Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 So yeah my two quarterbacks are Ramsey and Manning. On paper it seems like a no-brainer to go with Ramsey as he has the hot hand. But in my head I keep thinking that one of these weeks Manning is going to break out with a huge game (20+ fps). So what do you think?
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 26, 2003 That's a rough call to make. I'd say ride Patrick one more week and see what happens. EDIT: A small question. In my league I have Hasselbeck and Gannon as my QBs. Hasselbeck will probably be the starter for my team after this week but should I shop Gannon around for a trade? CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 I wouldn't. I'd hate to trade Gannon and then have him go absolutely insane once Porter comes back.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Yeah that's my real concern. He carried my team on his shoulders after Holmes went down last year. I think he might catch on fire but at the same time he still has trading value and I'm tempted to see who would be willing to part with who for him.
Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 I'd go with Ramsey as well. Here's my own question: I have Donovan McNabb and Drew Bledsoe in one of my leagues. My question is: who should I start? Thus far they have both put up sterling negative numbers each time I decided to start them. I am leanng towards Bledsoe because at least Buffalo has a good defense, and I believe the Eagles' secondary has been decimated by injuries. So, should I go with Bledsoe? McNabb? Or that wonderfully talented QB "None" because 0 points is better than negative points?
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 26, 2003 I'd say Bledsoe. He's only had 1 bad game so far and still has a talented receiving core. Don't start McNabb until he proves to you that he can play a good game this season.

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2003 Will, I'd suggest Bledsoe. The Eagles secondary is decitmated. Bledsoe and McNabb both had bad weeks last week and I think it'll be Bledsoe who rebounds. Personally, though, if you feel that both will go negative again, go with Mr. 0. I wouldn't blame you. Plus, the Pats are a bit banged up on D, so I'd expect better numbers there as well. Bias alert: I have the Drunken Canadian Kicker in my keeper league, so of course it's in my best interest for Manning to do well, but never make it past the 20... But given the Bills D, I'd still go with him. In my case, in my other league, I have Bledsoe, Brad Johnson and Fiedler, so I really have no choice in the matter. Oh, and don't take the goose egg. That's like immediately surrendering a King-8 when the dealer is showing 9. What's the point in playing the game if you're not willing to take risks?
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 I hope you picked Manning. He has almost 300 yards and FIVE TDs, and it isn't even the fourth quarter yet.
KingPK 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 Manning's pretty much carried the Colts offense on his back tonight. If you played Ramsey, I'm so terribly sorry.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 He has six now. On one of my teams, I had Manning on the BENCH. This week has sucked.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 He has six now. On one of my teams, I had Manning on the BENCH. This week has sucked. I'm glad I wasn't playing a team that had Manning as their QB. Yikes. And could I have been more wrong in choosing Ramsey?
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 I played Manning and am winning 105-40 going into tonight's game. I have nobody, he has Ferguson, Franks & Driver. I'm pretty confident. 4-0!
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 29, 2003 I could probably get Ahman Green from one of the teams b/c he has Trent Green as his starting back and Vick, who's not a sure thing. I would probably throw William Green in to further tempt him. My other options league wise would be Duece McAllister, Tiki Barber and maybe a hurt Clinto Portis but I'd porbably have to give up a good receiver.
Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 I went with Bledsoe, and he did decently, nabbing 11 points, and I won my game easily 76-64 with Donald Driver still to go for my team. That moves me to 2-2, out of last place, and I made up for last week's putrid 9 point performance.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 29, 2003 I'm ahead by 20 pts. with Ryan Longwell still to play and my opponent still has Marty Booker. So looks my team's starting 4-0.

I'm assuming you're still shopping Gannon around then. The general rule of thumb says that you don't trade a clear-cut starting RB unless you're getting one back in return. If you can swing a Gannon-for-Green deal, then by all means go for it. You may want to consider that the Packers are playing Seattle and the Raiders are playing Chicago next week. Gannon should do well and that would maximize his value. William Green is at a low in terms of value right now - I traded Crumpler and a 3rd for him and Kyle Brady in my keeper league. Still, if you're looking at getting McAllister, Barber or Portis you're probably looking at Green PLUS a receiver (a hot one, not necessarily your best one) to land one of them. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted September 29, 2003 Yeah. I figure what's the harm since I have Priest Holmes and no legitament no.2 back. I made an offer of Gannon, Green and Reggie Wayne for Clinton Portis. He's hurting pretty bad for receivers. He has Harrison and then his next best receiver is sub-100 in the rankings. I made an offer of Gannon and William Green for Ahman Green.
Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2003 Yeah, went with Ramsey. Gonna lose by about 25 points - in my league Manning got 30 (on my bench). Would kick my own ass if I could.
