reason to really "get up" for any opponents in the division since there isn't any hate like what had been developed over 20+ years in one division. Hopefully in a couple years we will feel that way. On the plus side we get to see a lot more teams we aren't used to seeing like Washington, the Giants, Green Bay, etc. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2003 A similiar thing happened with the Buccaneers. They didn't leave the conference but they where rivals with the rest of the NFC Central. But wouldn't it have been Los Angeles and Seattle? Tangent question: When they showed the scores with the city abbreviations, like CHI or SEA or BAL or what have you, how did they write it out for the Rams and Raiders? You've got NYJ and NYG for the Jets and Giants, but you can't do LAR and LAR because that's obvious. LAA and LAN for AFC's Raiders and NFC's Rams? I didn't watch much football when L.A. had teams. The only real rivalry the Bucs seemed to have was the "Bay of Pigs" stretch where Tampa and Green Bay were horrid. I think the move to the NFC south was great because it seems there could be some nice inter-state rivalries brewing. Chicago, Detroit, Minnesota, Green Bay, TAMPA? razazteca 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2003 The AFC was always a competitive division, as it had the Elway Broncos, Marcus Allen Raiders, Kelsey Winslow Chargers, and Marty Ball Cheifs to contend with every year.
