Man Hit by Car, Lodged in Windshield

SEATTLE (AP) - A driver was charged with hitting a man with his car, driving four blocks with the victim lodged in the windshield, then dumping the man in the street and driving away.

Troy Hagen, 29, of Olympia, was charged Friday with vehicular homicide and hit-and-run; he is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in King County Superior Court.

Court papers alleged Hagen was driving high on methamphetamine early Sunday morning. The victim, Walter High, had just left a nightclub and was standing by a parked car, talking with passengers when he was hit.

The force threw him on the hood of Hagen's car and propelled him headfirst through the windshield.

The documents said Hagen drove for more than four blocks before stopping. He allegedly removed High's body and left it in the street, then drove another 11 blocks before calling 911 to report the accident.

Hagen said his cell phone wasn't working at the scene so he drove to a better location where he could get a better a connection. The call came about 20 minutes after the accident.

It was not immediately known Friday whether Hagen had retained a lawyer.

In a similar case, former nurse's aide Chante Mallard was sentenced to 50 years in prison in June for striking a homeless man with her car and leaving him lodged in the windshield to die.

Man this shit is almost as bad as the Chante Mallard case.

20 MINUTES?!?!

Too bad that Verizon guy wasn't there at the scene.

Please, please, please, don’t let this guy be white and get a lesser sentence than Mallard.

(Probably will because A] This ain't Texas, and B] He didn't leave him for days in his garage to die.)

I can hear the cries of RACISM coming from Jesse and Poo-Face now...

Who was black; Mallard or the homeless guy?

Um, not all blacks will agree with that KKK. For one, I think the bitch got off light for letting someone die in a windsheild. And this person shall get 30 to 50 years. Depending on how good of a lawyer they hire.

Worse -- he didn't hit a homeless person.

50+ years all the same...

Homeless in Seattle really isn't that bad, actually. I was suprised. And you can like, walk across the street at an intersection without being made into a pancake and shit.

By comparison, a Seattle-ite walking through San Francisco would probably demand hazard pay.

With all that rain? I don't think so.

Having spent my fair share of days in Pittsburgh during morning and afternoon rush-hour, traffic there isn't too bad, unlike other cities...

I see about a dozen cars in my 20 mile drive to work every day. Traffic is a non issue here.
