I mean seriously what kind of message does it send to all the other players on the team? That you can do things like this and not get into any major trouble? While it may be a stupid tradition, it is commonplace for fans to charge the field if their team scores a major upset at home. SO if you are on the road and are the ones being upset, you should expect people to be on the field. The kid wasn't running towards him, he was running past him, and the NU guy just sucker punched him. I also think Solich made himself out to be a complete ass during his press conference. Solich: "Well, after reviewing the tape (insert player's name) didn't go searching out anyone." Good rationalization, assfuck. Yeah, he didn't search the field for someone. There are plenty of pileups during a game to get in extra shots. Don't wait until it is just you on top of him, with no shielding, to pull something like that. So you ACCIDENTALLY punched a guy who was coming towards you? He can't even claim the Kermit Washington-Rudy T "He came up behind me" defense. If you look at Nebraska's history, the light suspension shouldn't surprise anyone. Christian Peter was basically running wild on the Lincoln campus, getting drunk and assaulting women and nothing really happened to him. Then there was Lawrence Phillips. FUCK that bullshit. If I was running OSU and Reynolds had done that, he'd be kicked off the team THAT SUNDAY. All this "in the heat of the moment" shit goes out the fucking door when you do some foul shit like that. I have no love whatsoever for Nebraska, but fuck this "one or two games suspension" shit.
