Fantasy NBA League?

Recommended Posts

Ok. Let's get things out in the open~!

Setting Rosters: Weekly or Daily?

Rosters: Stay or Change? How so?

Draft: Serpentine or Straight Up

Stats: Change or Add or Keep As Is?

16 Team League: Change or Keep?

Respond dammit. Let's get this going.

Setting Rosters: Daily. Just because you can't account every single game.

Rosters: I'd like to add one more position like another Utility, but at the expense of a bench. Means one more person playing. Might also like to add another guard as well (again in exchange for a bench), simply because guards are dimes a dozen.

Draft: Straight up seeing as how we are keeping.

Stats: I'd just add TO and leave as is. The only reason why this season was pretty awful for some teams was because of a very awful draft. Fun, but awful.

16 Team League: Only made this a question for the hell of it. I say keep as is, just because I don't think we could realistically cram more teams into a league.

i'll make it simple, leave everything the way it was this season with exception of changing FT, FG, and 3PT to percentages.

With only one bench, weekly wouldn't be *that* bad, but I'd still rather have daily.

Rosters: Stay or Change? How so?

I like the idea you proposed earlier.

Draft: Serpentine or Straight Up

I don't know what serpentine means, so I'll just say do it the same as last year.

Stats: Change or Add or Keep As Is?

Percentages instead of actual FG/FT, perhaps? Also, maybe both 3P% AND 3PM, since someone like Vlade Divac might shoot a higher percentage than someone like Baron Davis, while only shooting a few threes all season long.

16 Team League: Change or Keep?

Well, if we let more teams in, It wouldn't be fair to them since most of the original teams are keeping all the great players. Which is part of why I still think keepers is a bad idea.

Weekly. Force your owners to make tough roster decisions.

Rosters: Stay or Change? How so?

Keep the same. Don't add more utility slots.

Draft: Serpentine or Straight Up

No opinion.

Stats: Change or Add or Keep As Is?

Change FT to FT%. Do not add turnovers, as they have little bearing on actual performance. If possible, change from a one win per stat format to a one win per match-up format.

16 Team League: Change or Keep?

Keep.

Interesting idea. Having both 3M% and 3PTS.

Would be a better idea than adding TO.

Also, alkeiper, I added the more roster positions in case we do go the route of the weekly system. However, you do bring up a good point about the weekly system in that it is made to make a tough choice for the two teams playing. It would also not allow people to do the constant hire/fire crap we saw this last season. Because if you add a playing, you can't add them to the roster right away.

Don't like this idea, I hate this idea more than Al hates turnovers. I would agree to FG% and FT% but not 3 pointer made percentage.

If you go to weekly line up change then have 10 starters (PG, SG, G, PF, SF, F, C, C, 2 utility)

Doesn't having 10 starters defeat the purpose of weekly changes? With 10 starters you go right back to getting all of your player's games in.

I agree with the idea that 3PT% and 3PTS is bad. I think we should just stick with 3Pts.

Well, as I said about rosters if we went weekly:

2 Guards, 2 Forwards, 1 Centre, 2 Utility, 2 Benches.

Just increase the utility by one or the guards by one. That's about it. However, I might slash IL if we do that. Just because frankly, you only are going to be putting out your best roster every time. :) Hence, having no IL would make you scramble like mad and might have to release a key player that someone else can take up.

Just a thought though.

And for everyone out there, send me a tell via PM about your keepers or if you are not keeping. Because if you don't send me a tell, I'm assuming you aren't keeping.

Weekly lineups also make for me not bothering to even look at my team during the week.

At least the way it is now, I get to play with my roster everyday, thus keeping me more interested in the game. If you want to cut down on the hire/fire things why not just add in a limit on how many moves we can make for the season. Also, lock player moves for the playoffs, so there will be NO add/drop's during the playoff games.

Alright makes sense.

~ Limit player movement, lock players down in playoffs.

~ Serpentine Draft (that was this past draft)

~ Keep Rosters slots same and daily

~ Percentages for FG and FT. Add possibly one other category.

Anything else?

I seriously don't agree with locking down players for the playoffs. I had a couple of injuries on my team right at the time of the playoffs (most notably Baron Davis) and I could have been bounced from the playoffs faster than a bad check had I not been able to pickup Brevin Knight/Lucious Harris in the interim. I wasn't going to drop Baron Davis because he is one of my keepers but he wasn't put on the IL which made it hard on me since I was basically competing with 1 less player.

If we went to weekly lineups, I don't think we need to lock the rosters.

But if we stay with a daily theme, we have to limit it somehow. It was insane the last couple of weeks with all of the pickups just to cram a full lineup in each day. We could limit the roster moves to a move per week to account for injury.

Sounds like an idea, but I'll wait for others opinions on this.

However, pin, sounds pretty good.

In the playoffs, limiting moves wouldn't be so bad.

In the regular season, though, they should be unlimited.

It would have to be the whole season, as it only works that way.

Can only limit moves at the beginning I believe.

We could always police ourselves in regards to the playoff moves. And worst case scenario you take control of someone's roster if they disregard the rule and nullify the move.

I'd have to have everyone agree that I can make those changes though. If you don't say I can, I can't.

Well you could do whatever you want if it was made into a rule for the league. I just like to see the league stay the way it is.

*shrugs* I thought we were doing fine as well, but people want to see some changes, so we make some changes then.
