Anything appealing at SurSer?

i'm looking forward to the 5 on 5 smackdown match even though there's not really a point or solid story to it.

with benoit/angle/lesnar/cena in the match, i'll definitely enjoy it. i'm also looking forward to see nathan jones because even though they threw him in OVW for a bit i believe...he's still going to go out there and perform like absolute craaaaaaaaap. it'll be funny i'm sure, let's just hope he doesn't kill anyone.

i'd like to see nathan jones in the ring with angle or benoit...angle and benoit can carry a lot of crap wrestlers and make them look at least decent...would they be able to carry jones at all? haha, maybe not.

even though holly sucks, i kinda wanna see him...no reason really. i bet he's gonna wrestle stiff as hell when he's in the ring with lesnar ha.

If that's the case, hopefully Brock puts him back on the shelf.

Here's the kicker...

Does Holly go stiff on Brock for revenge or does he actually play it smart and NOT hurt the Company's #1 guy?

He can't look intimidating to save his life unless he goes Stiff but he can't because he knows it's his ass if something happens to Brock.

Should be amusing to see what his ego does.

I was under the impression that Heyman booked the match because he wanted to show off his new found superstars and convinced Angle to do the match and that he could be the leader...

I was under the impression that the WWE writing team was too damn lazy to write a on screen reasoning so they just made the match and left an actual purpose for the fans to decide.

Did they really ever provide a reason for ANY of the old school SurSer matches?

1989 EXAMPLE:

Sure, Hogan hates DiBiase and vice versa, but WHY did DiBiase decide to get 4 partners and face him in an elimination match when he could just beat his ass mano e mano in a cage and WIN THE TITLE (his primary goal in the first place)?

At least with the Rumble it made sense to have 30 people in the match because EVERYONE wants a title shot @ WM, but what's really in it for you if you're on a team of 4 or 5? Heck, depending on who the opposition tags in/out, you might not even be able to get your hands on who you're feuding with.

And who dictates the size of each team, anyway? Why couldn't Andre have insisted on having a team of 6 back in '87? Or did all the WWF wrestlers get a memo from Jack Tunney dictating that they HAD to have teams of 5 and compete under elimination rules?

Just some things I've always wondered about SurSer....

Agreed Fashion Plate, you beat me to it. They never explain why there's 5 on 5 or 4 on 4 elimination matches at Survivor Series. It *used* to be the whole point of the show. Have we all forgotten?

The reason this match in on that card is because it's a Survivor Series show and that's the type of match special for Survivor Series. Sheesh.

You may as well ask why they had that tournament-thingy at King of the Ring every year.

Holly f*cked with Brock before, and wound up getting accidentally dropped on his head and breaking his neck. I don't see the wisdom in fucking with Brock again.

ALSO, that was SO Holly's fault. He was making it hard for Brock to pick him up (who knows why?) and got dropped on his head.

Sigh...i hate Hardcore Holly. I hope he rips something 9 seconds into the match so he has to be eliminated.

Triple H is trying to do what Hogan always did in WCW. He takes a few weeks off, returns and gets the "superstar return pop," and gets cheered over the suppose face in the match.

That way he can say "see, they want me with the title. I'm the real draw."

Hogan always did this during the NWO.
