Cubs better win tonight, it's the second to last step in the Yankees becoming the super heels of the league, the last step would of course be sweeping them in anticlimatic fashion.

Watch Contreras make irony seem like a sweet peice of cake with those chocolate flowers on it......

The evil axis powers of the empire of doom and gloom strikes again!!!!

Anyone who blames Grady Little for this is a complete utter moron and has NO clue about baseball.

Nomar is the reason Boston won't be playing in the Series this year, end of story.

Hmmm....really?

It's pretty much been accepted that Burkett was gonna do a shit job today against Yankees. So common logic dictates that Wakefield, the only guy that has stifled the Yankees so far, would be ready to get out there if the game looks to be breaking early. Burkett pitched 3 nice innings but knowing him, and his record against the Yankees, you HAD to know it wasn't going to last. As soon as he allowed a baserunner in the fourth, SOMEONE should have been up and warming-up (preferably, Wakefield.) But no, Little chose to sit on his ass and let Burkett pitch against a team that has dominated him various times before. So there, he wound up giving 4 runs and blowing the lead. It's a manager's job to know when it will be time to take out a pitcher. Little didn't do that.

Little has also been responsible for some of the stupidest stealing plays I've ever seen. The Red Sox haven't been hitting well against the Yankee pitching. Yet, how many fucking times has Little sent a guy stealing, hoping that Boston will connect. We've had way too many "strike-em-outs, throw-em-outs" that it makes me sick to count them. He's been responsible for killing several rallies in this series, because he has no concept of WHEN someone should steal, and when they should wait to be safely hit home so Boston can come closer to taking the lead.

But no, blame Nomar. Never mind there are 8 other hitters on the team. People the caliber of Manny Ramirez, David Ortiz, Bill Mueller, guys that have been hitting all year. Yes, Nomar has sucked in clutch situations. And yes, he's made mistakes in the field. But there are so many other guys on this team that have failed in the clutch and led to Yankee runs. It is far more ridiculous to blame one guy, in Nomar, than to blame the manager, who has made boneheaded play after boneheaded play.

If anyone's to blame, it should be Little.

The Red Sox should blame karma for their collapse. Its a shame class acts like Johnny Damon and Normar have the be associated with the msot classless team this side of the Toronto Maple Leafs. And who is really to blame? The Yankees. They just have too much talent. Did the Red Sox really think their rotation of Pedro, Lowe, Wakefield, and Burkett could hack it? Pedro is good, but a tad erratic. Lowe is iffy at best (0-3). Wakefield is amazingly hot and cold. And Burkett should be joining Kim on the sidelines.

Pitching wins baseball, and the Sox simply did not have it.

Oh yea, allowing people to steal 3rd base is retarded.

they just gave them the double steal...

so stupid.

Must have been Nomar's fault. Apparently, everything bad that happens to the Sox now is Nomar's fault. Not the man that is managing the team.

Exactly. Narrow minded Red Sox fans have to blame someone.

LOL

You people are really baseball gods I tell ya.

You wanna bring Wakefield out here on 1 days rest? Media hype can spin the "Being a Knuckleballer means he can throw everyday" garbage all they want but it's fake.

Grady takes way too much blame for doing things that most any manager would do when dealt with a mediocre pitching staff.

EDIT for stupidity.
