BifEverchad 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Dude, just copy & paste next time, its a real bitch to go to 1popup.. For all the other pop-up haters like me, here it is: The NWA TNA website has just posted a story reporting that Jeff Jarrett attacked Hulk Hogan and bloodied him up today in Japan. It happened during the Hulkster's post match press conference, after he got a win over Masa Chono at New Japan's Tokyo Dome show. Hogan was talking about never having won the NWA title when Jarrett came into the room and laid him out, leaving him bloody. To read the entire TNA story, click here. As we reported last week, Hogan has come to terms (though we still don't know for sure if the actual contracts have been signed yet) to work for TNA. His entrance into the company has led to them scheduling their first ever three hour PPV on Sunday November 30. The show is set to be headlined by a Hogan vs. Jarrett match. Styles 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 I just recieved this email from the TNA mailing list: BREAKING NEWS courtesy of www.nwatna.com 10.13.03 | Breaking News: Jarrett Attacks Hogan In Japan! A post match press conference in Japan by Hulk Hogan turned chaotic last night when TNA's Jeff Jarrett showed up to confront Hogan. Hogan was meeting with members of the Japanese press following his victory over Masa Chono at the big New Japan event in the Tokyo Dome when Jarrett burst on to the scene and attacked Hogan. Hogan was addressing the Japanese media about his future, and had just said "I have unfinished business here in Japan. I want to win the IWGP title again. I also have unfinished business in the United States. The only title I've never won is the NWA World Heavyweight Title." Jeff Jarrett burst on the scene in a rage and attacked Hogan and left him a bloody mess. Jarrett taunted Hogan by saying, "I heard the rumors that you wanted to come to TNA.....well TNA just came to you." TNA has been in contact with members of the Japanese media and will air footage of the incident on this week's episode of NWA-TNA: Total Nonstop Action. More details will be reported on www.nwatna.com as they become available, as well as the complete story this Wednesday at 8pm ET/5pm PT on Pay-Per-View. AWESOME. Look - Copying something word for word and then saying, "credit - 1wrestling.com" is still illegal. It's the same thing with people who type word for word from the Torch and the Observer on here. That's just wrong. Now is 1wrestling.com going to come on here and sue anyone? Probably not, but I never thought a tape trader/dealer would ever be arrested and charged by the FBI, and that just happened. Also, Dave Sherer just recently said on his radio show that they will probably in the future be taking legal action against sites that do exactly what you just said (typing their stuff word for word and then saying "credit 1wrestling.com.") 411 comes to mind as the place that does the most blatant offense of this. So, to make a long story short "dude," just keep playing with fire and see what happens.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 He's right. Every time we put a word for word cut and paste of an article up we are doing something wrong. The accepted way of doing things is to put in the first few lines of the text and then put the link to read more. I woulnd't worry about it ever leading to anything...but technically it IS wrong. RedJed 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 BTW Jarrett's a face in TNA yet, right? If they show this it might ruin the heel turn "surprise". Jarrett has already started his subtle heel turn by disrespecting Rhodes and beginning to go back to dissing on the whole tradition side of things. Even mentioned Hogans name last week on the show in regards to a handful of guys in the business who are "just in it for themselves." Sounds like a cool way to start this whole thing, although it kind of is weird considering Jarrett isnt even the champ yet.

Is everyone on here 15 years old or something? I swear to God, I was just trying to post a little breaking news that I thought everyone would be interested in, and all at least 2 people care about is how I chose to present the news in my post. Grow up. I didn't post TNA's website because I never go there - I read it on 1wrestling so I gave them the credit. Is it that difficult to click off a couple of pop ups? RedJed 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Here's an idea......fat chance of it happening, but still..... You have Styles-Jarrett coming up and in that match, you have the expected turn of Jarrett and Russo joining forces to get the title, form against Hogan, etc. Russo does the turn somewhere in the match and its obvious him and Jarrett are now a team. But Russo's turn doesnt cause the finish. Styles is still alive. Cue Hogan who makes the run-in and he costs Jarrett the match. Styles then could defend the title as a babyface against whoever, while having Russo/Jarrett v. Hogan as the focus without the title, but still have both of them trying to get a title shot down the road while feuding. This would still underutilize the title and Styles at the same time just because you know they have to go with Jarrett/Russo-Hogan as the main feud of the company, and rightfully so, but at least you could have a seperate feud then with Styles still as world champ. Have Hogan get the title shot sooner or later (or i.e. let Hogan EARN a title shot, much less a title run.....see how he acts in TNA), and by that time have a suitable heel champ on top against him, who would have taken the belt from Styles........maybe have Raven defeat Styles down the road later, and then turn him back heel soon after the title chase for Raven is met. Then have Raven v. Hogan? Would be a weird match, but might just work. If the Hogan experiment fails sooner or later and he doesnt make it to the title shot match, have Jarrett go over Hogan and then challenge Raven for the world title, in the re-match that would see Raven retain over him....then you wouldnt have to worry about a Raven heel turn after all. Bottom line is that I just think its not worth putting the title on Jarrett for this feud since there is well enough buildup behind it without the belt. Plus I worry about Styles post-October 22 if he loses the title. Would rather he keep it for awhile longer as a face, then jobbing it to Raven in a big match as a buildup for their next major Sunday ppv after November (assumign they have a second one). If they do a second major ppv, why not have Russo/Jarrett v. Piper/Hogan? Sounds horrible on paper, but still......the story is there.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted October 13, 2003 But that would involve Raven, and not have spotlight on Jarret/Hogan, thus your plan is sh*t. =) I'd be so much more feeling this if it wasn't Jarret - Jarett is like my least favorite wrestler of all time, even less than Hogan. niko
eirejmcmahon 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Obviously he is signed if they are doing angles with him. One would hope so, yes.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Maybe it's just my low opinion of Hogan... but even if he isn't signed (which is a possability) the fact that Jarrett just totally stomped him makes me think that Hogan wouldn't let the whole thing die with him looking like a tool. Hell, I still think he's just doing this to put himself over Russo.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted October 13, 2003 I've been down on wrestling lately, but that angle seems pretty cool right now. Its freshens things up...it shows the lengths a company would go to set up an angle. Jarrett travelled all the way to Japan simply to attack Hogan. Thats amazing story-telling, and it builds up the angle to be greater than anything they've done before.

Funny, I had exactly the same thought but I hope the NWATNA office weren't stupid enough to think that this one act is as good as a signed contract. I want the company to succeed but they need to play this very carefully, Hogan is a selfish fucker of the highest order.
