Coach of the Year: Bill Parcells(Has the #1 Defense in the NFL and has his team sitting at 6-2/7-2 when everybody was thinking they'd win this many games all year!)

Rookie of the Year: Domanick Davis(587 yards rushing, averaging 5.1 YPC and emerged seemingly out of nowhere for the Texans)

MVP: Dante Hall(4 TD's on Returns tying the single season record IIRC in only 9 games! 1,387 all-purpose yards b/w rushing, receiving and returns which should get close to 2,000-2,500 as the season continues)

Offensive Player of the Year: Torry Holt(1,016 yards receiving and 9 TD's at the halfway point, could reach 2,000 receiving yards/15+ TD's by season's end. More yards receiving then Moss and 1 TD less))

Defensive Player of the Year: Mike Rucker(11 Sacks and 40 Tackles, better numbers then Simeon Rice, Jevon Kearse and just as good as Michael Strahan)

MVP: Steve McNair. He's the main cog in the Titans' offense, and considering that Eddie George is little more than a corpse at this point, McNair has a heavier burden than most QBs. He's an excellent scrambler and runner, has a strong arm, and his teammates would gladly take a bullet for him.

ROY: Domanick Davis. It's easy to forget that Stacey Mack was supposed to be the Texans' RB.

Coach of the Year: Bill Belichick (sp?). Yes, Parcells has done a smashing job in Dallas, but Belichick is winning with a negligible running game, a ton of injuries, and a tougher schedule. Dallas may yet falter as they start playing winning teams; the same will not be true of the Patriots. And that intentional safety against Denver was *genius*.

Offensive Player of the Year: Tie, JAMAL~! and PRIEST~!. JAMAL~! leads the known universe in rushing, and is the reason the Ravens' offense is even on the radar. PRIEST~! is the most complete back in the league and a vital key to the Chiefs' unbeaten record thus far.

Defensive Player of the Year: Ray Lewis. There is no better defensive player in the league. Heck, Chris Mortensen thinks Lewis is the best player in the NFL, period. He just might be.

Special Teams Player of the Year: Dante Hall. Duh.

I though ROY got split into offense and defense.

MVP: McNair

Off. ROY: Davis

Def. ROY: Nick Barnett (I am not too familiar with the defensive rookies, I think he is leading all MLB's (or at least NFC) in tackles. So that gets him in here)

Honorable mention: Clinton Hart (fuck you, I get a homer pick) But I do think he has done a great job filling in for Dawkins and want to see him get some love.

Offensive Player: Jamal Lewis. He is the Ravens offense, as opposed to Holmes having the defense spread out more in front of him. This could flip with Priest any given week, however.

Defensive Player: Ray Lewis

Coach: Bill Parcells

Executive of the Year: Panthers GM. Whoever it is. For getting Stephen Davis and getting John Fox a defense.

MVP: Steve McNair. He picked up the tempo with the passing game when the running game went under and did a great job with it.

Coach of the Year: Bill Parcells. Its amazing what he has done with Dallas in such little time.

ROY: Domminick Davis. Stacey Mack is a bum. Plain and simple.

Offensive Player of the Year: Priest Holmes. He is just that damn good.

Defensive Player of the Year: Ray Lewis. The backbone of the Ravens defense.

Executive of the Year: Houston Texans GM for building a good offense. If Davis does not get ROY than WR Andre Johnson should get it.

Defensive Player of the Year: Corey Chavous who is one of the leaders in INTs this year.

Coach of the year: Dick Vermeil. They're 9-0, for God's sake. I don't think Parcells will be getting quite as much love when the Cowboys are sitting at 8-8 at the end of the year. Still a great coaching job, but losing 6 of 7 to end the season is going to taint the views of the voters.

MVP: Steve McNair. He makes the Titans go. Take him away and they struggle to make the playoffs.

Offensive PoY: Torry Holt. On his way to the greatest single season by a receiver of all time.

Defensive PoY: Ray Lewis. I think he's better than LT, and LT was probably the greatest LB ever.

Special Teams PoY: Dante Hall. Duh.

That's nuts. 8-8 (if they actually fall that far) with the Cowboys' talent is a damn fine job. In the end, depending on how the season plays out, it might be a little short of Coach of the Year honors, but to take away from Parcells for going 8-8 is lunacy.

Seriously....unless the Chiefs go 15-1 (or, dare I say, 16-0), Parcells is very deserving of Coach of the Year. Why? Because 8-8 with the Cowboys, to me, would be a bigger achievement than winning the division with KC. The Chiefs were a decent team last year (8-8, if memory serves correct)...the Cowboys were one of the worst in the league for three straight, and they still have a lot of the same personnel this year. Throw in the Chiefs' relatively cupcake schedule (versus the Murderers' Row the Cowboys appear to be entering), and it's a no-brainer.

Screw Parcells.

Yea he is a good motivator and a good news story every week but I could coach that team with that defense to beat the garbage teams they have beaten.

Cowboys fans and Parcells ass kissers should hold off until they prove something and win a playoff game against a worthy opponent. Beating the Giants, Eagles, Redskins, Bills, Cardinals, Jets, and Lions is not exactly impressive.

Losing to a sad ass Buccaneers and a Vick-Less Falcons is embarrassing. Dallas SHOULD be 9-0 like KC with that pathetic schedule.

Worst part is, the next 2 games for Dallas are the only games against "Good" teams. Even if Carolina is not really that great either. If Dallas beats New England this weekend they should run the damn table and finish 14-2.

Remember boys and girls, the NFC is to the AFC as the NBA East is to the NBA West.

The topic was Mid-Season Award Winners. Dosen't matter what they will do. It matters what they have done. Honestly I think Vermiel is one of the Ten best NFL coaches ever. However, I knew the Cheifs were going to be great coming into this season as long as Priest Holmes was healthy. They were 8-8 last year despite losing their first round pick to a preseason injury, and Priest Holmes missing the final two games of the season. They improved their defense at all three levels through free agency, and their first round pick from last year who was injured in the preseason was back and 100% healthy. You add four talented players to a defense that only needed to hold opponents under 20, give the most balenced offfense in the league another year to gell, and bring back the best kick returner in the league and you get a great team. What Parcells has done is even more amazing. He took a team that went 5-11 over the last three years and only added one signifacant player in the draft or free agency and turned them into a very good team. Parcells was the only other meaningful addition. Their being better this year than the last three is a direct result of him looking at the team and working to its strengths. No matter how the season ends he has been the coach of the year at mid-season.

Another bitter Patriots fan, huh? :D

I would love to see that.

I don't recall anyone ever claiming the Cowboys were going to win the Super Bowl. Nobody worthy of being taken seriously, anyway. Hell, I love the Cowboys (no sense in denying it), but I think their chances of winning anything major this year are rather small.

Losing to a sad ass Buccaneers and a Vick-Less Falcons is embarrassing. Dallas SHOULD be 9-0 like KC with that pathetic schedule.

The Bucs can still play when they want to, and the Cowboys were due to lose because, oh my gosh, THEY'RE NOT A GREAT TEAM. As for the Falcons' loss...well, I guess maybe it was first-game jitters or something. It happens. Houston took down Miami on opening day, after all.

@ New England

Carolina

Miami

@ Philly

THAT'S not a killer schedule?? Those four games, in consecutive weeks? Geez man, your standards are pretty high. I won't even mention having to close the season with the Giants (who always seem to have it together that time of year) and Saints (you never know how good they will be on a given day) because it'd be lunacy to count those as tough games by your logic.

Remember boys and girls, the NFC is to the AFC as the NBA East is to the NBA West.

No argument here.

Offensive ROY: Dominick Davis (HOU)

Defensive ROY: Eugene Wilson (NWE) (3 INTs leads all rookies)

MVP: Steve McNair (TEN)

Offensive POY: PRIEST~! (Has more TDs than JAMAL~!)

Defensive POY: Ray Lewis (BAL)

Coach of the Year: I really can't decide between Parcells and Belichick. I'll hold my vote off until after the Sunday night game.

Special Teams POY: Dante Hall (KC)

Top 5 teams in NFL:

1. Chiefs

2. Patriots

3. Titans

4. Colts

5. Panthers (why not? Beat the Bucs twice.)

MVP - Steve McNair (TEN)

ROTY - Domminick Davis (HOU)

Offensive Player of the Year - Priest Homles (KC)

Defenisve Player of the Year - Ray Lewis (Ravens)

Coach of the Year - Bill Parcells

Parcells has done what nobody expected them to do this year -- turn the Cowboys around in his FIRST season as coach. People expected him to turn around the ship, but not this soon. And he's doing it mostly with Dave Campos' players.

It doesn't matter if they finish 8-8 as long as their defense can keep them in the game like they've done in their 2 losses. Their offense is still iffy; sometimes they'll play good, other times not. I'm still not sold on Carter or Hambrick. But I think they can ride it out.

With the NFC East -- and the entire conference for that matter -- being the way it is, I wouldn't be shocked if the 'Boys make the playoffs.

Ok maybe I was a tad too harsh...

BUT

Miami is not that good either after what I have been watching in recent weeks. Ricky "God of RB's" Williams looks like a shadow of his former self and that Defense doesn't strike fear in anyone anymore.

Philly is nothing, sorry Pinjockey. They just aren;t a consistently good football team and Dallas should win that game.

The Giants are incredibly overrated because of "The Shockey Factor" and ya know what? He's gone now. Good Bye Giants.

The Carolina game will be very tough as they have a great Defense, I expect something like 13-10 final score from that game. If the score is any higher it's because there were fumble and INT returns for TD's.

This weekend's game at New England is a toss up honestly. Pats are playing above themselves too.

No i'm not a bitter Patriots fan when it comes to Parcells, well not completely. You would be kinda upset with the guy too if he cost Dallas a Super Bowl title by making it clear he was going somewhere else after that season ended.

They may not be that good, but they were the better team in their game against Dallas. They handed them the game, and now having to come up to Philly doesn't exactly spell a walkover.

Yeah, what the FUCK was Andy Reid smoking to think that the onside kick would be a good idea?

What? Do you mean that trying to pull what you did against Dave Campo on Bill Parcells is a bad idea?

And no, that is not an "in hindsight" statement. Even if it worked it would have been a stupid move.

Pinjockey - yes, trying the onside kick again. It worked once...it's probably not gonna work again, regardless of whoever's patrolling the Dallas sideline. I agree that even if it works, it's a horrible idea.

Parcells even said after the game that they were "ready" for it. Reid had a major brainfart there.

Coach of The Year Top 5

1. Belichek (Won with an actual Tough Schedule)

2. Parcells (Revived the Boys although that pansy ass schedule helped them)

3. Vermeil (9-0 is impressive enough)

4. Lewis (4-5 may not sound great but what he has done for Cincy is remarkable)

5. Fox (One of the best make up jobs ever)

Sure Dallas had a easy schedule in the first half of the season, but the fact he's doing it with almost all of last year's 5-11 team is what puts him over the top IMO.

To me the only hard game the Cowboys have left is against NE & Philly, especially with them having to go on the road. Other than that I think everybody they have left is beatable.

Why did it JUST so happen that Cowboys seemed to the Draw the Parcells redemption tour?

Giants, Jets, Patriots. All Away.

I'd like to think NFL set it up so that the expected sucky Cowboys would have a storyline every week.
