NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 It's called "Ventura's America" It was pretty nice and refreshing to see someone who dislikes both the republican & democratic parties speak his mind and actually get a spot on tv to do so. He stuck to the issues pretty good. His studio audience was tiny, however that is usually the way it goes when the show is starting out. Anyone else see it? Saturdays at 4pm pacific time. Guest JMA Report post Posted October 7, 2003 I didn't see it (I didn't even know it was out yet). But I'll try to catch it next time.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 MSNBC really ran out of confidence in the guy which is why there was practically no fanfare. That and the Donahue thing bit them in the ass. I didn't see it, I'll try to some other time.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 Donahue still makes me laugh.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 Donahue is great for his ability to overdramatic: "Mr. (name), our country is in such turmoil today, the baby is cold and there's no blanket and Mom Is On The Phone And NOBODY IS PAYING ATTENTION AND THE TV IS BROKEN AND THE MILK IS SOUR AND DADDY HAS BEEN DRINKING AND I ASK YOU, MR. (NAME), HOW DO WE FIX THIS?!?!"
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 7, 2003 Shame...Ventura shouldn't get such a weak promotion... Thought they were putting him against Fox's Big Gun
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 His show is finally on the air? Does it take place at the Mall of America? If it's on 4 p.m. PT, I'm assuming it will be on 7 p.m. ET...
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 I heard the show was having trouble getting off the ground because Ventura was bad at reading cue cards and doing the more scripted part of the shows. He must have been practicing, cause he did fine to me.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 A pro wrestler having trouble with pre-determined broadcast actions? Odd...
Guest deadbeater Report post Posted October 8, 2003 It used to be wrestlers didn't have cue cards or interview scripts when doing inerviews. They were just given talking points and they took it from there.
