Bored Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Oh and the Red Sox are about the most bush league team I've ever seen with their childish antics during the game. Yeah like Miggy's grandstanding after catching a routine fly? Grandstanding or over excitement? Tejada needs to keep his emotions in check because he does this every fuckin' postseason where he just over swings every time at the plate. Anyways the "Li-lly" thing was bush league as it gets. Also throw in all the shit talking by the Red Sox. Gee Todd Walker I thought the Red Sox would have swept the A's.
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Wow dude, call a wah-mbulance. I know Oakland isn't like Boston and the passion isn't quite there in the stands, but calling the Boston players bush because the fans are taunting Lilly is stretching it.

I know Oakland isn't like Boston and the passion isn't quite there in the stands, but calling the Boston players bush because the fans are taunting Lilly is stretching it. Was I talking about the fans? Where did I say the Boston fans were bush league? I'm talking about the Red Sox players putting the "Li-lly" on the back of their jackets. I've never seen that done by "professional" baseball players during a game. Anyways I'm done ranting and I'll just say that the A's played like shit and didn't deserve to win but neither did the Red Sox. It was an ugly game all the way around and hopefully the A's win tommorrow and let it be forgotten forever.

Unless you just didn't watch the game you know what I'm talking about or read my last post.
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Who was chanting Li-lly? Twas the fans... Hey Bored, what was worse: the interference call, or the (correct) non fumble call in January of 02?
Bored Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Who was chanting Li-lly? Twas the fans... Hey Bored, what was worse: the interference call, or the (correct) non fumble call in January of 02? *sigh* Again I'm not talking about the fans I'm talking about the Red Sox players antics to encourage it. Maybe you just missed that part of the game. Oh and you assume I'm a Raiders fans which I'm not so I could give a shit about them.
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Ha ha ha ha good. I guess I missed what you're talking about then.
Guest Smues Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 "It's an elimination game and you've got to do what you've got to do," Fick said in a profanity-laced explanation. "I'm not saying I did it on purpose. But it's ... baseball." Anyone know what all he said?
Cartman Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 My girl and I are famous! We're on Redsox.com! Check this out: Me and my girl!
Vern Gagne Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Tejada stopped running because he saw the umpires hand raised. He should of kept running but still Boston got a huge break from the umps. Considering what happened a few innings earlier.
Cartman Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Not like bad calls haven't gone AGAINST Boston for so many years anyways. Nice to see a questionable call go OUR way for a change. That game was amazin, and watching it from the Monster seats was absolutely incredible. Best sporting event I have been to ever!
Bruiser Chong Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 "It's an elimination game and you've got to do what you've got to do," Fick said in a profanity-laced explanation. "I'm not saying I did it on purpose. But it's ... baseball." Anyone know what all he said? He probably said something about his pathetic attempts at being a carbon copy of Ty Cobb.
Guest BobbyWhioux Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Whenever a call goes your team's way, it's the first time, finally. Whenever a call goes against your team, it's the hundreth time, damn those stupid/biased umpires/refs again. The vast majority of fans for all teams think this way. It's natural. But neither assessment is accurate. Bummed about the Giants, but oh well. What can you say, the Marlins played better ball. When even J.T. Snow is making fielding errors (displaying traditional Buckner form, albeit on a harder hit ball in this case), that's when you know it ain't happening this year. And it didn't. Oh well. But that's the Giants for ya: 0 for San Francisco continues (is there a Curse of the Polo Grounds, too?)* So now I pull for the Cubs to come out of the national league. Game 5 is probably gonna be real good to watch, but I'll be at f'n work. Damn it. Hope the Twins take it to 5. A's, Sox. Game 4. Here we go. Burkett is a former Giant and a current Red Sox, and it's the postseason. Misfortune should be imminent for him. *Kidding. Sorta.
Guest Bobby Cox is God Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 I think the Fick play happend for a reason. Fick has played like shit in and cost us two games, and he hasn't hit for shit in the series. Being the intense guy he is, I think he was just letting his temper go. Was it right? No. Does shit happen? Yes.
tpww7 Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Tejada starts walking to 1st on ball 3, heh.
Guest Bobby Cox is God Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 I hope the A's win today, and with Hudson going it's gonna be difficult to beat him, 3 days of rest or not. I hate Morgan and Miller.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Red Sox are in quite the jam early. Bases loaded, 1 out. 1-0 As
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 Hmm. I think that the Red Sox might have a chance. Steve Sparks is in for the A's.
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 WOW!!!!!!!!!! Getting out of a bases loaded jam with 0 outs, and having Hudson be removed from the game?????? Is the tide turning??
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 2-1 Red Sox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 I think Eric Byrnes is the new villain in Red Sox Nation... inheriting the spot formerly held by such lumanaries as Roberto Hernandez, Craig Nettles and JAret Wright.
