Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted October 16, 2003 Not saying their real or fake, just looking for opinions... http://9news.com/newsroom/13294.html Then there's the face in the smoke. Some have claimed the profile of a face can be made out in dark smoke along one side of the trade center in an Associated Press photograph taken last week. This has been called "the face of Satan" on some Internet postings. Skeptics say the face is no different from someone seeing images in clouds -- they are seeing patterns where there is randomness. Vin Alabiso, an AP vice president and the news cooperative's executive photo editor, has said that the photo was untouched and that the AP has a strict policy that prohibits the alteration of the content of a photo in any way. Nevertheless, the photo has made a terrible week even more surreal for Mark D. Phillips, the sometime photojournalist who climbed to his Brooklyn roof on the morning of the attacks to take pictures of a burning World Trade Center, and sold them to the Associated Press. He barely looked at one photograph -- filled with a dark cloud of billowing smoke -- before he sent it from his laptop. On the night of the attacks, Phillips said, his agent called to ask, "Do you know that the face of the devil is in your photograph?" Phillips says he started to shake when he looked at the picture again. Now, he says, he isn't sure what to believe. ---
A Happy Medium 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2003 I'm willing to bet the UFO is a fighter jet. When it comes to the devil faces in the smoke. It can be looked at as the same as the faces in clouds, or it could be looked as the evilness and bad karma of the attacks is signaled by the face of a devil. I dunno...but it's all been said. Jingus 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2003 Two big, big problems with the whole "face of Satan" theory: 1. Those particular smoke formations did indeed look like some sort of demonic face... from the angle of the photographs. From any other angle, they wouldn't have looked like a face at all, since the smoke pictures are essentially two-dimensional illusions. 2. If there is a real Satan, he doesn't look like that. The devil's looks are never once described in the Bible. The horned-and-hooved image came from early marketing campaign by a young Catholic Church, which claimed that the popular Horned God worshipped by many Germanic pagan tribes was actually the Beast and the enemy of mankind. As for the UFO thing, where did those pictures come from?
justsoyouknow 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2003 And, if anything, wouldn't "the devil" be SMILING at his destruction? I mean, if I were to succeed in bringing ruin upon civilization, Lord knows I'd be smiling. Especially if I was the devil.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted October 16, 2003 Jingy is correct, for the most part. Lucifer is described in his angelic state and can apparently replicate that to some degree to engage in his trickery, but his demonic state (if in fact very different at all) isn't described biblically to my knowledge. I generally laugh at things like this. I generally try not to say that there's something the Devil won't try, but stunts such as that would serve to harm what he biblically sets out to do (which is dive people away from God, make them believe He doesn't exist, or if he can't do that, warp His character to them in some fashion/tempt them to engage in sin). Blatantly showing up for a chuckle in the middle of a terrible disaster would confirm his existence, which, for most, would technically confirm the existence of His creator and enemy, being God. Not very tactical.

Guest cobainwasmurdered Report post Posted October 16, 2003 Going by Milton's "Paridise Lost" Lucifer was the most perfect and blessed of all God's angels. Satan had everything he could want but he wanted to BE the ruler of heaven, thus he and his rebel angels were cast out. Then Satan and his LT. Belezubulb decided that to mess with good they would do only evil and ruin all that was good. To make a "Heaven out of hell and a Hell out of Heaven"
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 The UFO picture is fake. Obviously No mention of the fake Nostrademus quadrant that circulated after 9-11?
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 I think the UFO pics aren't fake, actually. I'd bet that the one where it shows something flying out of the Towers (the final pic) was just debris from inside that office (desks, cubicle walls, etc.). The far away "UFO," the white one, was probably another plane taking off from a nearby airport, or perhaps a blimp. And the one that flies by and is diagrammed in the first "UFO" picture? Probably a fighter jet taking surveilance photographs of the Towers.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 the first two are a fake, but the third one...I remember seeing it a day after 9/11 on the cover of a bunch of Toronto Newspapers, its probably fake, but just change it a bit and it'll sell more copies

And the third picture was taken right off of CNN, and wasn't altered either. Snopes.com: Faces in the Cloud That second one, I've never seen before. It also takes a little time to grasp what you are actually looking at, unless the outline is shown to you before. So, while the second one is pretty damn strange once you see the pattern, you do have to search for it a little.
