Ace309 Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 A bunch of us here are planning on participating in national Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo. Since the SWF is a place where aspiring writers come to pat each other on the back, what better place to look for people to participate in a pointless exercise of writing misery? So go, sign up there, and post here! If you've got a plot picked out, feel free to share.
The Amazing Rando Posted October 5, 2003 Report Posted October 5, 2003 i have nothing to add to this thread +1
Ace309 Posted October 5, 2003 Author Report Posted October 5, 2003 Of course, we're all up on Rando's escapades.
Chuck Woolery Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 And here I am, not feeling alone anymore. I will win this year, and I will set a new record in doing so. I'm aiming for four days. - Mikey Dub
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 I'd do it if I had any time for it... So, I dunno, maybe.
The Amazing Rando Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 ...there is no WAY i could do all of this in a month...I am aiming for March to have the scenes done...then getting to work on the matches....
the.weej Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 I signed up for this a few days ago, since I have to be insane. Fuck you for influencing me, Van Siclen. I'll see you in hell! -Z
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 *cough* Upon further review, I've ALREADY written that much for my current project, so... Uh...
Guest vitriol Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 I'm going to do it. And then I'm going to share my frighteningly bizarre novel with you fucks.
Guest Insanityman Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 I might... I doubt I'd be able to churn around 50k of coherent writings though.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 Coherence is overrated. When I went for this last year and failed miserably, what I was writing was mostly random-ass drivel with the slightest of narrative threads. When you're pumping out over 1500 words a day you can't really be too concerned with quality. It's all about quantity and somehow not getting carpal tunnel. Speaking of which, next story due Thursday...dammit.
Hank Kingsley Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 Oh, I'd love to, but I *really* don't think I'll have time. ...I'll get back to you.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 I'll easily get 50k words, but Jesus, I don't know if that's enough to finish my story.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 Well, considering you write 20,000 word roleplays and never get anywhere with those, I'm not surprised. OH SNAP EAT A BAG OF DIIIIICKS~!
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 Who says "snap"? Speaking of snap, how's Edwin doing?
Hank Kingsley Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 Oooh, inspiration! My 50k essay, in novel form: Lo-Fidelity All-Stars' "Battleflag" - The Greatest Song Ever? (answer: yes)
Edwin MacPhisto Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 Who says "snap"? Speaking of snap, how's Edwin doing? He's cracklin' and poppin' in yo girlfriend's bed! PUH-VOOMP!
Angel_Grace_Blue Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Ker-bump! Just wanted to find out who actually finished, or who got the farthest. I hope that at least a few people were only a few hundred words away...from the thousand word mark. Yeah... Seeing as how I did not sign up, I am very pleased with my results. I'll now repost my novel right here:
HVilleThugg Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Hey now...this place ain't only for aspiring writers dammit! I have never, nor will I ever, aspire to be a writer... Da "don't make that mistake again" H
Ace309 Posted December 2, 2003 Author Report Posted December 2, 2003 Yeah, but there's no NaBraWriMo* program, Thugg. I got a couple hundred and quit to write things that are, y'know, graded. *National Brawl Writing Month
HVilleThugg Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 Well, there should be!!! Da "feels slighted in some way" H
