Im saying that and I was saw the latter live and Homicide landed literally at my feet when he tried to jump the rail. The Corino match had a real slow flow, Benoit - Angle is consistantly interesting. Thats my view at least

If it wasn't for Homicide-Corino, it'd be my match of the year for 2003. Having seen Corino/Homicide in person, I can tell you that it's fantastic, but it's not at the same level as Benoit/Angle. C/H resorted more to drama than it did to actual wrestling (that's not to say the drama wasn't amazing, because it most certainly was), but Benoit/Angle really was strictly wrestling and showed exactly what wrestling should be. I think they're two different types of matches that can't really be fairly compared.
Jack_Bauer Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I thought Steve Corino v Homicide was one of the most emotional matches I have ever seen, and the only time in the last three years where I have been on the edge of my seat just WATCHING the thing on a screen. At the end I was a wreck and I realised I just watched something special. Angle v Benoit is just a pure great match. That's the difference. Technically, it was perfect, and the match of the year in WWE for 2003 so far IMO.

Angle/Benoit is great no matter what! And the standing ovation for Benoit was the icing on the cake.

Great drama, blood, atmosphere, and some awesome false finishes towards the end. And no way was the XXX/AMW cage better than Angle-Benoit. It was a good match, but not mindblowingly great on the second viewing.
