What happened to all the peeps

Recommended Posts

Guest JacK

I know Shamrock went off to UFC, but I don't know why; and I also don't know what happened to Malice, Apollo, Monty Brown; and all those other guys that were around then but aren't know. With most of them, that's not a bad thing, it's a good thing; but Apollo seemed decent enough from what I saw.

Apollo is the IWA-PR heavyweight champ. I wouldn't be suprised to see him in TNA if Dutch Mantel is booking for both. Talent swaps could be good if the introduce talent wisely. I think Jeff Jarrett even wrestled Apollo on the IWA tv show a few weeks back.

I saw Monty Brown's name in some Michigan (I think) indie results in one of the Observer updates.  Malice had been touring in All Japan.

Monty Brown worked a tag match not too long ago that featured Gangrel, Sabu, and another guy who I forget the name of.

Malice also worked in XPW.

After the talk of Malice getting a WWE developmental contract died down, there hasn't really been anything from him lately.

What about the Johnsons? Dupps? Midgets? Steamboat? Brad Armstrong and his dad? JJ Dillion? Percy Pringle? Sabu? Harris Brothers?

Malice was Snuff, right? But wasn't that in the early stages of TNA, when he was around pretty much every week?

Sabu managed to make an ass out of himself on the few appearances he's made so he hasn't been asked back.

I was not an Apollo fan, anyone remeber when he blew the super kick during the Truth vs jeff title match, Monty Brown seemed ok and his press slam into a fallwayslam was pretty cool, his fued with elix sucked though

I mark for Cheex! Bring him back!

As for most of the other names mentioned, I didn't think much of them anyway. Malice had improved from his "wall" character but was my no means worthy of a regular spot. I always thought Monty was overrated, Sabu is good but past his prime and unreliable. Harris brothers - Meh!, Pringle is too old for active TV.

I marked heavy for Malice and Monty Brown. Brown, for somebody as green as he is, was actually very good. Solid look, solid in the ring, solid mic work, and a good amount of charisma. Everything about Brown, to me anyways, screamed "possible superstar." Why WAS he let go, anyways?

Bo Dupp=Trevor Rhodes in IWA: Mid South

Stan Dupp=Otto Schwantz in Carolina Indies

You got those mixed up dude. Stan is Trevor Rhodes (related to Dusty and Dustin.) Bo is Otto Schwantz

Yeah, I miss the Alpha Male, he always entertained me, he had charisma and a cool moveset, and could have been a solid upper-midcard player.

Um, are we all forgetting that Monty knocked out The Truth with a botched powerbomb (this was when they were building Killings for the NWA title) and he was never seen again. I don't think it was a coincidence...

Oh, ok, thanks for all that. It was weird, though, watching these older shows and wondering who the hell everyone on it was.

Though it was cool seeing Truth become, well Truth.

I've got a question, though he wasn't around at the beginning, but what happened to Mike Sanders? He just up and disappeared all of a sudden...I miss him...

YES!!!!! FINALLY! Someone else who misses Sanders!!!! I never thought I'd see the day . . . wow, cool. All this time I've been bringing him up everywhere I can, and even buggin Tenay and stuff about it.

I think they got rid of Sanders because of his backstage attitude or something, or some such thing like that. One of those torch/observer dealy things said something about it a while ago . . . but then, the same one said David Young was gone, but he's BACK, so maybe Sanders will be too . . . one can only but hope.

Also, what happened to Divine Storm and The Hotshots, where either of them any good, and how long where they around for?

David Young was let go because they didn't have anything for him. He only came back because Johnny Swinger had to have surgery and Young was backstage, so he took his spot.

Oh, ok then. But still, Sanders needs to come back, even if he just stands there, does interviews with Goldy, and Says 'Hey!' a lot. That was Gold damnit!

Yup, Monty is working in the AWWL here in Lansing, MI (my hometown). Sabu shows up pretty often, and Kevin Sullivan is fairly prominent as well.

AWWL is owned by the Iron Sheik's sons btw...
