Guest Ray Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 Yeah...he could have a good match a decade ago. Everyone knows about the Bret match from 94. His five minute KOTR match with Owen was quite fun. I think he wrestled Benoit in Japan. That might be good, but I haven't seen it. Also haven't seen the tag with Hall vs Nash/Michaels people talk about. So yeah, what are his best matches?
Guest RollingSambos Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 Well, he pretty much carried Flair/Piper/Greene v. nWo Wolf Pack from Slamboree '97. His match with Flair at Souled Out was fun and probably *** territory. His pay-per-view debut match against Owen (KOTR '98?) was highly underrated, IMO. His matches with Jericho are pretty underrated... He got some good stuff out of Kane during his heel run... His best stuff was definitely from 1994-1997. He didn't have bad matches in the WWF, but they weren't **** material either. He was pretty fucking unmotivated from 1999-2001, and one of the last times that I saw him really try was when he was working against Kidman and Tajiri during the InVasion days. Those were some good matches. I think that his BEST WWF match was at No Way Out 2001 when he was in the fatal fourway with Benoit, Guerrero and Jericho. That was a damn good match.
Papacita Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 Yeah, his match with Bret, the Kliq tag from Action Zone, the 4-Way from No Way Out, and his series with Kidman were all good. My favorite from the Kidman series was the one they had here in Philly where X-Pac unified the Cruiserweight belts. He busted out a lot of his old 1-2-3 Kid offense (I marked out for the somersault plancha) and finished with an X-Factor off the top...I really liked that match. I liked his series with D'Lo over the Euro title in 98, and for what it was, the match with Shane at XV was great. In 95, he had some good matches with Hakushi too.
Fökai Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 I really digged his Summerslam 2001 match with Tajiri - of course, in those later days, he was only motivated when he was booked to win.
Betty Houle Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 I really digged his Summerslam 2001 match with Tajiri - of course, in those later days, he was only motivated when he was booked to win. whatever.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 All his early 90's stuff against Jerry Lynn and the matches he had in Japan were all really solid. There is a match from some indy where he fights Sabu and the match is awesome!!!!
Guest ToddRoyal Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 One of the first Invasion matches was RVD & Kidman Vs. X-Pac and someone else (Jericho?). That was the first match I remember seeing "re-motivated" X-Pac, and it was a pretty good match as well
SamoaRowe Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 Best Sean Waltman matches? X-Pac vs Shane O Mac (Wrestlemania 15) X-Pac vs Chris Jericho (Cage match) Syxx Pac vs AJ Styles (for X title) Syxx Pac and AJ Styles vs Jeff Jarrett and Sting
Guest BAR Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 30/10/94 is my favourite from Waltman. ****1/4 for me.

Guest RollingSambos Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 I forgot all about the D'Lo matches and the Hakushi match from SummerSlam '95. Good calls.
Tawren Posted September 25, 2003 Report Posted September 25, 2003 30/10/94 is my favourite from Waltman. ****1/4 for me. And that was...?
Guest Ray Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 30/10/94 is my favourite from Waltman. ****1/4 for me. And that was...? Google is your friend. Shawn Michaels & Kevin Nash vs. Sean Waltman & Scott Hall I need to get this match...
Guest TheCrowCall Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 I remember a match X-Pac had vs. Eddie Guerrero in late-2001 on a SmackDown that rocked, not sure on the exact date though. ~ Pac
Lil' Bitch Posted September 26, 2003 Report Posted September 26, 2003 My favorites were: Vs. Bret Hart (that one RAW) Vs. Hakushi (SS 95) Vs. Eddie Guerrero (Souled Out 97)
Guest Doyo Posted September 29, 2003 Report Posted September 29, 2003 Best would be him as Lightning Kid vs. Sabu - NWA Grandslam 4/17/93 This was on one of the first tapes I ever got and I still have it if anybody wants to trade. He was one of the very few American wrestlers to do a Japanese jr. style at that time. Yeah, his early 90s bouts against Jerry Lynn were among his best.
Guest krazykat72 Posted October 4, 2003 Report Posted October 4, 2003 I agree with the poster who claimed Waltman's peak was '94-'97 Aside from the Bret Hart and Famous Kliq tag match (which imo shows how great Shawn really was), he had a very good match with Michaels right before Wrestlemania 12 that lasted about 10 minutes on RAW, as well as several good to very god matches with Scott Hall in that time period as well. -Paul Jacobi-
Mrnoitaull Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 If the four way @No Way out was the one where Jericho came out on top, then yeah I'd have to say that was one of his grester ones. And that unified match was the shizz as well. Kind admired that match against Jericho (early smackdown cards) wher he catches Jericho in the broncobuster while he's in the tree of woe( though it looked kinda gay)
SamoaRowe Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 I remember a match X-Pac had vs. Eddie Guerrero in late-2001 on a SmackDown that rocked, not sure on the exact date though. ~ Pac That match happened on Smackdown on the same show that featured TLC 3. It was a great match and it as one of Eddie's last matches before he was suspended and ultimately released. I don't remember the exact date, but it was the first Smackdown after Judgement Day.
