Guest Redhawk Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 On Friday, Rockets PF Eddie Griffin gets arrested for allegedly punching and shooting at a woman in his house. Over the weekend, former lightweight champion boxer Paul Spadafora gets arrested for shooting a woman in his car (she's still alive; he says it was a carjacker that shot her). Then today, I read that Jaguars LB T.J. Slaughter gets arrested for pointing a gun at two people in a passing car. Is it male PMS time or what?
Guest jpclemmons Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 these guys are really giving a bad image to the NBA.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 Interesting since only ONE of them plays in the NBA, and he's been an ass since his days at Seton Hall, and even through high school. Helluva player though, and he only needs a good coach to showcase that ability.
Red Baron Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 and these guys will pay a fine, probation, and then they are scott free.
Guest Redhawk Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 I'm not so sure about Spadafora getting off scott-free. Boxers don't have nearly the same mainstream celebrity as NFL or NBA players, even if said boxer is a former champ and the NFL player is a backup no-name. Plus, people are more likely to believe a boxer is a thug than another athlete. Anyway, with the latest news that's come out about Eddie Griffin, I think that dude might just be going crazy. What kind of trouble was he getting into at Seton Hall? Wasn't he only there for a year?
The Czech Republic Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 I thought that it said "bad things happen in trees" and maybe some athlete had an accident up in that big sycamore in his front yard.

I'm pretty sure he was involved in group beatings in high school, and was generally a problem throughout university. I guess he just wanted to get into the NBA as fast as possible though. He's got game, he just needs a coach to harness it.
Spaceman Spiff Posted October 31, 2003 Report Posted October 31, 2003 Then today, I read that Jaguars LB T.J. Slaughter gets arrested for pointing a gun at two people in a passing car. Apropos last name.

"Don't ASK how my balls got stuck in the knothole!" was the only quote we could get from an unidentified NBA player who was apparently trying to have sexual intercourse with a tree... In football news..." -Ben
