chirs3 0 Report post Posted October 28, 2003 I realize this is a longshot, but... I have to work a concessions booth at a concert tonight, so I'm leaving the job of taping the 24 Season Premier in my parents' hands. My parents' completely incapable hands. I know some people here are able to take wrestling matches recorded on TV and make them available for download - any chance in hell someone can do that here, in case my parents screw up? Like I said, I know it's a longshot, but still... can't blame a guy for trying, right?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 28, 2003 You don't even really need to ask for it. There will likely be many copies of tonights episode available for DL by Wednesday morning.

Guest drdrainoscott Report post Posted October 29, 2003 I wish I could just buy the season 3 DVD set RIGHT NOW. I don't know if I can take another season of waiting week after week and then putting up with FOX's horrible month-long breaks between episodes Ugh, that was the worst...especially when they gave us one episode after being off for three weeks then went off for another month, talk about a tease, geeze. The long breaks are necessary for the shows writers. Sutherland himself, said that during an interview last year. I can't believe that the writers would write the show on the fly. They have to do a majority of the writing before filming. There's too much going on at one time to write the show on the fly. Then you toss in the 24 hour time period gimmick, which would make it even harder to do it on the fly. If the writers truly do write a majority of the show on the fly, I have alot of respect for them. on letterman last night, Kiefer said that they have been filming for over 6 months now. That would lead me to believe that most of this year has been filmed already, or else there is some complex shit that is going to be happening that took a long time to film. No matters, I can't wait for tonight! And, for the person that wanted to download 24. Last year I had a class at 8pm on Tuesdays (how much does that suck?) and I would always download the latest episode the next day, and sometimes even earlier that Tuesday, from www.suprnova.org. You need Bit Torrent, but it worked great.

MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 As per last year, I already saw tonights episode, and the only thing Im gonna say is that compared to last years first hour, its much better. In my opinion, last years first hour was really boring. Tonights, in contrast, is not.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted October 29, 2003 I'm calling it...they are grooming Kim's boyfriend to take Jack's spot if Kiefer decides to leave the show. Of course, since I called that he'll end up being one of the surprise villians

Edwin MacPhisto 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Three years into the future! Palmer lives! Principal Robin Wood is his brother! Kim's functional! And getting railed by Jack's partner! Jack's insane, even moreso than last year! And he's kickin' drugs to the curb! The reveal of the tattoo on his arm was wicked. Evil Mexicans! A disappointing level of non-violence to start us out after last year's opening killfest, but they had a lot to do. Everyone's sick, it seems, which adds a cool, weird parallel tension to the stories already. I'm really excited to see Palmer back. I'd kept myself totally unspoiled and thought they were going to have him die from the assassination attempt. I love this show.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 I'd like to repeat that again. "Wow. Damn." I'm liking this show more with every episode.
El Gigante 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Wow. I can say that episode did a good job of setting everything up for whats going to go down this season. I just get the feeling that Jack isn't going to make it through this day.
The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 It was pretty good. There's not much else to say, but at least it sets us up for the rest of the season.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Chase pisses me off. I thought for sure if anything happened to Jack that they'd give the role/focus to Tony, but he's obviously being phased out this season one way or another. And I don't think Chase has 1/2 of the badass in him that Jack has... And even though I read spoilers that said Kim was working at CTU, she has no business there, and to top it off the whole thing with Chase. Blah.
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Hopefully this role will keep Kim out of the rediculous situations she ends up in...or at least cut it down a bit. As for Tony taking over as the elad role, I neve saw that as a possibility, I love Tony but he's a side charecter...besides I don't think there's anything in his charecter that would work in the lead as he's not a field agent...I don't think he'd be able to survive most of the situations Jack has to go through. The Dames 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Wow...Unfuckingbelievable. I loved this episode and the way the stage is set, this will be a hell of a lot better than Season 2. Don't get me wrong, Season 2 was good...but I prefer it when the ongoing events are "personal", ala Season 1. The flashback at the beginning of the episode gave it a very morbid feeling...and I loved it. I liked the bit of continuity where Kate called Jack, showing that they broke up. Chase seems cool, able to stand up to Jack, but until I see him in an action sequence, I don't know if I'd say he's bad ass just yet. Yes, Jack is an asshole...that's what happens when you turn to smack. The reveal of the tattoo was pretty damn nasty. What I'd like to know is this....are Jack and Tony Co-Directors of CTU? President Palmer with a WHITE WOMAN? GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE! She ain't even fine. The White Woman is evil. Principal Wood (I will never call him by his real name) as Palmer's Brother...rules. I guess the Pres figured that if he can't trust Mike, he can at least trust family. What happened to Lynne from Season 2? Or Jenny? Tony and Michelle and married....awww. I have a feeling one of them will bite the bullet. ...What did you guys think of the Ford commercials, btw? I thought it ruled, trying to crossover with 24 like that. Oh...Salazar is an excellent heel. His brother's girl is smokin'....so she'll be dead in a few eps. Oh...did anyone else catch that they caught those responsible for attempting to kill the Pres? That was a weak blowoff.... Mandy and Nina must return though. They MUST. Dames
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 What I'd like to know is this....are Jack and Tony Co-Directors of CTU? I think it was mentinoed briefly when that guy<can't remember his name> complained to TOny about Jack's secretary and Tony said something about to different divisions....I think Tony runs the intel section and Jack runs the field section. OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 I fought this for two seasons. But I have officially changed teams. KIM MUST DIE!!! KIM=STEPHANIE MCMAHON-HELMSLEY Ok, got that out of my system. Excellent first episode. This is the first season I am actually watching as they air. I miss Mason. Oh...did anyone else catch that they caught those responsible for attempting to kill the Pres? That was a weak blowoff.... Mandy and Nina must return though. They MUST. Dames Jack and Tony are heads of two subdivisions of CTU. I don't know about Jenny but Lynne was incapicitated when she fell from the stairs. Maybe they caught who they thought attacked the Pres, not the real group. I still think Nina and Mandy work for Germany who is trying to attack the U.S. underground. Awesome ep! Have you noticed somebody dies in the first ep every year? Cool little trend.
Mole 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 I haven't watched 24 before on TV. I watched half of season 1 on DVD and never had the time to watch the second half, which I am guessing I should get around too. Tonight's episode rocked, and I liked the twist with Jack being a drug addict. And with Principal Wood being on the show, rocks. Question though: Is Jack going to be out of the show after this season or something?
