I know everybody likes the first two for obvious reasons, but I was wondering about the others since many claimed that Undertaker / Mankind was the last good HIAC, Thoughts?

Mankind/Taker is not the best HIAC by a long shot. If you watch it now, the shock value is gone and you're left with 10 minutes of crappy wrestling.

In fact, Foley/HHH is probably the best of them all.

Taker vs Foley was better than Michaels vs Taker. The Undertapper not selling Shawn's superkick even for 1 second alone makes this match worse. Sorry, but I just had to get that out of my system.

Lesnar vs Taker or HHH vs Foley is my pick for best cell match.

Best is HBK-Taker, but besides that...

I voted HHH-Cactus. I just watched that last week and it's definitely second best HIAC. I remember having no clue who was going win. If I had to pick, I would've gone with Cactus.

Undertaker-Brock is right after. Alot of people shit on that match (not the people in this thread, yet), but it was one hell of a brawl. And as said already, it didn't need any big bump. I love the finish of Brock reversing the Tombstone into the F-5.

The only flaw (a big one) on Taker- Lesnar is the whole I'm so Injured but I'll still use my hand to beat you.

I could forgive that if Taker restrain (sp?) himself for some time and then change for a "Forget about pain, I nedd to win" attitude.

But still.... Lesnar bleed, Paul bleed.. and OMG... Taker set a new standard on bleeding.

Now 'bout Taker-Foley.... that is something I dont understand.

It was AWFUL.

I think so many SM gave them ***** only for the bumps. Yeah, they were HUGE BUMPS, but that CANT turn a match into a ***** just for the bumps. There was a huge time out, almost none wrestling moves, Funk's interference was pointless.

To be fair, Funk didn't exactly interfere... He was there to check on Foley to add drama to the two big bumps. He only got chokeslammed because he tried to reason with Taker, you could say.

Sounds a bit like revisionist thinking here.

Taker/Mankind was special because the likes of the BUMP hadn't been seen before in the Big Two.

The HIAC that have followed since may have better quality in the work, etc. but the second HIAC just sort of snuck up on us and made us pay attention ("us" meaning "me").

And why wasn't the Snow/Bossman MOTCentury included in this poll?

Not revisionist thinking at all. It's been generally accepted that UT/Mankind was a special event, but was a pretty bad match. Heck, it was barely a match at all. Five minutes of action and fifteen minutes of stalling doesn't make for a good match no matter what they do in those five minutes.

I voted for HHH/Cactus...easily the best on the list, and my favourite ever (with UT/Shawn close behind).

Takayama vs. Chono for the IWGP Title.

.....

Oh, I guess, HHH/Foley.

I voted for Foley/HHH, because I loved the match. Brock/Taker would be my second choice, but I think Foley/HHH dispays HHH in his prime and just a whole lot of emotion.

Bossman/Taker for "mark" reasons. The only reason why I mared out for the Ministry, is because they reminded me of the Dungeon.

I say Lesnar/Taker- not only was it a great brawl but it also represented HIAC in it's 'pure' form- I mean it was originally designed as a cage match that you can't get out from and that people running interference can't get into. The fact that the match wasn't based around one big spot made it more enjoyable imo. When a hiac is presented as a bloody and stiff brawl as this one was- it places it much closer in style to the wcw wargames matches which I really enjoyed...

i looked back at foley/UT the other day for nostalgic reasons... the mark in me still marked for the spots.. but it really isnt that special anymore... after you have seen it a hundred times it gets old. Anyway I voted HHH/Foley over Brock/Taker. I really loved both matches (still suprised by Taker/Brock but thats a different story) but I feel HHH/Foley had a lot more emotion in it and told a much better story.
