Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 Why would they book a main event that's almost guaranteeing a bloodbath in a state that you can't deliver said bloodbath in? A chain match without blood is like a Ric Flair match without chops. It just doesn't happen.

haVoc 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 Is it that you can't have blood or just a heavy fine if you do? I mean, if Taker blades is he going to jail or will Vince just have to pay $1000 fine?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 17, 2003 How much is the blood fine really? If it's the same amount as the other one, no worries then. Can they get away from it if they don't do the bloodbath IN the arena and just have a long brawl backstage? Wait Nope...damn suspended Chain... Seriously why couldn't they just do a straight Up match or at least a CHAIN MATCH in the vein of a Strap match or dog collar match?
Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 Vince still believes they have to have some kind of outlandish gimmick to get people into the match.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 17, 2003 And how he came up with a chain match perturbs me...He must have kept the spin the wheel make a deal thingy in his office
{''({o..o})''} 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 I think the blood fine is $5000. I seem to recall Ballz Mahoney saying that somewhere.

Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 The Maryland State Athletic Commission could do a lot more then fine them, as Ballz Mahoney cannot compete in a pro wrestling event there because he's banned from the state for life for bleeding. Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 17, 2003 Does Balls bring in money? Don't think so...Maryland would turn away a big money maker... besides, would WWE miss Baltimore?

Really, who in this day in age wants to see a chain, strap or dog collar match? Aw yes, silly me. Taker is a big bad biker. Biker's carry chains at times. It all makes sense now. Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 The name "Dog Collar Match" is rediculous in itself. I certainly wouldn't buy an event to see that, and I'm sure most casual fans won't either.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 I think JYD and Harley Race had some years ago. Still, would you pay to see a dog collar match on PPV today?

Still, would you pay to see a dog collar match on PPV today? well I can think of two ****+ Dog Collar matches (piper/valentine) and Raven/Richards/Pitbulls...how many classic CHAIN matches are there? Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 As far as I know, the Maryland State Athletic commission stops the match immediately when someone bleeds. I think they then determine what you're penalty is when they see if its blading or hardway. Which leads me to believe that we might we some screwjob finish on Sunday with the blood. 2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2003 According to the rules, if I remember right, you can't bleed in a match unless it was unintentional. In the case of the Taker/Brock match, that'll be a fine cause it's a billed gimmick match and no one will believe you cut your head with a chain by accident. The WWE is already $7000 in the hole on fines. Who knows what else they will add onto that fine list. What a stupid, stupid company.

Mahoney had something like a 6 month suspension. He was allowed back in 2002, I believe. I know for sure he was not banned for life.

Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2003 I have no doubt that Taker/Brock will be at least a watchable, somewhat entertaining brawl. I watched the HIAC match from last year between those two on Thursday (my first time seeing it, mind you), and I liked it. No ***** classic, probably right around *** (if that), but I liked it.
