Bruiser Chong Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Jeez, with three singles and a walk, I think even the Cubs could've scored one run. At least they're getting Pettite in jams early, but if they fail to take advantage before he hits a groove, they'll have no one to blame but themselves. They could've blown this thing open right out the gates, but as it is, we're scoreless.
CanadianChris Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Sweet fancy Moses. SEVEN baserunners in the first two innings, and only ONE run.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 On one hand, it looks like they've got Pettite's number tonight, already getting six hits, but on the other, their execution thus far has been horrible. No way they should have six hits and only one run, especially when half of those hits came in the second inning with no one out.
Guest Choken One Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Damn These Announcers...Damn Them... I'd take Chris Berman over these yokels...
CanadianChris Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Consider the Red Sox officially bitten in the ass. 2-1 Yankees on a Johnson HR.
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Nope, no runs scored (as a result of DJ's error)
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 6-2. And it all serves Derek fucking Lowe perfectly. I know he didn't give up the hit, but he let on the runners. Now how hot is he with his fucking gloating? Eh, BoSox fans? This is going to be beautiful, having the Yanks collectively rip the hearts out of every Red Sox fan. The curse is over? Shit, its just begun.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 If there IS a curse, why would it strike now, and not the World Series?
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Ha, get over it Banky. It's not Lowe's fault that the A's have problems with baseball fundamentals.
tpww7 Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Score: Yankees: 6 Red Sox :2 Hits: Yankees: 8 Red Sox: 9 If only they took advantage of those hits...
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Does it irk anyone else that Fox reds the credits before the game is over?
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 booooooooooring I will ask this, why would you start Damian Jackson over Todd Walker, who's been arguably thier best hitter in the playoffs? Because he can kick the ball on a routine double play?
Bruiser Chong Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Well, technically the game wasn't over, but if you think about it, it was over after the Sox failed to take advantage of the first two innings.

The Sox regularly play Jackson when Lowe pitches, the theory being that with the ground balls that Lowe induces, fielding is more important in those games. Well, technically the game wasn't over, but if you think about it, it was over after the Sox failed to take advantage of the first two innings. It bugs me, because the game isn't over until its over (tm Yogi Berra). Sure, the odds are against it, but you never know.
KingPK Posted October 10, 2003 Author Report Posted October 10, 2003 Well, 1-1 going to Boston. I kind of thought Pettite was going to pitch well, but they had him off his game early but couldn't take advantage, so that's a bit frustrating. Still, the next 3 are in Fenway, and the Sox are undefeated there so far in the postseason, so....we shall see. And is anyone else digging Bret Boone in the booth? The less McCarver gets to talk, the better.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Ha, get over it Banky. It's not Lowe's fault that the A's have problems with baseball fundamentals. But its his problem that he is a jackass and a sore winner. But heck, he won't win a championship before the A's....thats the beauty of it all.
Guest Ghettoman Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 Some of you sound like little kids arguing over who's dad is bigger.... I think game 3 saturday is gonna be the best of the playoffs so far. Pedro hasn't dominated the Yankees and Clemens hasn't dominated the Sox but both are dominating pitchers. Hopefully the irony gods are smiling and we get a close 17-14 game. I like football scores...
Vern Gagne Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 And is anyone else digging Bret Boone in the booth? The less McCarver gets to talk, the better. Both Boone and Leiter are good. Leiter's a little more assertive, but Boone is starting to talk more. Know Fox needs to dump McCarver, and Lyons who doesn't seem to do his homework before the game. I think Mark Grace would make a really good announcer, and so would Paul Molitor if he'd wants the job.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 I'd like to see them hire announcers like Vin Scully or Harry Kalas. True baseball announcers who cover 162 games a year.
treble Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 I can actually watch tonight's game! *is stoked*
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted October 10, 2003 Report Posted October 10, 2003 I know the NL is on tonight, what about the AL?
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Off day today for travel. Series resumes tomorrow at 4pm.
