Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 With a win over Kane? No. Kane has ALWAYS been Taker's whipping boy, and if Taker goes, Kane is the big gothic like guy in the fed. He goes over, period.
Vyce 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 Only way I can really get psyched for yet another Undertaker / Kane match is if Taker actually LOSES this time around.
Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2003 Well hopefully you wouldn't already know because if Kane were to win, your anticipation during the whole match along with the near falls would make for entertainment.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2003 I wouldn't be shocked at all to see Kane defeat Taker one day, and one day pretty soon... ...it's just, there is no way in hell that it would happen at WrestleMania. I don't even think it should happen, I actually want Taker to go out with that record.
Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2003 Someone of Taker's calibre should have thier final match as a selling point for a Wrestlemania, and I am a firm believer in going out laying on your back. I do agree, though, if Taker loses at this Mania and there are no plans for him to get a title shortly thereafter, his career is dead, and he'd be wasting time continuing on. I don't think this is the time for him to go down at a Wrestlemania, but if he and Kane face off, he can't win. It would kill Kane deader than he is already thanks to Shane or whatever else they do to bury him soon.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2003 Someone of Taker's calibre should have thier final match as a selling point for a Wrestlemania, and I am a firm believer in going out laying on your back. I agree, almost everyone should go out putting someone else over. Still, it doesn't have to be at WM. Taker has went so many years with that record, and I feel that he should keep it. Few things in Pro. Wrestling mean anything, few "records" are worth anything at all. That WrestleMania record though, to me (and I'm sure to a few fans out there) really means something. It'd be a fitting footnote to Taker's career, and it would be a hell of a thing for WWE to allow Taker to keep, for all of the years he has stood by the company. With that said, obviously he should put someone over and should job before he leaves, just not at WrestleMania.
Guest Suicide King Report post Posted October 8, 2003 I agree. The only way to go out is on your back, if you love the business. However in retrospect I agree that Taker shouldn't be retired at a Wrestlemania... WM will get the buyrates popping no matter what. Maybe start it all at WM and perhaps do it at one of the other PPVs. I still maintain if there is any justice Taker has to be retired by Kane... normally I would support putting over new talent, but with their history and storyline it would make no sense for anyone else to do it. Then again, what do I know? My dreams of Lesnar's first submission loss being to the Crippler Crossface were dashed.
Just call me Dan 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2003 I think I see selling points needing to be manifested and big drawing angles/matches needing to be hammered upon because of the lackluster buyrate that WMXIX was involved with. I think Brok/Angle and Vince/Hogan were built up so hard, but they weren't the matches people wanted to REALLY see at Wrestlemania (not meaning a lot of us, because *I* for sure wanted to see Brock/Angle), but let's face it when you incorporate the vast audience of marks and casual fans, those matches were perhaps not the spectacle they saw something in buying. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2003 It'd be a fitting footnote to Taker's career, and it would be a hell of a thing for WWE to allow Taker to keep, for all of the years he has stood by the company. Getting to go over pretty much anyone he wants, as well as having a lot of pull w/ Vince isn't enough? And the loyalty thing makes me laugh. WCW didn't want him if he couldn't bring the Undertaker gimmick with him, so it's not like he had to keep turning down offers.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2003 The WM Streak is legendary. It shouldn't end. If he does intend to retire, have Undertaker go out at 12-0. That's quite an accomplishment, the closest anyone ever got was Hogan and he lost 2 times. My dreams of Lesnar's first submission loss being to the Crippler Crossface were dashed. That makes two of us.
Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted October 8, 2003 .....and there are people who spent $750 on tickets? WOW, I feel bad.
Dandy 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2003 I think Taker should retire at a Survivor Series. Not this year's SS, but a Survivor Series, so it could end where it started. It would be nice to see him go back to being the deadman one last time, too, orginal music and all.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2003 Let me see Kane beats Taker at Wrestlemania XX, giving Kane a huge push Kane becomes the #1 contender for the title Triple H vs Kane at Raw PPV Triple H pedigree's Kane for an easy three Yeah, it does seem to look like WWE booking. You gotta love the WWE for the fact they are so predictable. Now, I don't have to bother watching Wrestlemania 20 OR the Raw PPV after that. Maybe the Hitman can return and Triple H can hit him with a sledgehammer, you know so Triple H can get some much needed heat! Personally, I'm holding out for that Repo Man vs Triple H feud. Guest Goodear Report post Posted October 8, 2003 SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP! If I see one more thread about a show that is more than 6 months away I am going to explode. Any 'fantasy card' is a bunch of shit considering all the mitigating factors that might hit between now and then. ESPECIALLY considering the health of the men involved in these two rumors (other than Kane), its way too early to make up anymore of these dream cards. PS: If Austin is involed in the show, its a waste of everyone's time.
Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2003 At the end of the day, everyone will complain about the card anyways so we might as well start now eh ? Two rumoured matches that look like shit ? Oh well. R umoured matches for WM XIX might have been UT v Big Show and Hogan v Vince and everyone might have written it off. Don't judge a show by two ( and especially RUMOURED ) matches.
