cawthon777 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 The WWF's first show at the FleetCenter was 10/5/95 but the next show held in Boston - according to my records - wasn't until August 1997. And even then, there were only 2 WWF cards held that year total. I remember there being a WCW Monday Nitro held in June 97 (with the Malenko/Jarrett US title change) but is there any reason for there being no other wrestling cards held in Boston over the course of almost 2 years? ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Wasn't wrestlemania 14 or 15 held there? XV was in Philadelphia. XIV was in Boston, and was one of the most celebrated PPVs of the time with every match being around **1/2-*** and Steve Austin winning the WW(F at the time)E title. ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Referring to Michaels vs Austin? It wasnt that great I didn't say Michaels/Austin was "that great." Every match was at least watchable (which at the time was a miracle) and Austin won the WWF title. Jason

Guest TheBigCalbowski Report post Posted October 5, 2003 From what I heard, the reason they weren't at the FleetCenter for such a long period of time was cause it was too expensive to hold an event there. But then again, that's just what someone told me.

ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Note to self: Turn to other message boards for help on this. Continue your topic-dissolving now It seems as if everyone on here tried their best (i.e. I listed WM XIV after both XIV and XV were mentioned as possibles, BigCalbowski gave a possible explanation, etc.), then we had no more information and got bored with it. Call it a product of crash-TV, we have short attention spans. Jason

I remember that some areas used to have that, so WWF/E didn't go there so often. Not in Mass. During the same time, the WWF was doing regular stops to Worcester and the other wrestling towns in the ME/MA area. The only area I could think of along those likes in the US would be Oregon. Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 -the death of the Australian funeral industry (*wonders if anyone will get that one*) Simpsons? And as for why WWE doesn't hold many shows in Boston, maybe it because Mass sucks. they seem to have different rules and regulations for EVERYTHING and they refuse to conform with the rest of the US. Believe me, I know.

I remember that some areas used to have that, so WWF/E didn't go there so often. I think you're thinking of Baltimore, where back in the days of NWA shows at the Baltimore Arena, the Maryland Athletic Commission would stop matches or shows for excessive blood loss. Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Yep. That was used as an angle to Dusty Finish a Flair/Luger match. Flair bladed and the announcer said that the Athletic Comission had stopped the match for blood loss, although it was a work.
