4. Bret Hart- Greatest Canadian wrestler ever.

Oh, I don't know...

I'd rate Benoit over Hart. Benoit was a much more versatile wrestler.

You've got a point, but you'd have to give a few extra points for Hart being the only wrestler who was more hated than Hogan in 97' ( Even though I cheered them both)

Barry Windham was good but considering the other members of the 4 Horsemen, he is not Top 10 caliber.

which other members? Sid?

Hell, I'd take Bazza over Arn.

My personal picks, based on when I started watching wrestling (June '97) to now. All are for WWF/WWE.

1) Steve Austin ('97 to 2001)

2) The Rock ('98 to 2000)

3) Kurt Angle (2000 to now)

4) Triple H (1998, 2000 to 2001)

5) Mick Foley (1997 to 2000)

6) Chris Jericho (2000 to now)

7) Undertaker ('97 to '98, 2002)

8) Bret Hart ('97)

9) Kane ('97 to '99, '01, '03)

10) Brock Lesnar (2002 to now)

No Eddie yet you have Kane and Undertaker?

I'm basing it on who ment the most to storylines and angles in WWE.

Undertaker and Kane had a big "brotherly feud" thing going for a long while, and they had one of the biggest storylines (although it was pretty unrealistic) of the late 90's. Undertaker's still getting huge pops and Kane is a huge, fearsome monster even though the Shane angle is very stale.

Eddie wasn't even in the WWF from 1997-2000, so that's one of your reasons there. While Eddie was finally getting over with the Mamacita thing, it cooled down and then he got fired. When he came back, he didn't really have too many storylines even though he was the Intercontinental Champion. He finally found his niche with Los Guerreros, and this summer, I dare say he was one of the most over superstars on SmackDown. Now, after losing to the Big Show he's not as "big" a superstar as he was months ago, but he still means something to SmackDown. Don't get me wrong, Eddie's one of my favourite wrestlers, but he's not been as valuable as some of these hosses.

Maybe a few months from now, Eddie could have a shot in making it to the top ten, but right now, uh-uh. I'd put him around the 15-30 zone.

Just wondering what are the other 4 matches in your WWE/F top 5?

Austin/Hart - Survivor Series 1996

Austin/Hart - Wrestlemania 13

Hart/Hart - Wrestlemania 10

Haven't really decided on the last...maybe Austin/Foley - Over The Edge 1998, Michaels/Foley - Mind Games 1996, or Austin/Benoit - Smackdown 5/31/01.

Barry Windham ruled. I wish death on myself for not mentioning him.

Interesting since my top 5 is the exact same except in the 5th spot is Savage/Flair from WM8.

heh, forgot about Savage-Flair. ;)

Surely in my top 10 at least.

Maybe I should start a top 10 WWF/E matches ever topic...

Does Austin's best surpass Hansen-Kobashi 7/93? I say no.

the man speaks the truth. that's the only hansen match i've ever seen, so i can't fairly rate him as a worker (especially considering he was working with kobashi), but that match surpasses anything i've ever seen austin do. the match invites itself to comparison with austin's 'i quit' match (both brawly, done in a pretty basic style where they mostly beat the hell out of each other), and i think hansen/kobashi comes out on top. the brawling looks more like it hurts, the transitions are more brutal (kobashi RUNNING into hansen's foot > austin hit over the head with the ring bell), and the ending is about as good.

Make sure to state it's "ONLY IN THE US" so no matches that occured in Canada can be nominated. ;)

Yeah, gotta stop those Hogan-Warrior replies.
