The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2003 I'll do a quick seperation of the good bad and ugly: Ugly: Vince Russo, Jamal and Siaki vs. AMW and Dusty Rhodes. It's ugly because of Russo and Rhodes...the match itself...well...I watched AMW vs. Siaki and David Young turn into a pleasent little match some time ago. Jamal's power offense used sparingly probably works here. Match holds no interest for anyone though. Bad: Erik Watts vs. Kevin Northcutt. Ugh. They actually found two hosses...and here they are. Kept short...Watts probably dropped on head. Will TNA officials let Roddy Piper SPEAK??? This is bad because I (A: Don't like Piper) and (B: Don't care) Bad: Diamond and Swinger defend against ??? Why do ??? and his partner ??? gte the title shot? They don't have any tag teams...so it'll either be 3LK again or something equally boring. Good: Kid Kash vs. Abyss. Mainly because Abyss rocks our world...even if only a select few will admit it. It will probably become bad however when the angle overtakes the match and either (A: Terry Taylor runs in so a MONSTER can beat KID KASH??? Backwards much????) OR (B: Kash controls Abyss and he takes out Taylor). EVENTUALLY the Kash/Abyss stuff will be good though. Michael Shane vs. Christopher Daniels. 1. Daniels is back in the X division which is both good and bad. 2. Everyone in the X division is a heel. Either way...Daniels vs. people his size has worked out well in the past. Raven vs. someone from the New Church...probably Slash...which SOUNDS good in theory. And finally: X Division Tag Team Match Along with the X Championship Match, four X competitors will be in action this Wednesday night in an attempt to set the high-flying, death-defying bar even higher in TNA. One of the four superstars set to compete is Sonjay Dutt, who recently created a buzz on the internet based on his X style in other promotions. This Wednesday, we'll see is Sonjay Dutt can live up to his fanfare! Ahh yes, Sonjay Dutt. Another in a long line (well...Teddy Hart and Juvi and Super Crazy) of guys that will be brought in...rock the house...and disapear.
Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2003 Chris Daniels v Micheal Shane is actually a match I've wanted to see but it will probably be too short to be REALLY good.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2003 Anothere thing will prevent Daniels/Shane from being good... The fact that Shane sucks.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2003 I don't think Sonjay will disappear, though maybe that's just hope more than logic. However, the problems with Juvi and Teddy had much to do with international circumstances (transportation, working papers), while Sonjay I'm guessing resides somewhere on the East Coast. I have a feeling he could be the next breakout X Division star, and if they get Juvi back within a few weeks, that's one match I'd love to see.
BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2003 Match length shouldn't be a problem when Dutch Mantel has been booking every match go to like 7 minutes or more. Of course, hopefully he won't make the main event 15 minutes again. They've made every match longer instead of just the good ones, which is a problem. I bet Watts vs Northcutt gets like 7 or 8 minutes.
Sandman9000 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2003 Sonjay's got charisma out the ying-yang, to add to the fact he can work like a mofo. All hail the sprinkler-elbow. He should be able to stick around. I'd like to see Ruckus get a shot as well. He's not as good as Sonjay and needs to be carried in something other then a spotfest, but he could get over in one match just using a handful of his spots. A fat black guy doing a Space Flying Tiger Drop isn't something you see every day.
Guest Jay Z. Hollywood Report post Posted October 11, 2003 (edited) Sonjay= greatness. And he's from Virginia, so he should definitely be able to be a regular if he gets over (and he WILL, no doubt about it.) He's got an incredible amount of charisma, as SM said, can play any role (his heel work in IWA:MS is awesome, and the dancing in CZW made him a hugely over face). He can wrestle with the best of them, and some of his spots are mindblowing (the Hindu Press and the Reverse 450 come to mind) Sonjay will be a huge star in the X Division, guaranteed. PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2003 Sonjay = Money, Really cool to see a wrestler I followed in CZW breaking out throughout all the major Indies (ROH, MLW and TNA) lately.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2003 It's true that with Dutch matches get more time on average... but they need to accomodate that by booking less segments so instead of 7 minute X matches we can get at least one 15 minute on a week. that = buyrate
Guest dvkorn Report post Posted October 12, 2003 I'd like to see Ruckus get a shot as well. Oh, please god no....

Guest Markingout Report post Posted October 12, 2003 Yay! I met Sonjay at MLW very nice guy. His work is amazing. I am glad he is finally getting his due after busting his ass whereever he goes.
Guest Sturgis Report post Posted October 12, 2003 I'd like to see Ruckus get a shot as well. Oh, please god no.... Just because Ruckus is a spot monkey doesn't mean you have to be all negative and shit. He's good for popping the crowd in an opening match, and I'm sure the Nashville fans will love him and Sonjay. I also think TNA should invest in Josh Prohibition for the X Division he fits perfectly.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted October 13, 2003 So is this going to be the first Mantel booked show?
Guest JacK Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Ahhh, hate to look like a no-nothing; but who are all these people? Who's Sonjay, Whose Ruckus, and who's Josh Prohibition. (It's not my fault, I live in Australia, all we get is WWE; and TNA once a month. Don't blame me!)
Guest Sturgis Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Well Sonjay Dutt is your basic lightweight who can work like a motherfucker. Ruckus is a big fat black guy who acts like a lightweight, a very impressive sight. Josh Prohibtion and his buddy M-Dogg 20 are famous for their matches in The Best of Backyard Wrestling Volumes 1 & 2 and have become actual wrestlers. Josh is good, and M-Dogg is a spot monkey. Both are characters in the BYW Video Game out now. Hope that helps

RedJed 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 The show has a LOT of hit or miss stuff, from the sounds of it. They need a more solid main event on top if you ask me. That six man is just horrid. The X match 4 way should be good just because I've never seen this new guy, yet heard alot about him. On the subject of Ruckus, I say why the hell not. I agree about Michael Shane being the shits as well......I've never been high at all on Kazarian either. I'm baffled why TNA signed these two to major contracts.....I think there are more guys out there who can do more and are more known in the division. Sabin is just fine, but these two are worthless, IMO. Juvi and Hart should be scooped up to contracts once their visas get all squared away. Wonder what Daniels is talking about with bringing in friends? Lo-Ki and Elix? Piper on the mic live is always fun just because you dont know what he is going to say and if it will be coherant. I dont see this as a bad thing, makes for some laughs if you have a few brews while watching the show. I would bet Piper will play into the upcoming Hogan-Russo-Jarrett stuff. Northcutt v. Watts is going to be dumb for sure. Would like to see a follow-up with Lynn.......I could see him join up with Callis in attacking D-Lo or something. Tag title match........only thing that would make this ok is if its a new team or something with credibility. I hope its not David Young and ????, although I imagine that may be the case. Kash v. Abyss, why do this so soon? I'd play that Kash plays a chickenshit and it takes some major force to get him in the ring with Abyss instead. I could see this show swinging either way depending on how Mantell works with this lineup.

LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Yay! I met Sonjay at MLW very nice guy. His work is amazing. I am glad he is finally getting his due after busting his ass whereever he goes. I corresponded w/ him for awhile several months ago for an article I was writing and he was not only really nice, but HILARIOUS.
Guest JacK Report post Posted October 14, 2003 Yo, thanks Sturgis, that helps a lot. Sounds like these guys are pretty good, should be something good to see . . . now if only I could see it. They gotta start putting the good stuff on the weeks we get it, then I'll be set.
