1234-5678 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 All I know is I read something afterwards that this match eventually led to Regal being fired from WCW for the first time. Apparently he wasn't cooperating in the ring, and made Goldberg look like something of a schmuck during his superman push. Can anyone describe exactly what went wrong here? Cause although I was an avid Nitro watcher at the time, I am pretty sure I missed that week.
bob_barron Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 I have the match- Basically Regal was messing with Goldberg and went out there and made him look bad. He took advantage of Goldberg's greeness and was out there for himself.

bob_barron Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 That's what it looked liked to me. I love Regal and all but I will admit that he was completely in the wrong here
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 It's been awhile since I've seen the match but I think Regal shot on him too about halfway through the match.

Guest TheGame2705 Posted October 25, 2003 Report Posted October 25, 2003 To be honest Regal didn't too much to 0wn Goldberg. He tried to mat wrestle with Goldberg and Goldberg just rolled around with him.
Chazz Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 Didn't Regal at one point In The Match legitimatley kick Goldberg In his face, stunning him In the process?
Guest TheGame2705 Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 Possibly but it wasn't like Regal was making Goldberg look like shit. It just looked like a normal match. It's way overhyped.
Downhome Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 It's the most painful match that I've ever seen. I have it on my computer, and every time I watch it, it gives me a headache. Ugh, it's horrible in every way possible, both guys were fucked up.

Goldberg rolled him up, and as the pin was being released and as Goldberg was getting off of Regal, he did indeed kick Goldberg right in the face.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted October 28, 2003 Report Posted October 28, 2003 This was worse than the infamous Alex Wright/Paul Roma match from 1995. Wright just debuted and was given a good push....so Roma does everything possible to make him look like shit. No selling his offense. Controlling 98% of the match. Kicking out of the finish. And just being a total dick for the whole time. And the match was like 15-20 minutes long! (UGH)
