bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 Yea- the Corino v. Punk stuff reminds me of 8.16. Yes- Julius Smokes is Homicide's manager
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 Which members of Special K were in the tag match? I don't know their names, sorry. I'm pretty sure it was the same two that won the titles though. Did you pick up any tapes? Meet any of the guys? I bought the DVD for Round Robin Challenge 2 and my friend bought the Bitter friends, Stiffer Enemies tape (he has all the previous ones already) and a NOAH tape. I went to get something to eat but I did see Chris Daniels spending a long time posing and talking with fans and I know Justin Credible did the same. I saw the Carnage Crew about as well. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 One thing of note...Daniels (who was super over of course) really got Walters over big time with the crowd. After his match with Daniels people were into Walters, so when he returned to take Teddy Hart's place in the 4 way people wanted him to win, and were happy when he finally did. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 That's okay- I don't even have all the members of Special K down. RRC2 is a good show- London v. Daniels is fantastic. Watching London work heel against Red and then face v. Daniels is a sight to see. Homicide v. Punk is another great match. The 5-way is really long but good stuff and the title match is too short but again- is good. Nothing on the show sucks though- even the chick match is decent

The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 I wanted it for the Daniels/London match (and hey...2 Paul London matches and 2 Chris Daniels matches is good news for me...plus...I like Red) and I've heard great things about the Punk/Homicide match and wanted to check that out. Both Punk and Corino have awesome enterances so watching them come out for the match was real fun. Plus...everyone was so into both guys that it was a great atmosphere. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 Oh- one more thing bps- RRC 2 has a hilarious Second City Saints promo as well. Cabana, Lucy and Punk=comic gold
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 I agree. I don't remember what tape I was watching but I really got into what Homicide was doing. He doesn't look like he'd be an awesome worker...but he is. I think the match was a six man where Joe kept dropping knee bombs on him...but I might be mistaken.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 Homicide was in a 6-man against Joe at All Star Extravaganza. Homicide/Ki/Williams v. Joe/Morgan/Daniels. A lot of people write off Homicide as a New Jack wannabe but he's so much more then that. Homicide v. Raven could be an awesome bloodbath

Guest Devin Report post Posted October 26, 2003 Homicide would be perfect in TNA. Just watch his match with Trent Acid, and you'll see he knows how to put on great" TNA style" (read: twenty minutes worth of spots squeezed into an eight minute match) matches. I also think TNA should have Samoa Joe replace the Red Shirt Security as Callis' muscle.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 Homicide vs. Samoa Joe from Do Or Die is still one of my most favorite matches from Ring of Honor. They are both really good at beating the shit out of each other.

Michrome 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 If TNA picked up Homicide, they would probably give him a rapper gimmick or a slave gimmick or something. Keep him the fuck away from TNA, please.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 Yeah, He doesn't deserve to get paid on Wednesdays... Seriously...I don't understand how working in TNA is going to do anything to affect Ring of Honor. In fact...2 years from now when CM Punk is still around without the opportunity to have been signed away by WWE...maybe then someone will realize those TNA contracts are GOOD for RoH.
Michrome 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 I don't think WWE will be signing Homicide anytime soon, they have nothing to gain from it, really. And TNA does do damage, for example, ruining the hate between Punk and Raven by freaking aligning them on their show, and cancelling the RoH hair vs. hair match so they could do one of their own that drew less flies than my dog's shit does. I mean, it hurts RoH when their "stars" are made to look like jobbing assclowns on Wednesday nights.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 TNA is actually helping Ring of Honor and all other independent federations by insuring that guys like Christopher Daniels, A.J. Styles, C.M. Punk, and Raven are not going to be signed by WWE. So, instead of complaining about C.M. Punk not feuding with Raven in every post, you should start talking about other shit like Low Ki continually choosing Japan over Ring of Honor.
Michrome 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2003 I do, it's just on other message boards. And I will continue to bitch about CM Punk because the whole thing is so fucking dumb. TNA's fans are independent wrestling fans, and they should treat them with a little bit of respect for their intelligence.
Guest Devin Report post Posted October 26, 2003 If TNA picked up Homicide, they would probably give him a rapper gimmick or a slave gimmick or something. Keep him the fuck away from TNA, please. You mean like ROH calling him a thug every chance they get, or the announcers always talking about how he's from the streets? What's the difference between giving someone a "thug" gimmick or a "rapper" gimmick?
Michrome 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 The difference being that Homicide would get to wrestle 3 minute matches a couple times a month. He's not over in RoH because of his gimmick, he's over because of his ringwork, which we'd never get to see in TNA.
Guest Devin Report post Posted October 27, 2003 You mean, like say.... Chris Sabin? You know, the guy who's lost every match he's had in ROH. Also, the guy who was X Division Champ longer then anyone in history, and first ever Super X Tourney Winner? Come on.... I like ROH as much as the next guy, but that doesn't blind me to (i)other company's positive aspects, and (ii)the negatives of ROH's product. At least back up your arguments with facts, not assumptions on what could (or would) happen.

Chris Sabin, shouldn't have won any of those matches, stop being a blind Sabin mark, and realize that ROH is doing this so, when Sabin wins his first match it will mean something. It's called building up a new wrestler, something TNA isn't that good at.

It's called building up a new wrestler, something TNA isn't that good at. I wouldn't even consider myself a Sabin fan, let alone a "blind Sabin mark". Hell, I wouldn't even consider him one of the top, say 50 workers in the U.S. indies. You know what they say about people who assume things, right? That said, Sabin is not Dunn & Marcos, nor is he the 1-2-3 Kid. You may feel this is what it takes to get Sabin over, or "build him up" as a "new wrestler", but I'd have to disagree. Hell, he's one of the most over guys in TNA right now, and that's going to increase once he turns face. Did it take him losing match after match to get him there? For not being good at building up new wrestlers, TNA's obviously done something right.
Guest TDinDC1112 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 And TNA does do damage, for example, ruining the hate between Punk and Raven by freaking aligning them on their show Wrestling is fake, right? TNA has signed guys to contracts, and produces a weekly ppv show. They can do whatever they want with whoever they want and book them any way they choose. If the guys don't like it, then they don't have to wrestle there. They can work for all those other indy's that provide a payday for the boys on a Wednesday night. Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted October 27, 2003 TNA should give Homicide a shot. He can work any style and I think he could get over They wouldn't book him strong enough. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2003 Sabin SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SQUASHED BY XAVIER. That was a bad match, and when the tape comes out it won't be hard to see WHY it was bad.
Guest Stevie Franchise Report post Posted October 28, 2003 Sabin SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SQUASHED BY XAVIER. That was a bad match, and when the tape comes out it won't be hard to see WHY it was bad. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 I know what I saw. Sabin got in about 5 offensive moves...none of which Xavier took properly. I sat and watched the match...and Xavier squashed him.
