kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 So I got HBO Zone and they play OZ Tuesday and Thursday at 11 p.m. Tonight I'm guessing was a season finale because it seemed a lot of storylines were wrapped up, but I could be wrong. Anyway, I'm just curious as to how far in the series I am into. SPOILERS AND STUFF -- GO AWAY IF YOU DON'T WATCH THE SHOW! Tonight's show featured some IRA guy trying to blow up the place, that preacher guy getting sealed in a wall, and Beecher getting denied parole. In terms of the series, is it almost over?... NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 You are pretty far into the series. If I remember correctly there are 6 seasons(even though techincally they had seasons 4a 4b and 5a 5b so that would be more than 6 seasons) I'd say you are almost to the last season. If you go to hbo.com/oz I believe you can find an episode guide and description for every episode. This was my favorite show on HBO. I thought it was very underrated and was PISSED that it kept getting passed up for Best Drama nominations. I own seasons 1 & 2 which are availble on DVD.... IMO, Seasons 2 & 3 were the series best. Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Oz is one of my favorite shows EVER, and yes, it was undeservingly snubbed for awards EVERY FUCKING YEAR. I have the available DVDs and the book "Behind These Walls", which is a must read, even if you've never seen the show. I never found anything about the show bad except for Spoiler (Highlight to Read): the surreal "experimental aging drug" subplot. Also, KKK, the episode you saw was the season finale of the fourth season. It is definitely the strangest finale the show ever had, but it leads to one of the show's coolest moments during the beginning of the fifth season. I'm not going to post a spoiler though because it's something you must see and not read.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Yeah, Wad, I saw the episodes your spoiler contained -- that was kinda strange. It feels so weird to cheer skinheads one minute, then the muslims the next (although I'm partial to the muslims, I love the Hank S. character). I wish that guy who knows the warden (tried to kill him in tonight's episode) would just die already...

You are at the end of the second half of Season 4 (Season 4 was 16 episodes long and was split into two totally seperate eight episode arcs). You have two seasons (16 episodes in all) left of the series.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Oz is my favorite show...behind Buffy of course. Everyone rags on the later seasons, but with the exception of a couple bad ideas every season is great. Aging drug was dumb, and the death toll in the last episode was a little much. Plus I was mad pissed with the way they ended Alverezes charcter at the end.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Speaking of. I'm watching "The Handler" right now, the new Joey Pants show. Beecher's on the show. Sounds like he plays an FBI guy.
JasonX 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2003 Oz is my favorite show...behind Buffy of course. Plus I was mad pissed with the way they ended Alverezes charcter at the end. Alverez is a classic example of a character who stayed around long after his usefullness was used up. Miguel should have died during the HMO storyline when he attempted to hang himself after he blinded that guard and went insane from the guilt he felt and the claustrophobia induced insanity. Would have been a better and much satisfying way have the character go out on....
