There were 1.2 million signatures when the recall was certified. There were still more being counted at that time. The final number is/was over 2 million.

Ok, I am not saying you are wrong about that, but where did you get that figure from?

I can provide no specific source. It is a difficult number to find since few people care after the petition got certified, but every number I have heard referenced since they finished counting has been in the 2 mil+ range. I believe Arnold used the figure on at least one occasion as well.
