NFL rul opinion

Do you think it's silly that if a team committs a turnover on a 2 pt. coversion that the defense can't run it back for 2 pts? I mean it just kind of baffles me that there's no risk other than losing a point for the other team.

I think they need to adopt the college rule for it.

EDIT: Ah crap I didn't spell rule correctly.

I actually believe that should be true. And not just 2 pts, but the full 6 and PAT (or a 2 pt convo if the other team is desperate), and if they don't make it, they start from whereever the ball was.

It would keep the game more flowing and besides, it would add some intrigue.

I also think that field goals should be returnable if they miss and are returnable as well.

If they do make it (with your 6 points plus PAT rule), who would get the ball after the second PAT attempt?

I think it should stay the same. I think the rule for college is good for college and the NFL rule fits their style of game better.

I just think it's dumb that if you get an INT on a 2 pt. conversion you can't do anything with it.

I mean it's not like it'll change the game that much as this would happen maybe once a season if that. But it would make more sense it me.

I'm with Mad Dog on this one. It works good for high school, college... hell, even JUNIOR HIGH football (I should know because when I played our team scored that way). Just another silly rule by the NFL.

I could be wrong, but I believe they are. As long as it isn't blocked, a missed FG can be returned as long as the defensive player fields it in the field of play (not sure if he needs to catch it on the fly, though) and the ball did not make contact w/ the goal posts.

Last year Chris McCallister returned a field goal a 100+ yards.

I don't think the defense should be able to score on a two point attempt. The bonus points (XP/2 pt conversion) I see as a reward for scoring the TD. The 2 pt conversion rate is low enough that the risk itself is enough penalty.
