He's just your typical old coach that acts like a hardass, and yammers on about hockey like he has any more knowledge than the common fan. There's many worse than him on TV, however. Actually my grandfather likes Don and so we watched. I was into hockey when I was little, hence I listened to Cherry adamantly, and so, I like the guy. Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 I like the guy. I can completely understand why people don't like him but he entertains me ...along with his interaction with Ron McLean. And he's only on about 5 minutes a show. I don't see how he taints it that bad. And the rest of HNIC's coverage is great. I'll watch any game on CBC before ESPN. If you don't live within reach of a Canadian station,I think the only hope is DirecTV or something. That's how I get to see it in Missouri. The NHL package.
