Guest JRE Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Damn, I hope they filmed...like...a few more seasons with different people before this one ever aired, heh. Otherwise they'll have to bring in the EUROPEAN JOE SCHMO
fazzle 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Oh my god. That was SO FUCKING LAME. There was what, maybe, MAYBE 30 minutes of actual Joe Schmo show? The rest of it was pointless filler bullshit. I hate myself for even watching all of it.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Oh my god. That was SO FUCKING LAME. There was what, maybe, MAYBE 30 minutes of actual Joe Schmo show? The rest of it was pointless filler bullshit. I hate myself for even watching all of it. I thought that "filler" tied the show together perfectly. You're like the only one who seems to feel that way. I'm glad they interviewed Matt afterwards because if they didn't I would have had a lot of unanswered questions.
fazzle 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Maybe if it was one hour, with the first half hour recrap, and the interview was condensed. It just felt like it was really REALLY dragging to me.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 The recap was only 20 minutes and I'm glad the interview wasn't condensed because there were still things they didn't touch on with him.
fazzle 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 I seem to remember it being closer to 30, but I counted the first five votes as part of the recap also, since those were shown on the last episode. Either way, it was a recap, with a damn commercial break in it! That's a sign it's way too fucking long. Plus most of the interview was recap, just with commentary. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 But the interview was basically an extended bit of his reaction and that was what everyone was wanting to see was his reaction. I wanted more interview after it was over.
fazzle 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Maybe if his reaction was better I would have been interested, but he was just so boring at the end. I spent the last 30-45 minutes asking myself why I was still watching this when I could be playing HCTP.
dubq 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Damn, I hope they filmed...like...a few more seasons with different people before this one ever aired, heh. Otherwise they'll have to bring in the EUROPEAN JOE SCHMO Not necessarily. All they'd have to do is change the actors, and the host, and the name of the fake show... it's gotta be pretty easy to fool anyone willing to be on a "reality" tv show.. OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 I said this before and will again, if they do a season 2, the Schmoe has to be in on it. I think 2 hours was a bit long but I really enjoyed the show. I have to admit I teared up a few times. I still think Ralph kind of came off as a tool. Molly, out of character saying that she loved his eyes totally opened the door for him to make a move in real life. Hutch actually seems like a nice guy Brian type in real life. He played his part well.
Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Then why watch!? I hate this "IT WAS SO FUCKING HORRIBLE I GOUGED MY EYES OUT....then kept watching" bullshit. I had one gripe, and that was not knowing what the hell all that banging they teased with was. I guess now the popping of some balloons, but I was really banking on him getting mad and destroying some things. I like the way they actually told him, his reaction when they all started raising there hands was priceless, and for a second there I thought there was gonna be the old double swerve with Brian. I liked the show, but would of liked a twist at the end. I guess I'm just conditioned into expecting a twist every ten seconds after watching Paradise hotel. fazzle 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Then why watch!? I hate this "IT WAS SO FUCKING HORRIBLE I GOUGED MY EYES OUT....then kept watching" bullshit. Because I loved the rest of the series. I was waiting for the finale to get better...it just didn't happen.

I guess now the popping of some balloons, but I was really banking on him getting mad and destroying some things. That was the confetti cannons going off after Hutch won. They just tacked on Matt's "WHAT IS GOING ON?!" in editing to make it seem like something different.
Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Ralph is on KROQ's morning show in LA everyday, and they interviewed Matt this morning. I missed it though, I only caught Kevin and Bean talking about how nice Matt is.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2003 For those that care… LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- The season finale of reality TV series "The Joe Schmo Show" on Tuesday gave cable's Spike TV its highest-rated program to date, drawing 3.4 million total viewers. "Schmo," which revolves around a contestant who does not know that he is part of an elaborate hoax, shattered its previous high of 1.6 million viewers and saw its core male audience also well-represented. An hourlong postshow interview also scored well, reaching 2.4 million viewers.

I'm guessing they're only counting shows since TNN was changed to Spike TV, because I know Raw did higher than that back in the day.

This thread was around first. I made a thread for discussing the new run of the show, and pointing it out. This thread happens to be for the season finale. Why let the duscussion of the new "season" get lost in this thread for the season finale?
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 (edited) Because if someone sees this thread bumped they're gonna come in to see why. Everyone came in here to discuss this show in general so why start another one. That's why we have so much trouble with multiple threads about the same topic in some folders. And it's not a "new season" it's just reruns with commentary. Personally I'll be watching 24 and I'll just wait for the DVD to get the commentary. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 Oh bah his commentary is just at the commercial breaks. I was hoping for running commentary throughout the show.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 So was I, that was pretty freaking lame. The little pop-up bubbles were kind of amusing though. "There were two reasons Molly was hired for this role, and this performance was not one of them."
art_vandelay 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 Yeah, kinda disappointing. I felt like I was duped into watching a re-run with about 2% new content.
